  1. I agree that his leadership has been sorely missed. i know it was a meaningless JLT game against the Dogs, but in the dying minutes he knew exactly where to position himself in defensive 50 and took a couple of match saving marks. It was a terrific simulation for the season proper. I'm almost certain we would not have conceded that last goal vs Freo if he was hanging around the back line. On a side note, Geez he must have given Cripps a decent whack to the jaw. How many game has Cripps missed as a result of his "broken jaw" - according to the CFC doc.
  2. Yeah my thoughts too. With wins against GC and Collingwood. 4-7 after Queens B'day. Hopefully Spencer makes an earlier than expected recovery.
  3. Our season went off the rails the minute the Carlton doctor provided a fraudulent medical report to the MRP.
  4. Let's see how they're shaping up in 3 weeks time after playing Adelaide, Dogs and GWS all away.
  5. We also played them in the season opener of 1968 down at Geelong. Alas, we lost by 23 points. It was a long trip back from Geelong on the horse and cart.
  6. Our recent record in the rain is atrocious. We lost to Carlton last year with finals on the line and also lost to Essendon in 2015 who were themselves coming off a 110 point loss to St Kilda the previous week. However when we played Richmond in 2015, we beat them easily in the second half rain.
  7. Or Hamish, Basil and Luke Darcy. Basically the entire channel 7 commentary payroll.
  8. All good if we lose. Beat Essendon next week and we jump as high as 7th. #2weeksatatime
  9. Sounds like we bought an injury prone lemon.
  10. No thanks. Ive quite enjoyed starting the season 1-0 the last 3 years.
  11. I didn't hear the interview but others have said that he didn't sound overly confident but never mentioned he was actually out. I reckon Richmond will roll the dice and play him.
  12. I found this on Richmond's Bigfooty's page: Gary Lyon said he has been told that Dusty is definitely out. Caracalla didn't sound too confident on SEN. I don't think we can win without him.
  13. Yeah pay that. Old mate Harry LaBamba didn't exactly receive David Neitz type love from the red & blue army.
  14. Aside from Gary Moorcroft, can anyone recall a more disliked import than Melksham? Tom Gillies doesn't count as he was just handicapped at football.
  15. I totally get your point as it's a bit of a loser's mentality having to rely on the opposition's guns to be injured in order to win a game. However, Geelong and Freo have directly benefited from our stars being out, so I feel we're due a little luck going the other way.
  16. I stopped reading when he started bagging Watts - the one player who remotely resembles an A Grader at our club.
  17. How did it come to this? I'm staggered that we've missed out on a chunk of sponsorship revenue despite having one of the supposedly best AFL club CEO's of all time. Even when we bush league standard in 2013 we had sponsors on the front and back of our jumpers.
  18. That has to be a massive win for us. Even if Martin plays, I can't see him pulling off another 40 possession 3 goal game on a crook groin. Hogan and Hibberd look like great ins on paper.
  19. Horror draw as in WB, WCE (away) and Sydney all on 6 day breaks. We've shown that we struggle off 6 day breaks and we certainly struggle off tough interstate trips such as Darwin. In fact we rarely win under any adversity (ie - suspensions).
  20. I think the winnable games over the next 6 weeks (ie Essendon, Hawks, GC) are just as important as this one We have a horror month's draw after Queens Birthday so if we're any chance of making finals, we need to be 7-4, which allows us the luxury of dropping 7 games on the way home (as long as we have a decent %) Dropping this week's game isn't life and death, but if we do we must beat all of Essendon, Hawthorn, North, GC (in NT) and Collingwood. We WILL lose to Adelaide over there in round 8. If results go our way and we still lose this week, we will still be in the 8 which would help immensely..
  21. I guess it's possible that some players can play better at AFL level than VFL, and perhaps they think that JKH fits into that category.
  22. I can possibly see North beating Freo. North are due for a win and Freo can't play 4 qtrs. I can certainly see GC losing to Adelaide I can certainly see Collingwood beating Essendon I can certainly see Geelong beating St Kilda Losing to Richmond will have our season on the knifes edge, but if all of the above results occur, we can still be in the 8 and can remain there for the next few weeks if we're good enough to beat Essendon and Hawthorn.
  23. We can lose this and still be in the 8 after round 5.
  24. I'm happy for Pedo to come back in next week. Even if he has a 7 possssion 2 mark stinker, it will still be a better contribution than Weideman.
  25. "Melbourne are a quality side, we knew it would be hard" - Cam McCarthy Even the opposition players are overrating us.
