  1. Magner to be elevated and play rd 1 at the expense of Trengove who surely will miss the first few weeks of the season. I reckon he'll be rewarded for a great summer.
  2. Rivers will go half ok at Geelong so long as he gets assigned nothing more than the opposition's 4th or 5th best forward.
  3. I was being a little sarcastic. However my expectations of this mob are so low it's not funny. The whole organization lost me when we got outclassed by Port in Darwin.
  4. As long as we almost break even in inside 50's and contested possessions, and beat the franchises, Neeld will be fine.
  5. I'm going for a smokey - Bennell Rather than be delisted, I Would've liked him demoted to the rookie list at the expense of Couch. He was heavily maligned around here. He offered class, speed, skill but just too inconsistent. The penny looked to be dropping just before he did his knee v Freo, which was a shame.
  6. If Aaron Edwards, a serial alcoholic who got locked up in the tank 2 days before he joined Richmond, escaped with only a suspended suspension, then surely Rd 1 suspensions will not be entertained.
  7. 1 pm boxing day: Tom McDonald working out at the gym (according to his twitter) Howe, Dunn and Frawley sinking [censored] in bay 13 at the G. Spot the difference in dedication.
  8. Is that how much legal fees are at the supreme court?
  9. I would bend over for a lighter penalty, in the interest of surviving as a football club. What if we go to court, lose the case and subsequently get thrown out of the next 4 national drafts?
  10. The Afl has obviously got some hard core evidence if they're going to charge us.Eg- emails, stories collaborating etc... I reckon we're stuffed. Therefore plead guilty, WORK with the AFL for a fair and minimal punishment and let's put this sorry affair behind us and focus on 2013.
  11. So most of you guys are happy to be thrown out of the next 4 drafts for not co-operating with the AFL. I'd rather co-operate with the AFL and work out a penalty that won't cripple us. We are not 100% innocent in all this.
  12. Instead of taking this to court and losing (which being the Melbourne football club, we will), the club should be sitting down with the afl this week and working on a plea bargain. Loss of our first 2 picks next year, a $200k fine and a fake apology (because we all know Carlton, West Coast, Collingwood etc tanked as well) We cannot afford a serious punishment.
  13. 5-7 wins is a realistic, sensible and responsible target for next year. The club will not magically start winning games every second week.
  14. Me either. As long as the investigation is open, I'm deeply concerned that we'll lose picks for the next 3-4 drafts.
  15. When ever I do a best 22 I always have mckenzie in it. Not because I want to , but I feel I have to.
  16. Geez you guys are getting ahead of yourselves. Until the afl come out and clear us, I'm still concerned we face loss of draft picks for the next 3-4 years.
  17. I wouldn't be opposed to the club doing an Adelaide by admitting guilt, in order to get a much lesser penalty. This club cannot afford to be banned from the next 4 drafts. Having said that, if the club truly believes its innocent and have done nothing wrong, then I'm happy for them to fight this to the bitter end.
  18. They got away with it lightly because they plead for mercy. Part of me wants MFC to do the same thing if it looks like the AFL are going to destroy us.
  19. Anyone think he's a genuine chance of going to the big house for a year or so?
  20. Would be the end for me if Jurrah puts on a match winning 5 goal performance against us in round 1.
  21. Some common ones over the last few years: Dunne Silvia Bertram Bates Davies Maloney
  22. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls the pin before the National Australia Bank cup.
  23. Too unrealistic. Finals means 14 wins. We can't and won't win 14 games. 8-9 is a more realistic goal.
  24. Dunn staying is a no brainer Sellar showed a bit as a defender on gorillas. Not fussed on him either way. I thought it might have been time to farewell MacDonald. A bit over his constant fumbling, bumbling, and direct clangers to the opposition. Gives his all but can't be trusted with ball in hand.
