  1. My vote goes for Adonski because he has the tightest back 6. Since 3 of them have played together in the best defence ever in the history of the game, they would be in sync quicker than the other teams would be re:team chemistry and could hold down the other opposing forward lines. Looking across the teams midfields and forwards the 4 teams seem to break even when comparing players in those positions. Looks like it would have been a fun exercise for you guys, good stuff.
  2. Great news today about Bayley Fritsch signing on until 2026
  3. Taj has only had eyes for the Dees. Has said publicly since he was about 14 his goal was to play for us. That puts other clubs off, in the same way no other clubs are talking about picking up Nick Daicos or Sam Darcy this year.
  4. We also nailed getting Jim Stynes and Todd Viney in that offseason, their influence on Max Gawn and Jack Viney created premiership players.
  5. Completely agree completely quality footballers, imagine them in todays side, wowee
  6. CAM BRUCE HAS GONE MAD CAM BRUCE HAS GONE MAD CAM BRUCE HAS GONE COMPLETELY MADDDDDD
  7. You are 100% on the money. Same thing happened in the grand final when the Bulldogs got on top it was because the Mids were not being responsible/accountable enough for their opponents at the stoppages It does feels like that, I think the forwards started to lead to better positions and didn't get in each others ways as much once Ben Brown settled in the side. Theres plenty of times earlier in the season where 2 (sometimes 3) players would lead and jump at the same ball or Fritsch would go to the pocket so he got a 1V1
  8. So nothing changes hey?
  9. I've been going through the whole season and I agree with you goal kicking was a bit of an issue all year however the finals games weren't too bad especially against top quality opposition. Mark Williams has been big on this with the introduction of his balls to our training. Throughout the year you could see massive improvements in certain players kicking (Ie: Bayley Fritsch, Clayton Oliver, Christian Petracca all vastly improved throughout the year) The second half of the Grand final was especially very clean goal kicking wise We kicked 16.5 in the second half compared to our 5.9 halftime score (3 behinds were rushed for the game) (And Gawn's point in the second quarter was def a goal but we cant count it) In the Prelim against Geelong we kicked 19.11 with 4 behinds being rushed So we kicked 19.7 in the Prelim and 21.11 in the Grand Final off our own boot that totals at 30.18 going at a 62.5% accuracy The AFL average from 2015-2021 in goal kicking accuracy is 48.4% The Brisbane QF we scored 13.15 (but had two rushed) so we sit at 50% accuracy for that game I think we are going to see an improved team next year because they now have undoubted belief that they now have the ability to achieve greatness and the skill improvements we saw across the season to build on from here.
  10. I am so keen for Dec 5th, the atmosphere will be incredible
  11. I am exactly the same, I've either watched the full game, the second half or highlights every day since the grand final and It still hasn't quite sunk in. I thought my entire life that I'd cry like a baby when it happened but I was in shock from all the goals and the way we destroyed the dogs . I think that it comes with having watched it all through lockdown when usually I am (and I am sure many of you are) at every single game in Melbourne home or away. Not seeing the Grand Final win (or any game live since July 3rd) in the flesh seems to come with a weird kinda surreal detached emotion. Maybe it's because we didn't get to party or celebrate as a group of supporters would into the night. It's like its a dream, its still not quite real but I know it is and it was the most pure joy i've felt in my life.
  12. He wasn't quite as fit as they would have liked him to be and he didn't quite understand or execute the Melbourne role and style at that stage. When he came back in he played completely different to those 3 games. He will be even fitter and cause more problems next year
  13. I would say no as I am thinking purely during the Dean Bailey-Paul Roos 2008-2015 era where players were leaving after every season (I was pretty happy for Stephen Armstrong who we delisted. Bishop we traded for Pick 42 and went on to be pretty damn good)
  14. This could be the best bit about getting BBB on the list
  15. I didn't mind getting Angus Brayshaw for him in compensation, worked out ok ;)
  16. I think it was only James Frawley that got premiership success out of all the ship jumpers
  17. I finally got my stuff :)
  18. I can't believe I have still have received nothing. Todays the last day of the second time i've received the - delivery expected "within these 5 days window" notification tracking that Aus Post sends you. It annoys me to no end that Auspost are slower than a scomo vaccine rollout. I could have walked into the AFL shop today, purchased the same items and had them in my hands, instead they are still sitting in sunshine west sorting facility and have been since Monday 25th Oct after they finally picked up the order from the club on the 14th of October. Aus post's incompetence is mind boggling.
  19. I'm not an expert but I take an interest in watching some kids when I think they are a chance to be picked up by us. From what I’ve seen Taj is great below his knees, picks the ball up really cleanly and can kick with both feet. He doesn't get huge disposal numbers (mid 20s every game) but does a lot with it, good decision maker and he has gotten better as the year went on. Mainly played inside and outside midfield but he also has a bit of flexibility, his talents could developed to be used in a halfback role like Salem/Bowey or half forward role like Spargo/Neal Bullen role but I'm not sure on his tank. In the draft combine he was 2nd best in the 20m sprint with a blistering time of 2.89 seconds. He was captain of East Freo this year which is always a good sign in regards to a players character. I read an article yesterday on SEN saying he models his game on Steele Sidebottom and Mitch Duncan. From all reports he is driven and professional, so I think given the opportunity at the Demons he will flourish around players with similar hard work ethic like Brayshaw, Petracca etc We will probably use pick 49 on him.
  20. I wonder if he will ever play in a loss.
  21. I cant believe how bad the wait is for this merch. I ordered 3 things that were all in stock on the site the Monday after the Grand Final and am still waiting first time I got the tracking number it said between 20th-24th Oct now it says 27th-1st Nov with no update since Monday 25th
  22. Maybe someone selling those premiers records...."get your records here"
  23. We are gonna win 4 in a row, the improvement will come from 8 premiership players under 21
  24. I think by the end of his career he might be the best defender we have seen in the red and blue.
  25. I wouldn't do moving on the line but once they are two steps to the left or right I think the player should be allowed to move. I dont think they should be allowed to move if the player is moving straight on his line towards the man on the mark. I did notice in alot of games the umpire would tell the player to stand and it was nowhere near where the actual mark should be. so that needs to get fixed. Even with this stand rule we did still see players kick into the man on the mark so it's not as advantageous as it seems
