Our MCG record has gone from a horrid 2-5 after the St Kilda debacle to a much better 7-6 after tonight. -

Record against top 8 sides: Melbourne 4-6 Collingwood 1-8 -
A 60 point GWS win would be nice. The Eddie McChins reaction after each goal GWS kick in the last qtr will be priceless.
-
16% of top 4 sides since 2000 have gone out in straight sets, with respect to semi finals.
-
I’m expecting the following marquee games next year: 1 Friday night home MCG game 1 Friday night away MCG or Etihad game 1 Friday night interstate game 1 Thursday night interstate game 1 Anzac Eve 1 Queens B’day 4 Saturday night channel 7 games, both here and interstate.
-
I'm also sick of everyone at work today saying how Melbourne should thrash Hawthorn because they have 2 of their best 22 out. Anything less is a failure apparently.
-
Be lovely if he could hit a set shot for goal.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Semi Final

Only 6 teams since 2000 (when the current finals system was implemented) have gone out in straight sets. That's a 16% strike rate. The games were as follows: Port lost to Hawthorn in 2001 West Coast lost to Collingwood in 2007 Geelong lost to North in 2014 Freo lost to Port in 2014 Sydney lost to North in 2015 Hawks lost to Bulldogs 2016 -
And with Collingwood having a massive amount of AFL members and Hawthorn surprisingly have very little, there may be some numbers that may have gone on Friday night instead go on Saturday night.
-
Good. I sat in the AFL members last week and it was jam packed. Whilst it was great to get a 90K crowd, it's also nice not to be jam packed like sardines, and get a couple of seats to yourself.
-
Is he a good player and would he satisfy our outside needs? If the answer is yes to both, then yes.
-
He’s gone from a C+ grader in round 16 to an A grader by finals. What the hell has happened to this bloke?
-
He’s been pretty good since his return, but he was probably in our bottom 3 last night along with Spargo and Petracca. I think he was responsible for 2 Geelong goals.

Slobbo must have had an 11am liquid lunch after those predictions. -
Well played mate. Super generous.

Any danger we can get Geelong on an inaccurate night? Round 18 2018 - 16.4.100 Round 1 2018 - 14.13.97 Round 3 2017 - 20.6.126 Round 23 2016 - 24.11.155 Round 12 2005 - 13.11.89 An average of 17.9.111 -
Plenty of GA available on top half of level 4 Ponsford stand. Even some M2 tickets available near our cheer squad.
-
Hopefully there will be some spare seats in the AFL members.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final

You'd be surprised if the ins/outs aren't: In - Viney, Hannan Out - Kent, JFK Genuine 50/50 game, but if we can keep the scoreboard ticking like we do in all our wins we can win this. Plus most of Ablett, Selwood, Danger, Kelly and Hawkins will need to have average games by their standards. Not 100% happy with the Viney inclusion considering he'll be under done in a high stakes game, out midfield was purring without him and Kennedy-Harris and Spargo (one of whom will cop a bullet) were improving by the week and will be unlucky to miss. Is anyone going to be angry if we lose by a few goals and declare it a wasted and failed season? Or are we all going to acknowledge that we're seriously on the right track and a loss in our first final in 12 years is not going to get in our way of achieving serious success over the next few years. -
"Tickets hare officially sold out for Melbourne V Geelong" - Gerard Healy, 3AW, 4 September 2019. I log into ticketek this morning and there are still seats available in the public. Is it too much for these so called professionals to do a little research and not misguide the public?

Key tactical issues v Geelong

Didn't realise Geelong are just as bad if not worse than us at the G. They have a 1-5 record (0.16) while we have a 5-6 record (0.45)
