You are spot on. I had a quick look into the attendance numbers and for us against West Coast and over the last 20 years in Melbourne, Well it has been pretty poor. An average of 20K at the MCG where in WA (optus/subiaco) when we play WC they average at least 40k. It's double the revenue in ticket sales for the AFL for us to go over there if we only play them once during in the season. Now we haven't had a chance to see what the numbers would be for a crowd at the MCG since 2014 as we sold our home game in 2019 to NT. I would imagine if this game was in Melbourne this year we'd crack 40k

I prefer BT not commentating collingwood or richmond games cos he loves them and Melbourne games cos he hates us. He's also more fun when he call's on the radio when he can be a bit more of a larrikin

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
FritschyBusiness replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
I feel there is a lot of truth to this summary as signing Jackson has thrown off their team balance however an equal factor is the best 22 players that left. Griffen Logue, Blake Acers and Rory Lobb. They have the cattle to win maybe 5-8 games this year. -
Thats why I asked for an explanation. The photos I have are being circulated by the herald sun now anyway (not from me).
-
The media only want it because trade news articles get the most clicks. AFL journalism is a profit based business. Image the year long speculation about players moving clubs with two transfer windows instead of one, it will be a nightmare.
-
Thank you for the explanation. I guess I'll keep the truth to myself and everyone else can speculate.

Why did my comment get deleted? I just quoted what Jack Crisp said since I have a copy of it.

I am a big fan of the Grundy, Oliver, Trac and Sparrow combo -
Here is a crude version of what I think you are asking for I found on google. Basically every logo in Victoria should be smaller and closer to the Melbourne logo bar Geelong

MELBOURNE V SYDNEY – THE MONGREL REVIEW
FritschyBusiness replied to Blistering's topic in Melbourne Demons
My Dad and I had the same discussion at the ground during the game -
We kicked 16.1 from set shots against Sydney. An immense improvement on 2022, Thank you Mark Williams

I'm confused that you feel that way because I've always thought Jake was a reliable kick. I've just checked that stats Jake Lever has an average of 82% disposal efficiency since joining us which compared to the rest of the AFL is elite. His kicking efficiency for that time is all over 80%. He is currently at 83.6% this year which is a career high.

Pure shot in the dark but I'd have LDU on 6 votes, Nick Daicos on 5 and i'd have Clarry on 4 so far. I've only watched one st kilda game so far this year so not sure if someone there would have polled well across the first 3 rounds.

It's been such an enjoyable journey watching this talent develop. Amazing to think we are only halfway through this viewing this greatness. Trac and Clarry are contracted for another 6 and 7 seasons so surely will have the opportunity to make 300. We will probably get another 100 out of Angus too who has 5 years left on his current deal.

Steven May caught driving with a suspended license
FritschyBusiness replied to MrFreeze's topic in Melbourne Demons
The judge asked how much I earned a fortnight and then spat out $800 as the fine. I can tell you that I am sure I don't earn more than Steven May 🤣 -
Just for everyones reference heres a live draft order: https://www.zerohanger.com/afl/afl-draft-order-2023 Melbourne, North Melbourne, GWS and Western Bulldogs are the only clubs holding 2x1st round picks. Freo, Port, Richmond and Brisbane don't have those 4 1st rounders. Hawthorn gave their 2nd and 3rd round picks to Sydney and they hold WB 2nd and 3rd round picks. Gold Coast have 9 picks

The time it takes to fully recover from an MCL tear depends on how severe the tear is. A grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks. A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear generally takes four to six weeks to heal with treatment. A grade 3 (severe) MCL tear can take six weeks or more to heal with treatment

It's probably one of the best 22 we've seen since flag with Salem and Pickett really the only glaring outs. Interesting to see that we have got the same 4 umpires as last week for this game.

DRAFT DAY ONE: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
FritschyBusiness replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the bombers would be foolish to trade pick 4. There is a swag of obviously highly talented players in this draft and they will all go early. -
You have to nominate for this years draft to be eligible in the following seasons mid year draft. If a team had horrible injuries in his position then he might get picked up to fill a hole for a few games. Why not keep the options open.

I used to umpire suburban juniors a long time ago (2005) and we would train on a Wednesday, We'd run around an oval a few times then come into the change rooms and watch some AFL tape, talk about decisions, any issues umpires had from the weekend previously. Generally A lot of talk was around handling badly behaved parents and players during and post game and giving the umpires the tools to handle those situations. Then I'd umpire 2 games back to back on a Sunday and pocket $100 for the day. I'd imagine in the AFL that they would have performance reviews after each game and go through what decisions were right and which ones were not either as a collective or individually. Plus fitness training.
