Emonson got the nod to replace Daisy. I reckon it's the right call. McEvoy didn't impress me this year when she played. There's a long hard road ahead for North. We've been through ourselves so i feel for them.

Agree Tigers and Port will be tough to beat. doggies as well. west coast in perth But i reckon we can win enough games to be Top 4.

There is one thing better than that! beating them by one point....after the siren

Brisbane’s season was on the line, 4 goals down and playing poorly. I thought they were gone. Huge win for them The positive for mine from watching these opening rounds and looking at the Lions, Pies, Geelong, Carlton etc. is that they are all beatable. The Dees have nothing to fear from any of them. We maintain our form and add in BB, maybe Weid and start kicking straight then no reason why a Top 4 spot isn’t right there for the taking.

  9. The principle of caveat emptor has been around for a long time. Always do your DD no matter who you are dealing with. As a supporter all i care about is: · how much is the deal worth · have they the capacity to pay

This is the first time in a long time that we have genuine competition for places. Nobody can rest on their laurels. No one will be gifted games ala Melks last year. You don’t want to be dropped from this team at the moment because it won’t be easy to get back in. If you’re in the 2’s you know you have to work hard, be professional and be ready to take your chance if it presents itself. Nothing like competitive tension to keep everybody hungry and on their toes. Great position to be in and bodes well for the rest of the season.
  11. The comparisons to Cyril Rioli have been made before but against the saints was the first time it was really evident to me. Took his goals brilliantly, great pressure, zip and spark. The air crackles when he gets the ball. He's a game changer. Such a buzz to see him running around in the red and blue.

Paxman is a dead set legend. Full stop. This comp has been going for 5 years and this is here 5th AA selection. Remarkable consistency. She should be on our banner @Demonland

Goldrick would have been a cert if she hadn't missed games through injury
  14. There will always be ups and downs P2J. Hopefully the team is now mature enough not to let his departure knock them off their stride.
  15. How long is he contracted for? He's on big coin i believe so there's probably a saving there. Not sure whether the club will fight hard to keep him. If he wants to be close to his family then the right thing to do is let him leave. The team are in great nick from a conditioning perspective so hopefully he has established the program and the team that will carry on his good work when he moves on.

Exciting news. I can;t wait to see BB play for us but i hope the club err on the side of caution with his rehab and recovery. Make sure he is 100% right before putting him in the side. TMac has stepped into the breach in his absence (never thought i'd write that) and we've won our games so no need to rush him back.

I agree they are not like for like The trade-off is Weid offers more reliable goal kicking v the defensive effort Fritsch brings (which he wasn’t bringing last year btw). I like Fritsch but his goal kicking is off. We have kossie and Spargo to bring the forward pressure. He’s in the team to kick goals and he’s not doing it at the moment. If Fritsch starts to kick straight then he stays in for mine. But if he doesn’t he’ll be dropped and will have to go back to Casey to work on his technique and re-build his confidence.

Our womens team are playing a final on Saturday afternoon. You should check it out. It'll help you pass the time while you wait for the mens game.
  19. Are you sure or just guessing?
  20. Depends which version of Kelly you get. The 2018/2019 version was A grade. Since then he has been quite poor.
  21. Kelly needs a change of scenery. His best was excellent so the regression must be down to motivational factors No way he commands $1m or anything close based on current form. You’d only consider bringing him in if you could pick up relatively cheaply. No idea how we’d work it but if we ended up with Kelly and had to sacrifice Gus I’d consider it. But you would have to be sure that he hasn't settled for the easy life. No passengers allowed.

Adelaide count is quite pronounced but probably just an anomaly given just 2 games in. Other than than looks like a typical bell curve. Probably runs counter to a lot of people's biases e.g Geelong get preferential treatment from the umps.

It's all between the ears for us this week Turn up, switched on, ready to battle and we win If our attitude is wrong it will be unforgivable

Has any player regressed more over the last couple of seasons than Josh Kelly? A shadow of his former self. Coniglio had a crack early but Kelly looked totally disinterested and has done for a while. I was a big fan of his and was hoping we might make a play for him but i'm starting to change my mind. Agree with you about this being a danger game. This is a final stand for them. Go 0-3 and its a long road to finals. I reckon they'll have a dip for a quarter or so but if we withstand the early storm we will win comfortably.

I think Jackson in the relief ruck role has been very effective and allowed Max to head back and take defensive marks. I'd keep him in. What about Weid for Fritsch? He has played well in terms of defensive efforts and taking grabs but his goal kicking is off. Weid is a more reliable kick for goal but defensive pressure not his strong suit but i think we can mange with charlie and kozzie applying the front half pressure. Great problems to have.
