Phantom Drafts 2023
Current plan appears Windsor (6) then Tholstrup (11) but I wonder if we look at a different type of player with pick 11 if we manage to get Watson in earlier?

Phantom Drafts 2023
Calās latest mail is that weāve offered (or will) Pick 6 and F1st for Hawthornās pick 4 in a bid to get Watson. He didnāt indicate whether he believed this would be successful or not.

Phantom Drafts 2023
āFrom the 4 minutes-in-total of TAC Cup highlights Iāve seen on some grainy YouTube footage, here is my assessment of all 120 players in the draft pool and where they will fall on the eveningā

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
Young lad surely named after a cold tin so Iāll be going with ātinnyā as his nickname. Might even have one lined up to consume as they call out his name.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Plenty of nickname options, Iām favouring Knotty though (or Harry if he slides down the board)

Daniel Curtin
Went on a fishing trawler with Jaka somewhere out that way also

Phantom Drafts 2023
Or 6 for: Wet Toast future first + 3rd rounder this year

Phantom Drafts 2023
Agree but perhaps plan A for the acquisition of 11 was more about an attempt to bundle something up for pick 1. Plan B is a bundle for pick 3. Plan C is a good quality young player with 11. Plan Q is reeling in Demattia

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
He looks short in the clips

Connor O'Sullivan
warming to the idea of this guy. The draft isnāt for finding an immediate solution (Nick Daicos and a very-select few others are an exception to the rule) so we should have an eye on building for the future and Mayās end (and highly likely Petty departure) is the obvious issue over coming years

Trading pick 6
Likely because he is the only bloke that does them that either isnāt getting reliable mail or isnāt copying people who get reliable mail
-
Trading pick 6
Every phantom draft has Watson gone before our selection at 6
-
James Leake
On top of what @old55 said, there will also be something special about being wooed to become the first marquee players for the first club in Tasmaniaās history.

I have an inexplicable desire to purchase some steel and mesh

James Leake
Weād have to be looking at him as a mid/frwd option - no way Lexer and May would welcome a Leake in the backline

The Pick 1 Thread
Apols if this has been covered but Meth Coast social media account joking about the weakness of offers for pick 1 is weird.

Training Ground?
Not an expert in government policy, obligations or lobbying but I reckon there would be many examples of āgrossly inequitableā funding of sporting clubs. I coach a junior, inner-suburban football team. Our club is huge and heavily -subscribed but our facilities are beyond awful, we barely get a cent from the government. When we play the teams in āemerging suburbsā the disparity in facilities is mind-boggling. Some of these joints are better than Marvel.

The Pick 1 Thread
From what I have read, no reputable phantom drafts have happened yet. Cal Twomeys latest one was a ārankings listā which is different to a phantom draft (doesnāt consider team needs etc - just a list of best players). Just because he isnāt ārankedā inside the top 6 doesnāt mean they donāt believe he will go within the top 6. The reliable phantom drafts typically drop a few days out from the draft

The Pick 1 Thread
Norf will be doing everything in their power to make Wet Toast think Curtain wonāt get past pick #3. and Wet Toast will be doing everything in their power to make Norf think that the Eagles have convinced Curtain there is a warm bed for him back home if he gets chosen by a Vic club. Fascinating game of poker.

Training Ground?
Agree on all of the above. Government stumps up or we might be in trouble with this option. And sadly our state is staring down years of covid-response debt pain so the MFCās training facilities is hardly a priority. Iād imagine the āpublic valueā argument that Collingwood leveraged when they got funded would be difficult to use because my best guess is Caulfield are already delivering on that as part of the redevelopment.

Nate Caddy
Perfect. During interviews weāll get the idea in his head about coming home and then get him to request a trade home when Petty submits his Crom request.

Training Ground?
I know several people very close to the redevelopment at Caulfield. My understanding is they would happily welcome Melbourne there but Dees donāt have anywhere close to the $ they want (as it stands).
