I'm sold. Top 4 here we come!
-
Matt Rowell looks like he can become elite but how many games has he played?
-
I don’t pay too much heed to champion data since they rated our list the best in the comp before the 2019 season. It’s just guesswork.
-
Use our depth players 2 of Weid, TMac and M Brown as tall options Fritch as medium with Petracca rotating through. Tidy up our I50 delivery to give the forwards a better chance to mark will help I’ll be as disappointed as anymore if BB is out but this is why you have cover.
-
It’ll be a disappointment if he’s out for a spell but injuries are a fact of life. The good teams just get on with it.
-
Watched the Richmond game yesterday. They’re a pretty limited outfit. As long as we don’t get complacent we should beat them.
-
The response by Eddie to this report vindicates entirely the whole thrust of the report namely: 1. Eddie has too much influence and no-one at the club is prepared to challenge him 2. Bury the report rather than show true leadership 3. Spin like crazy when the leak occurs because more interested in protecting the brand Collingwood had a golden opportunity to admit to past failings, commit to change and perhaps even forge a path that other clubs and institutes could follow. If they had done that I would have commended them. Instead, because no-one there has the gumption to stand up to Eddie they have dug a bigger hole for themselves and compounded matters. I love watching Collingwood squirm but in this instance the issue transcends tribalism. I can’t believe the board at one of the biggest sporting clubs in Australia has stuffed this up so badly. Another missed opportunity to start the process of genuine reconciliation that this country badly needs.

I've no preference. whoever shows the most in pre-season should get the spot.
-
Agree with all of that DS A good win to start the season and plenty of positives. We’ll have to play another 2-3 games to get a proper read on our form but the other negatives for me were: Same day travel. Started sluggishly and ran out gas in the last. If the Suns had more belief I reckon they could have run us closer. Zander not imposing herself and seems to be lacking in confidence. Dropped an easy mark in the 4th near the top of the square. She’s got the talent but doesn’t show it consistently enough. She reminds a little of the Weid in this regard. Shelley Scott couldn’t get going at all. Looking forward to getting along to Casey next weekend to cheer the girls along and to see a live game of footy. It’s been too long.

We've run out of gas. This could get nervy.
-
McNamara showing plenty. She looks like a great pick-up.
-
Lauren Pearce dominant. we missed her badly last year.
-
Great to see Tegan Cunningham take marks and kick goals. Lovely shimmy to wrong foot the defender and draw the free for her second. She's one of my favorites. 13 possies to Paxman in that quarter. Machine.
-
Hopefully we can settle after those 2 goals. Too much fumbling and double grabbing up to now.
-
Just said on the pre-game commentary that the team flew up this morning at 7.30am. Hardly ideal. Hopefully no sluggishness once the game gets underway.
-
It's a worry for sure given his history but at least its an area where we have good depth. Harmes or Jordan to step into the breach perhaps!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN

Plenty of sensible comments here regarding tempering expectations but there’s no doubt this kid has attributes and qualities to get excited about. Every training report I’ve seen mentions how he stood out, caught the attention. Maybe that’s just because he’s a big unit and hard to miss but perhaps its because he is genuinely talented and already having an impact. Its quite possibly he’ll fail to fire and fade away like plenty of draftees before him but I’m quite bullish about his prospects. I’m looking forward to see him play and hopefully the reality will match the hype. -
Really looking forward to watching the game this afternoon and hopefully the girls can do the red and blue proud. Go Dees

Only a hardcore demon would brave today’s weather. 10 out of 10 for commitment to the cause. Can’t wait to see Rosman play. By the sounds of it Round 1 is more than a possibility.
-
Was much better in defence than the on the wing that’s for sure. He’s our best option for 3rd tall defender at the moment but I’m hoping Petty can get over his injuries and take his spot in the team. Tomlinson is a solid citizen but I think Petty’s upside is far greater.
-
Another game we coughed up. We let Freo build up a lead early, then huffed and puffed to finally get our noses in front late in the 4th only to switch off at the death leaving McCarthy on his own to collect the ball over the top and kick the winning goal. Rotten defending. I remember cos I kicked the seat in front in disgust.

He’s seems to have an X factor about him. Physically he’s going to be a beast. He has a strong grab, is quick and tall and has a good tank judging my his time trials. His skills are an unknown at the moment. Would love to see him get a run during pre-season so we can see what he can do with the ball in hand. -
Kozzie focusing on his snaps at goal. If he can steady and slot those chances rather than snatching at them he'll have taken a huge step in his development and effectiveness.

Three talls up front won't work. May in his article on the AFL website yesterday stated the plan this year was to lock the ball into forward 50 so we need more smalls for that. TMac and Melksham out for Spargo and next best small (whoever is training the best, perhaps one of the newbies)
