  1. No Whelan. Hope Yze makes the cut. He owns QBDAY.
  2. Trade him for a Nathan Brown, Ben Holland and Daniel Ward package.
  3. I guarantee you he won't get nominated this year for one of two reasons: 1) They've totally forgotten the rule and just assume Jones played 10-15 games last year. Remember there are a ton of players out there, and their not going to automatically register that "Oh yeah, Jones played 8 games last year". OR 2) They know precisely that Jones played under 10 games last year but deem it unfair that he should be nominated twice...even though the rules state he can. He really should've been nominated after the Port game or even last week V Adelaide. As for the Gibbs discussion, I think Yze_Magic's been reading too much Big Footy
  4. No way will this happen. We play Carlton in 4 weeks
  5. Couldn't agree more unfortunetly. He was awesome in the NAB Cup series, which makes it even more disapointing. He'll be gone by years end. CAC and crew would be doing well to trade him for a fourth round draft pick.
  6. I like the positivity by Green. Reminds us that Melbourne aren't exactly the basket case we were convinced they were after the Eagles game. But when its all said and done, to win 11 out of 12 is simply unrealistic in this tight AFL season. Games against Freo (subi), Port (AAMI) and Sydney (Manuka) I've already pencilled in as losses...MFC simply don't win those games. We also face a tricky assignment against Essendon at the Dome in round 13 as well as Collingwood twice. I think 8-14 is a more realistic goal to achieve. It sounds mediocre but it still means we've won more than we've lost from now on, which is a positive step.
  7. Agree, Godfrey on Swan. Swan is more dangerous. Bell on Didak. Whelan on Neon Leon if available.
  8. I watched the replay this morning expecting to bag Ward for all his turnovers, however there weren't actually that many. It felt like more while at the game. Creates great drive and pace out of defence but accountability is the problem. Undecided whether he's best 22.
  9. Thats the problem with losing form. Nobody wants to turn up. Having said that if we were in winning form only 20-23000 would've turned up to the Port and Freo games and we still would've struggled to break even. We're defianetly struggling in the match revenue stakes and its only going to get worse with possible poor crowds coming up against Kangaroos, Adelaide and Western Bulldogs at the Dome later in the year. And Jaded would you seriously donate the money back
  10. I agree YM's a character and this site would be just that little more dull without him.
  11. He literally said four words in the segment where the aboriginal boys were on. "Yeah just do me stuff" Seemed to focus way more on Tambling and Ryder, where as I thought they would've asked Alwyn the tired old question "Who's faster, you or Aaron?"
  12. Nar I believe that will occur at 4:47pm this Sunday if we get done.
  13. Yes, I think it does to some extent. A win this week shows that ND ACTUALLY HAS THE ABILITY TO REGISTER A WIN in the nations premier code. How many codes in the world would tolerate 9 straight losses to start a season in any professional league. At the moment he either can't squeeze his troops over the line (ie Port and Dogs games) or conceding cricket scores. Last week against the Eagles may have been a defining (negative) moment in that the side could easily just [censored] the season away and give up. If thats the case, just give the gig to anyone who's got half a clue. A win this week could change all this and prove that the players are playing for their coach...yes I know they all love and admire him but thats not translating into results. I'll reserve my judgement till after this week. No I'll be fair, I'll reserve my judgement till after round 15 when we've played winnable games against Richmond, Essendon, Carlton and to an extent Collingwood. Its not that I hate Neale Daniher, but I'm just looking at the cold harsh realities of coaching a winless team 2 months into the season.
  14. This is where the club and coach can meet half way. MFC pays out half of his remaining contract...probabaly $100,000. I just get the feeling that ND will one day soon say 'he's had enough and doing his future coaching career no favours'. Ofcourse this may change if we get that first win this week.
  15. I wish Daniher would resign off his own accord, effective 4:45pm Sunday May 27th...if we lose to the Kangaroos this week. I'll reserve my judgement till then, but someone must pay for the [censored] that was put up last Sunday V the Toast.
  16. Do you honestly think ND will see out the year if we get done this week? This club will be in absolute crisis if they lose, make no mistake. Curran and Riley are on definate stand by, plus they've taken the reigns in pre-season games and have enough experience to take the gig for 13 weeks. I can't accept 0-9. ND will just be embarrasing himself if he keeps going. Why would he want to coach a bunch of blokes who simply aren't responding to their coach? Gardiner's been quiet about the coach all season, but one day very soon he'll snap his finger and say enough is enough. Just my opinion, but is it that far-fetched??
  17. If Melbourne lost comprehensively this week and Richmond won, can anyone forsee the distinct possibility of ND either resigning next week or getting sacked. I know its very un-like Paul Gardiner, but......sometimes harsh calls need to be made. If so, would you prefer: Chris Fagan Peter Curran Paul Williams (unlikely as he's only been here 5 minutes) Mark Riley Sorry to be so negative, but I've got an ugly vibe if we go down this week. Usually sackings come when you least expect it. Having said that, I give us a shot this week. Roos are due for a loss, and Dees are due not to lose.
  18. Has to be Damien Sully. The guys sounds like a cross between Dave Hughes and a man at the Sydney mardigras.
  19. Don't worry bud, they'll keep you happy in that department. They couldn't beat a Croydon under 14's side at the moment. 4 wins maximum this year which will result in a 15th or 16th finish. Lets just hope the Blues win more than 4 games to ensure they don't have first pick in the draft.
  20. I think he's been suspended twice, plus a trip to the clink.
