  1. Probably the right decision to move him on, but we could use his experience, cool head and superb contested marking in our defensive 50 these days.
  2. Will it really be that slippery? I thought it was the dry season in Darwin and the humidity wasn't too bad. I think when we had these games in May, it was way more slippery. Can remember in our Darwin game last year V' West Coast (also in July), Jack Darling and others were clunking marks like it was a dry weather game.
  3. Memorable was peobably a poor choice of words. How about a 'mature win'?
  4. 6 Day breaks this year: Rd 6 - Loss to St Kilda Rd 10 - Loss to Port Rd 13 - Loss to Sydney. They were our 3 least competitive efforts for the year, whereby the games were effectively over by 3 qtr time. Last time we won off a 6 day break was the Collingwood rd 18 win last year. We also beat Richmond in round 4 last year off the 6 day break.
  5. It would be a memorable win if we can knock off the Dockers. 1) 6 day break 2) Darwin factor 3) Usually lucky to kick 5 goals a game against Freo.
  6. Agreed. I'd have a lot more respect for Hogan if he comes clean at the end of the year and says his intentions are to return to WA at the end of the contract, "so why not trade me a year earlier to maximize your (MFC) return". As opposed to stuffing the club around for a further 12 months and and us holding less bargaining power.
  7. Barlow likely now to play according to the afl website.
  8. I woudn't mind him. He knows how to kick a sausage. Just keep him away from wrecking yards and seat buckles.
  9. I won't be shocked if we lose. We haven't won in the NT under Roos and we've barely kicked 5 goals a game against Freo. Add a 6 day break and you'd almost be talking a memorable win if we can knock them off.
  10. 3 way trade: Fyfe to Essendon Hogan to Freo Hurley to Melbourne A raft of Draft picks swapped. Sauce - Absolutely none.
  11. Probably because he was deemed the 6th best player on the ground according to the coaches votes.
  12. So I assume the anti Tom McDonald brigade are happy with Oscar McDonald and Sam Frost as our number one and two key defenders respectively, for the 2017 season. Looks like a formidable defence without T Mac.
  13. We have a 6 day break and we'll be playing in 28 degree heat. Everytime we come off a 6 day break and get pumped, Roos always says they got it wrong at selection by not making changes. I'm expecting at least 3 changes.
  14. Yes, and replace with Terlich.
  15. I guess Roos was a bit off the money when he said Grimes would be a regular fixture in the side for the run home and that his VFL form was too hard to ignore.
  16. Excellent way to start the day. Jetta was an important signing. Now onto Watts and T Mac.
  17. I reckon VDB has a bit of golden ticket in this side.
  18. A 13 night rest just couldn't get him over the line for this one.
  19. If he does end up going, it's probably best to trade him this year as it's doubtful Freo will have this high a draft pick (3 or 4) next year.
  20. Yeah I've found that too. What year did he change to 31? 2012??
  21. Last night on 3aw, Roos confirmed that Grimes will be a fixture in the side after the bye. Form in the VFL has now become too hard to ignore.
  22. I cannot see us playing finals next year or even winning 10-11 games if T Mac goes but we don't replace him with a competent and experienced B+ grade defender. We've already lost Frawley and Howe from our defence and potentially Jetta. Cannot afford to lose anything more.
  23. I'll be shattered if they make finals before us. But they certainly have the fixture to do it. They could easily be 9-7 as they have GC, Essendon and us over the next 3 weeks.
  24. Wagner on McGovern. Can't think on anyone else. Also Hunt on Cameron.
