2019 Player Reviews: #9 Charlie Spargo
In fairness he did show glimpses of something in 2018. He can’t be that far off the mark if he’s kicking 2 goals and setting up others in a high stakes semi final.
-
Ben King
The AFL should offer Ben King a $1 million dollar bonus (on top of his salary) if he re-signs with GC next year, rather than giving them pointless draft picks.
-
Josh Mahoney in the Media
I'm expecting them to play all year.
-
Jack Newnes
Strikes me as a player that’s getting slightly worse by the year.

Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
Loses all credibility with that call. There is now way known that J Wagner can be considered a better player than Harmes. Harmes ought to be insulted by that call.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
If the AFL were serious they would do all they can to make it impossible for Ben King and Lukkious (by way of unprecedented financial incentives) to leave Gold Coast, instead of throwing draft picks at the club. A stance needs to made because at the moment clubs like St Kilda think they are simply entitled to a gun player once he has served his 2 first years.
-
Why are the Saints so attractive?
I’m not one to bag them. They’ve completely owned us since the mid 2000’s.

Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
Tom Lynch (Richmond)
-
Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
It has to be Membrey that Yoko Ono is on about. That bloke has complete ownership over us.
-
Farewell Sam Frost
The Frost trade’s probably being held up by Hawthorn’s offer of a future 6th round draft pick.
-
Joel Smith
I think Smylie said he was making good progress back in August in one of his last injury reports. I have him as a wildcard for next year. Either as a forward or defender. Would be nice if he had a full year without getting injured though.

2019 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
I think that's correct in the early matches he played for the club. Looked out of his depth. However, he and/or the coaches fixed his game to the extent where he jagged a 27 possession/9 mark/ 1 brownlow vote game in one of our big wins between rounds 6 and 11 2018.
-
2019 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
^^^ Watts the matter - agreed. We certainly paid a huge price for Lever. That is indisputable.

2019 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
Very underwhelming return to the side for a bloke we payed two first rounders for. Some of his kicking was horrendous. However, should be judged next year, after a full pre-season. People probably forget that he was outstanding during the 3-4 weeks before he did his knee in 2018. I feel we need May and another key defender(to replace Frost) to take the 2 oppo's big boys, while Lever floats around and takes the all important intercepting mark which he did well at in 2017.
-
Tom Papley
No chance Hawthorn are giving us pick 30 for Frost. Hawthorn didn't win premiership after premiership by trading second round draft picks for ordinary players. We'll get Frost for a third round at best, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hawthorn offer us a 4th rounder given we low balled Frost.
-
Tom Papley
Would be a better option than Elliott. Younger, healthier, and his 37 goals (2019 season) as a 22 year old is more than Elliott's best haul of 35. If we managed to land Papley and get pick around 9-12 back, it would be the best trade week that I could recall us ever having.

Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
He wasn’t very yucky when he snagged 4 against us on a torn hammy. Ahh 2019 - the gift that kept on giving!
-
Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
Shaun McKernan?
-
Dan Butler
He looked cooked against us in the return game.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Harmes > Langdon > Salem IMO. Back to back top 5 B&F finishes for Ed strengthens Bell's claims for pick 22.
-
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
What are everyone's thoughts on trading pick 22 for a player that: 1) averages 25 touches/ 6 marks a game, 2) kicks a goal every second week, 3) is a genuine winger perfectly suited to the MCG 4) is one of the best runners in the business: 5) and has played 43 of the last 44 games.
-
Farewell Sam Frost
I wouldn’t hold my breath.
-
Jamie Elliott
Much to get excited about next year with the ‘O’28 leading our forward line.
-
Jamie Elliott
I agree. Up the ante! It’s a risk but we’re not giving up key draft picks. Now Sydney is a team that’s taking a dangerous risk with Daniher, due to giving away first round drafts.
