  1. Who cares! demonland >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>bigfooty>>>>>>>>>>>>>>demonology
  2. Lets get him !!!
  3. Generous.
  4. Green - Captain McLean - VC (I can't trust him to stay on the park, sadly) Miller - DVC
  5. Cyril Rioli by virtue of the fact that he played every game in his debut year, which is a great effort considering he plays for the 2nd best team in the AFL. Interesting that they both finished 2nd in the NAB rising star in their respective debut years.
  6. So what are you going to do about it Mr Bailey? It was abysmal in the pre season and just as bad by round 22.
  7. Disagree with Bate and Frawley taking steps forward. Lord Travis I don't think I've ever seen a team get an F in these reviews.
  8. If I were in charge of the club, I would demand that MFC's percentage be at least 70% for Bailey to survive at the end of 2009. 62% is Fitzroy-like and is simply not competetive.
  9. Geez Caroll's a first class idiot. Sack the list clogger or trade him for a seventh round draft pick.
  10. I understand why you put McLean there (because of injury) but some of his games against Fremantle, Hawthorn and Collingwood were career best. Had he played all season, he would've romped home in the B & F. So unfair that our best players always get injured
  11. Really enjoyed that article. He's come a long way since his debut last year when he looked like that 'unco' kid who you couldn't believe was getting a game. I reckon one or two panelists may give him a vote in the NAB rising star. I'm surprised the article didn't mention the bigfooty.com incident when Garland bagged Neitz as being the worst captain in the AFL the season before he got drafted.
  12. I reckon Palmer will be more consistent but Morton's best will be better than Palmer's.
  13. If Brad Green can't come to terms with Melbourne: Green and Melbourne's fourth round draft pick for Carlton's second (pick 24) and third rounder (pick 39). I doubt Green would screw the club over and walk in the PSD without MFC getting compensation. R Warnock for Melbourne's third round draft pick. If Warnock walks out of Freo, I reckon they'll negotiate a deal out of goodwill so Freo get a little bit of compensation. We can trade our 3rd round pick (39) which we received in the above Green trade, and still retain our original 3rd round draft pick. And we will use our PSD pick on a kid that got overlooked in the national draft. Apart from Warnock, I feel that the club has no interest in picking up players with AFL experience. (I would be personally targetting Cousins with our 3rd round pick or in the PSD if available as I don't believe in a total rebuild, but that's another story) Primsall will re-sign at Geelong for less money than he could recieve elsewhere. They just seem so tight knit down there and he'll want to chase the holy-grail. So going into the draft (assuming we finish last) we will have picks 1, 17, 19, 24 (acquired off Green trade) and 34. Plus we get Robbie Warnock and pick 1 in the PSD! I should be MFC's list manager
  14. At first I Lol'd at that trade as Reilly is far better than Bell. But on second thought Adelaide (and Port) have expressed interest in Bell in the past, so I expect Adelaide may enquire about him during trade week.
  15. Highly feasible that the Eagles will lose by triple figures to a hungry and primed Geelong. Infact I would be surprised if the margin was any less. Then if we win on Sunday, we leap frog the Eagles and finish 15th. Although on form you couldn't tip us, I wouldn't underestimate the emotion and incentive of sending off White, Yze and Holland in style. Obviously those nostalgic fans would be happy with that result as Melbourne would avoid the wooden spoon. However I think it would be paramount that we retain 16th due to having the best draft picks and bargaining power come trade time and the PSD. Best result would be a West Coast loss by about 8 goals, and we win but retain bottom. Your thoughts?
  16. Yeah that was me. A player who is stuck in the VFL reserves in his second year is a drafting blunder in my book...no matter what pick.
  17. You are so right. A lot of people view this kid with rose coloured glasses, but I just can't see him being a genuine AFL player. I hope CAC hasn't stuffed up this critical pick 12 , given that we could've got our hands on blokes like Jack Riewoldt, Grigg, Houli, Urquhart... Next year he should be starting 22 for the Dees...otherwise the jury will surely be out.
  18. How good was his chizzling pass to Juice (or Miller?) inside 50 in the third quarter at the punt rd end when he side stepped an opponent, used his pace and put it down Juice's throat. More of this please!!
  19. 2004 looks decent with Bate, Dunn and Newton. Confident all players will play 100, as long as Juice improves with form and consistency. Warnock appaears to be an effective rookie selection after we all wrote him off last year. 2005 is better as Bartram and Jones are first choice 22, and Buckley could potentially be a top 50 player in the AFL in a couple of years. The fact that Bartram and Buckley are fourth and fifth round draft picks reflects highly on CAC's ability to select late draft picks successfully. 2006 could very well be CAC's best effort given he got Petterd and Garland at post 30 picks. However if Frawley doesn't kick on (which I have my doubts on him) then you'd have to reasess CAC's selections for 2006. Weetra was obviously a blunder. 2007 is yet to be determined but CAC had something he's never had before...3 picks in the top 22. Morton looks like he'll be a very good player, but CAC will be scrutinsed if Palmer, Ward and Henderson turn out better. Grimes was a high risk high return pick due to injury and Maric was picked up. If Mc Namara and Cheney become regulars, then this will likely be CAC's greatest effort for the club. Again we've been economical with our rookies with Warnock, Aussie, and Valenti all strong possibilties to be in our best 22 next year while Zomer could be a chance. Overall I'm pretty happy with CAC's recent drafts, however it was the early 2000's which we are paying for at the moment, as we have a major gap in our 25-28 age group. This is why Geelong are so successful, as most of their players are in their mid 20's which is when most play their best footy.
  20. CJ is out for the season. May have played his last game for the club as I believe he'll be packaged in a possible Warnock trade.
  21. But without the Brad Green's of the world, we actually won't be competetive enough to reach the premiership window.
  22. No. Green is too valuable for pick 25.
  23. Knew this kid was the goods after watching him kick 2 or 3 classy goals against Adelaide in round 8. Will sit in the same company as Flower, Neitz and Lyon by the end of his career.
  24. I'm not so sure about that. Saw Ryan Ferguson at Fitness First last year
  25. That was officially the best match report ever on Demonland!!! Could not stop laughing at the 'training' drills! And if we somehow beat Port this week, there will be a lot of Demon fans conflicted for the Richmond game - Do we win and blow the PP, or do we quietly hope to lose?
