  1. FB: McVee May Bowie HB: Rivers TMac Howes C: Langdon Viney Windsor HF: ANB Petty Chandler FF: Fritta JVR Kossie Fol: Gawn Petracca Oliver Int: Salem, Sparrow, Woewodin, Tholstrop Sub: Billings Out: Hunter, Thommo, McAdam, Disco In: JVR, Howes Tholstrop Tommo unlucky but i dont think we need 3 talls against Collingwoods forward line. Woey into the starting line up. Disco or Petty i don't really care, both showing they are backmen not fwds, but they are both better than what we have in the VFL. Would like to see Kolt get a go think this kid can be our next Petracca. In time!
  2. Almost 100 point loss to one of the worse offensive sides in the comp statically. That is a very very bad loss. Do we need to throw this new gameplan out the window ?as i don't think we have the cattle for it. Which woukd mean reverting back to out old long to the pocket gameplan, which i have never had an issue with.
  3. Sweat doesn't come from the sky, it comes from a 30 degree day running around
  4. Not so much the weather, its always sweaty. in the past players have worn sweat bands ect.
  5. Yeh, he had injuries. Got back to good form in the VFL and a few AFL games last year then was delisted.
  6. Another couple of midfield depth players i think we should be looking at that can fill the void left by Jordon and Harmes is Toby McLean and Rhys Mathieson. These guys both can play at the AFL level and at a pretty good standard for back ups. Que the Rhys hate, which i do not like the guy either.
  7. Yup, like this move. good solid player. Beautiful long kick on him too
  8. is another one that maybe, but isn't gonna have impact this year. None of these players are an answer to our needs. Teakle is ruck back up, and is some midfielders that can be depth. but nothing there is walking into our best side
  9. i sort of agree. But he hasn't really had a go at it. Like give him a run at it like we did Billings and let him settle into his role.
  10. We have been bad in the past, but we were a lot better in the slippery game against Carlt, just that first quarter
  11. If those conditions are that way i think it would be a JVR and Fritta job with smalls around. Maybe Petracca has more time fwd. The team balance will be the issue, Woey doesn't look to be a fwd type so he wont come in, so a Tholstrup or Laurie maybe. Could be a chance for Seston to get a taste.
  12. This is a big game! Freo are a good team without being outstanding. very defensive and if its hot and sweaty in Alice it could be very low scoring. Id say no change at this stage but if it does look like being a slippery ball kind of game, maybe a smaller fwd line is a good idea.
  13. Will not have the AFL body or endurance. Is a reason he has dominated the WFL for so long and never got an opportunity. Not to mention he isn't even in the 24 players that have been asked to take a medical prior to the draft. Has he even nominated?
  14. Hunter - 20 possies at 70% accuracy far from poor Chandler - 18 possies, a goal and 6 score involvements that's exactly the type of game you want from these guys!!
  15. Impressed with a close to 4 quarter effort which we have rarely done in recent years. Thoughts on Hunter's inclusion, i have been a big advocate for Hunter for a couple of weeks now. He is AFL smart and that can't be forgotten regardless off VFL form. He does do some frustrating things but i really like his smarts and ball use in our team, and i really like the idea of a 3 man wing rotation meaning we have run all game. All had good games, but wow our captain is something else. And when all is said and done he will be the greatest ruckman of all time. People don't like to call it on current day players but once he is done and you read his CV, it's him!
  16. yup 100% i do think our Midfield is very thin with losing Gus, Sparrow hasn't taken that next step unfortunately. Hopefully JT has something up his sleeve
  17. A list of former AFL listed players that have nominated. I was keen on Teakle at the start of the year and think we should seriously look at him. The few games he played for port he showed he was a capable ruckman and not bad up fwd either. At least a good backup if anything happened to max. The other worth looking at is Bianco, good footballer who maybe needed that drive after being delisted to get to the next level. I really think Teakle is a go though, i have heard from a couple of Port people i know he may have attitude issues though.
  18. Please be Billings! Goody also said in his presser that Seston is closing in. I have a feeling he could be a very good Sub player.
  19. I think you highlighted my point. Of that list you put up there is 1 Key position player. And Picket was an SSP yes but was also an AFL player before that. Midfielders you will find. Key position you wont. You can argue that about the Key fwds but the fact is there are very few Key fwds and Def in the AFL, so if they are worth it they would be listed. Big difference to being a good stay at home forward in the lower levels compared to covering 8-12km per game in the AFL.
  20. 20 years old and not even 2 seasons in. The kid isn't ready, and doesn't have the build like JVR to hold up at AFL level.
  21. Unfortunately rucks and key fwds that are not already in AFL systems are no good. They dont have the fitness base and 0 idea of systems. This is why teams switch players positions rather than grab lower level Key positions. Very few SSP players have had success at AFL level let alone Key position. This would work however if you are taking someone with the view of the future and developing them. But that won't help us this yr
  22. I'm sure this has been done before, but i need to take my mind off the game on the weekend. Who in the current AFL system is your favourite couple of players outside of the Dees? Im not talking best/gun players just players you like to watch! For me its : Errol Gulden and Dan Houston Both classy players that look smooth with ball in hand.
  23. Woey isn't a winger, i actually like him as a lock down back pocket. Hunter is 183cm and a nugget, we need footy smarts. Running gets you nothing if it's to the wrong spots, and unfortunately our guys are not good at that. If we coukd find another 2 Windsors id be happy!! Im not asking for Hunter to get 20 and kick 2. But if he has 15 and goes at 80% thats what we need atm. Which is suppost to be what Billings is for
  24. Who cares about future, he is a solid AFL standard player. We have a list that can push for top 4 this year, he is a part of that. Our midfield is very thin after losing Dunstan, Harmes, Jordan. Unfortunately our kids are too small, Hunter is a bigger body and has good ball use. We need a bit of stability and smarts in the middle of the ground, he is a better option than Billings.
  25. FB: Bowie May McVee HB: Rivers Petty TMac C: Langdon Viney Windsor HF: ANB Fritsch Kossie FF: Chandler JVR McAdam Fol: Gawn Oliver Petracca Int: Salem Sparrow Hunter Howes Woewodin(Sub) In: Langdon, JVR, Hunter Out: Lever(inj), Brown, Billings Petty to def to cover Lever and get a bit of form, give McAdam another go and use he and Fritsch as lead up fwds in a smaller fwd line. Hunter comes in for some midfield depth and ball use. Langdon and JVR no brainers.
