  1. He wasn't quite as fit as they would have liked him to be and he didn't quite understand or execute the Melbourne role and style at that stage. When he came back in he played completely different to those 3 games. He will be even fitter and cause more problems next year
  2. I would say no as I am thinking purely during the Dean Bailey-Paul Roos 2008-2015 era where players were leaving after every season (I was pretty happy for Stephen Armstrong who we delisted. Bishop we traded for Pick 42 and went on to be pretty damn good)
  3. This could be the best bit about getting BBB on the list
  4. I didn't mind getting Angus Brayshaw for him in compensation, worked out ok ;)
  5. I think it was only James Frawley that got premiership success out of all the ship jumpers
  6. I can't believe I have still have received nothing. Todays the last day of the second time i've received the - delivery expected "within these 5 days window" notification tracking that Aus Post sends you. It annoys me to no end that Auspost are slower than a scomo vaccine rollout. I could have walked into the AFL shop today, purchased the same items and had them in my hands, instead they are still sitting in sunshine west sorting facility and have been since Monday 25th Oct after they finally picked up the order from the club on the 14th of October. Aus post's incompetence is mind boggling.
  7. I'm not an expert but I take an interest in watching some kids when I think they are a chance to be picked up by us. From what I’ve seen Taj is great below his knees, picks the ball up really cleanly and can kick with both feet. He doesn't get huge disposal numbers (mid 20s every game) but does a lot with it, good decision maker and he has gotten better as the year went on. Mainly played inside and outside midfield but he also has a bit of flexibility, his talents could developed to be used in a halfback role like Salem/Bowey or half forward role like Spargo/Neal Bullen role but I'm not sure on his tank. In the draft combine he was 2nd best in the 20m sprint with a blistering time of 2.89 seconds. He was captain of East Freo this year which is always a good sign in regards to a players character. I read an article yesterday on SEN saying he models his game on Steele Sidebottom and Mitch Duncan. From all reports he is driven and professional, so I think given the opportunity at the Demons he will flourish around players with similar hard work ethic like Brayshaw, Petracca etc We will probably use pick 49 on him.
  8. I wonder if he will ever play in a loss.
  9. I cant believe how bad the wait is for this merch. I ordered 3 things that were all in stock on the site the Monday after the Grand Final and am still waiting first time I got the tracking number it said between 20th-24th Oct now it says 27th-1st Nov with no update since Monday 25th
  10. Maybe someone selling those premiers records...."get your records here"
  11. We are gonna win 4 in a row, the improvement will come from 8 premiership players under 21
  12. I think by the end of his career he might be the best defender we have seen in the red and blue.
  13. I wouldn't do moving on the line but once they are two steps to the left or right I think the player should be allowed to move. I dont think they should be allowed to move if the player is moving straight on his line towards the man on the mark. I did notice in alot of games the umpire would tell the player to stand and it was nowhere near where the actual mark should be. so that needs to get fixed. Even with this stand rule we did still see players kick into the man on the mark so it's not as advantageous as it seems
  14. I have recently started reviewing the season for youtube and whilst the wins are obviously great, I'm actually kind of excited to rewatch the Adelaide loss and see Oliver's performance again. The pies game not so much but it's all about the journey to be Premiers. The improvement and challenges in each game are great and there are some lessons in the losses.
  15. She can do it all, She is an absolute superstar
  16. And now the 6-6-6 creates moments like Surely not another one, handball to Oliver, Streaming through... BANG BANG BANG BANG
  17. I hear George Petracca Gawn was Max's second choice
  18. Some solid statistics there AOB! I think the eye test is better than just looking at average points score and the game looks way better and is faster with this rule implemented. Also averaging every games scores means you are kind of handcuffed to how well the worst teams perform. Some teams get a lead and then just try to hold the game out so that affects the scoring line of both sides. I know when the Dees play I want our score to be as high as possible and the oppositions as low as possible.
  19. A quote from Kane in the article “The stand rule did nothing to improve the game, it made it harder to watch, you got sick of the umpires yelling ‘stand’ and you’re requiring teams to play with 17 players instead of 18 which is a joke." Isn't that the point/award/advantage of kicking the ball more than 15 meters and taking a mark? so the player opposed of you has to man the mark and be at a slight disadvantage? I think the AFL got itself in a hole when it started to allow buddys "natural arc" which is just rubbish, run in a straight line like everyone else
  20. Thank you both for elaborating on your points, I couldn't see Petty working at all forward so thats why I was seeking more from you. Definitely got nothing to stress about, (other than whatever injuries we cop in 2022) :)
  21. I understand that but Petty has always been a defender and IMO he is on par with Tomlinson. Tomlinson only lost 1 one on one and that was against the Cats after May went down with a fractured eye socket Our forward line only really clicked in the last four weeks and is pretty damn potent with Fritsch, Brown, McDonald, Spargo, Neal Bullen and Kozzie with Jackson coming off the bench. Who would Petty replace if playing there? Our backline has Lever, May, Petty, Salem, Hibberd and Bowey with Rivers coming off the bench. Who would/should Tomlinson replace? Im curious as to what makes either of you think Petty would show more potential as a forward?
  22. Why oh why would either of you want to take a 21 year old premiership defender out of his position he held down for 19 games and an entire finals series with no problems? It's Tomlinsons problem now to try and break into a premiership side
  23. Macrae got crunched 4-5 times hard in the first quarter. In the first 5 seconds Viney absolutely impales him, then Salem spears him like Goldberg about 75 seconds later. I don't think its coincidence they both went in hard on the same player. I think it was a directive to tackle him hard and rattle him. He had his second lowest disposal count for the year (by 1), I think the hits had an impact on him physically and mentally. I watched a lot of bulldogs games this year and he never got that sort of attention from opposition.
  24. We are the best team in the comp so I'm happy to play anyone. Don't mind playing the dogs round 1 but I'd love to see us vs Geelong round 1 at the MCG on a Friday or Saturday night. Save the grand final replay for round 3/4/5 when that can be the big feature of the round.
