  1. This story is playing out similarly to the Horne-Francis tenure at North. Ultimately Port still had to pay the fortune for JHF. All clubs can and do look past what is going on with him Reid this very moment. Both will be superstars.
  2. Time for a spell Demon Disciple. See you in 2 weeks.
  3. Time for a little spell on the sidelines Oxdee
  4. That feels like a moz to me
  5. I don’t know much about Henderson… what’s he good at? What role will he play on Sunday? Our forward line feels stodgy - hoping he’s good quick and accurate at the drop of the ball
  6. Why? If you have the right cattle and they’re fit I reckon you could take an overlap running game anywhere. And anytime.
  7. Not denying he is a good footballer but but fairly obscure target (and thread)
  8. Why is this happening in March?! Would’ve thought they seem to all coaching positions at the beginning of a pre-season, not the end.
  9. The ball would never get down there so it doesn’t matter
  10. I think anyone is. Not sure a tall is what they’re after though. Love the idea of the great man coming home but 2/3 first rounders that StK would pay for Jackson would probably be a wiser choice for us long term.
  11. “The AFL has concluded the audit and can confirm no rules were broken and no further action to be taken as it pertains to Geelong. Completely unrelated to the audit, we will be making sweeping changes to the salary cap system effective from today.”
  12. What about team selection on a Thursday night but in the format of the early 90s game show Man-O-Man where the whole squad lines up next to a swimming pool to be considered by the selection committee and those unsuccessful at the selection table get pushed into the pool one by one. On Fox Footy, hosted by Robbo who doesn’t even know half the names in each teams’ squads
  13. I expect the bowling pin costumes provide added protection via padding. Net net a safer outcome for 10x DA’ers
  14. One for the broader AFL; clearly weather is a risk for opening round at this time of year, wreaking havoc on a watertight fixturing process, so next year they should introduce a “Round -1” for contingency purposes
  15. I mean this with the utmost respect but he doesn’t strike me as the type that has ‘good’ pants
  16. Instead of the swirl-target in the DA behind goal to encourage accuracy, 10 x DA members dress up in bowling pin costumes, arrange themselves behind the goal for set shots and then all fall over dramatically as the ball sails through the middle
  17. Entire team + goal kicking coach has to run a lap of the oval (Indian file) at the end of each game for every behind kicked in the match.
  18. Imagine Mrs Jackson’s daggers at the Sunday night dinner table when Luke brings the squeeze over for a roast
  19. It is time to come home son 🥹
  20. I get what you mean but Brad was looking for impact, not a novel.
  21. Chin up Belly
  22. We also have a few unofficial nicknames; Melksham; Jake the Snake (as well as Milkshake) Koltyn: Tinnie Windsor: Duke Spargo; Spargy Pants Salem; Slalom Marty Hore: Deuce Gawn: Whaddya-mean-Maxy and Brad Green was always known affectionately to us as Booga.
  23. It hurts because our club hasn’t benefited greatly from the system but I think they are a necessary evil to keep the game growing at a grass roots level and to keep the best talent in the country away from other codes (particularly in northern states). And to keep them going there needs to be some benefit to the clubs who support them. I agree though that putting dibs on a player late in his junior career (with little involvement in his development to date) is an absolute farce.
  24. Haha what do you mean you can’t avoid it?! Just don’t click on it 🤣
  25. I don’t disagree re. the advertising
