Agree. From round 2 2010 (loss to Collingwood by 1 pt) to round 17 2011 (win over Port in Darwin) we were actually a half decent side. Remember we were in the 8 after beating Richmond in round 15 2011. Then the wheels have totally fallen off since 186 and we haven't recovered.

Did we draft the wrong guy again?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Redjacket's topic in Melbourne Demons
As someome else mentioned, if Wines played for Melbourn on Sunday, he probably would've struggled and got about 8 possessions and 5 clangers. Meanwhile if Toumpas was in a Port jumper, he probably would've kicked 3 goals and set up 5 others. -
A Calendar of Incompetency - Patrick Smith
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Strangely enough under Riley, we were not too horrible. 3 of their 5 wins were under him, and just lost to Collingwood who were top 4 that year. -
Who will be the next coach of MFC?

Jade Rawlings as care taker. Go for Mark Thompson if he still has any hunger left. -
"I want us to be the hardest team to play against" -Mark Neeld, sep 2011 Right now we're the [censored] easiest team to play against.

MELBOURNE v PORT ADELAIDE - PREGAME
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unless things have changed this year, it's always been late Friday afternoon.I expect the final 22 to be announced by 6pm tonight. -
The only way to shut them all up is win the bloody game
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm a subscriber to honourable losses to quality teams, but there will be no honour in losing to Port in this critical game. -
Pederson to debut on the back of a poor nab cup. Interesting.

MELBOURNE v PORT ADELAIDE - PREGAME
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's exactly how I see it, and am also tipping Port.I reckon Port will pretty much be a top 8 side and I'll be pleasantly staggered if we can win on Sunday. -
Sundays game is 1.10PM people!
Bring-Back-Powell replied to dees_rule_4eva's topic in Melbourne Demons
1:10pm! The best time for a footy game! Game over by 3:45 and you've still got half the arvo to celebrate the win! (Wins, remember them....) -
Training - Tuesday 26th March, 2013
Bring-Back-Powell replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
For what it's worth Dawes and T McDonald spent far more time on the track than Clark, Trengove and Blease. If I were a betting man I'd say Dawes and McDonald will play V port while Blease will be sub at best. Blease looked good and fast on hb/wing in the drills. Clark and Trengove to play for Casey. Viney had a light session. Byrnes knows how to kick a sausage. Realky want him to kick at least 30 this year. McKenzie and Nicholson only did a bit of kick to kick while J MacDonald only walked a lap. Gawn participated in most of training and was the first one on the track. Training overall was quite good, but a lot of missed targets which is why we'll only win 3-5 games. -

Haha! Would be nice I'm starving.Haven't seen Clark on the track for a while. My tip is Dawes plays but Clark plays at Casey 1 more week. -

Dawes just kicked a sausage from 50 in match simulation. -

I could be off the money, but Dawes looks ready for Sunday. Tom McDonald looks in good shape too. -

As long as Rivers gets the 4th or 5th forward he'll go half ok. Lyon forgot to add that in the recent Geelong v Adelaide game, River was solely responsible for Adelaide two first qtr goals. The first one he dropped a mark which resulted in Dangerfield mopping up the mess. In the second goal, Rivers gave away a blatant free in the goal square. I'm not all that fussed to see him succeed at Geelong.

PRACTICE MATCH: CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sounds like the Melbourne v saints nab cup game when we folded like a deck of cards in the second qtr. I hope Clarks done enough for rd 1. Will be disappointed if he and Dawes don't make it next week. -
It's fair to say our NAB cup form has been a concern. An 8 goal to 1 second qtr against the saints and a poor loss to Gold Coast is not an endorcement for the year ahead. But, ill give them the benefit of the doubt. We were missing quite a few in each game, including our two key forwards. I struggle to see us winning more than 4 games because we have the worst midfield in the AFL.

Unfit Demons were 'embarrassing' last year
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Young Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sticking up for bailey what so ever as he was proven to be a rubbish AFL head coach, but it was a fair effort belting the likes of Adelaide and Fremantle by 90 odd points, and beating a final 8 side in Essendon , with grossly inferior fitness. That awful fitness base also somehow saw them tie with the 2010 premiers. -
I bet he has a stinker of a year, does a Moloney by throwing the toys out of the cot and switching clubs, and have a blinder of a 2014.

Best 22 for round 1 - your call.
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
And if he's not in the 22 he won't be at the club next year.I can see a repeat of Moloney, where the minute he gets dropped, he throws the toys out of the cot and wants out. Sylvia should be one of the first 5 players picked on talent alone, but lacks consistency from week to week. -
Best 22 for round 1 - your call.
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Geez I hope T McDonald is available. Will help our defensive structure no end. I know it won't happen but it wouldn't shock me if Howe doesn't make the cut. Apart from the North mini game, has done nothing this pre season. -

I actually reckon Port have a better list than us. They certainly have a better midfield. -
