  1. We have the cash from the sale of the Leighoak club las year. After clearing debts we had approx $7m left over. Not sure how much we've had to dip into this to tide us over.
  2. I may be wrong but it doesn’t appear that an external party is assisting with the review which makes me very sceptical about its value. We’ll see what eventuates but I expect to see some significant changes. I’ll be mightily disappointed if we get another whitewash like last year.
  3. I think we’re all jumping at shadows. Take a few deep breaths and relax.
  4. 10 years in the job and only one finals appearance. He's had a good go at it but it time for a change. Not sure shunting Richo into the GM role as has been mentioned makes sense though.
  5. There’ll be plenty of competition for Brown. He’ll have no problems finding a new home. This bloke kicked 60 odd goals 3 years running and he’ll be 28 next season. So what if he’s a lead into space forward. If that’s the case then change the game plan to kick it into the space that he leads into! (I know, I know. our inside 50 delivery has to improve as well). He would straighten us up, take the pressure off Weid (who’s a no 2 forward anyways) and allow Jackson to develop in his own time. The only reason he’s on the market is that North are having some sort of collective brain spasm. Nobody knows what North are trying to achieve including North themselves I suspect. North’s inside 50 delivery this year was reminiscent of us in 2019. Absolutely putrid. Wayne Carey would have struggled to get his hands on it. Brown’s carried an injury this year as well so his reduced output is easily explained. We obviously need to do a thorough medical but if his fitness checks out we should try to bring him in.
  6. I think they will beat Geelong as well but I think the party ends for them against the Lions. The lions will be hard to stop from here. They got the monkey off the back against Richmond and play at home. Huge advantage.
  7. Nah. The pies won’t win the flag from here. They finished 8th for a reason. They were exceptional last night but everything fell there way. Accuracy, output from Cox (doubtful that will repeat), free kick count. A couple of miracle goals. Zero expectation which always helps. They have plenty of travel ahead of them and have to beat 3 of Geelong, Lions and either Richmond or Port in the final. It can’t be done.
  8. Daicos played very well last night. The pies have cap constraints so I don’t think its wishful thinking to have go. Can’t see it happening mind. Mihocek on the other hand could be gettable. Most underrated player in the league. Someone has to be squeezed out at the pies and it could well be him.
  9. If we did end up with Leppitsch and Yze and retain the rest of the top brass we’d have a very top heavy set-up. I’d question Richo’s role. Bringing on experienced assistants would make his role redundant you’d think. Mahoney has to be skating on thin ice as well although I’ve no idea who might replace him and haven’t heard anything either. Looking forward to seeing what the outcome of this review is. Very interesting times indeed.
  10. Pies played very well. I fancy them to beat Geelong next week.
  11. love seeing the west coast get beat in Perth and their feral supporters losing their minds.
  12. Thats some goal from De Goey
  13. West Coast have the most feral obnoxious crowd in the AFL.
  14. Big Cox looks switched on tonight.
  15. Leppitsch would be a great get but I’m sure wouldn’t be cheap. Yze is highly rated and will have to be renumerated accordingly. Burgess would be on top dollar. Goodwin, Richo, Mahoney and the rest. Genuine question. How do we cut costs to fit under the cap and at the same time afford to pay all of the above?
  16. You’re right. We are miles off. I’d also say Those teams are well drilled with everyone clear about their roles. We're not. Those teams bring consistent application and effort. We don’t. Those teams bring pressure. Real pressure. Sometimes we do. Those teams are well coached. We most certainly are not. Looks like we’ll shake up the coaching supporting cast as part of this FD review. It’ll make no difference. The fish rots from the head.
  17. Massive score review there.
  18. A dusty martin turnover! That never happens in finals time.
  19. We're no where near this level.
  20. He's painful to listen to.
  21. I agree with this. The reality is COVID has severely hampered list management plans. The draft is a lottery, nothing happening in the state leagues and reduced caps and list sizes means we have to pretty much make do with what we’ve got. Sparrow is worth a contract but I’m not sold long term. Still has plenty to prove. Smith purely as depth is just about palatable. Petty showed plenty in the back end of 2019 but missing a full season injured is always a worry. Hopefully burgess can get him right. I think Jones is cooked playing wise but he may have some coaching ability. Stalwart of the club so worth a punt imv.
  22. There are plenty of so called experts who know jack s**t about the game despite presenting themselves as knowledgeable. I think there’s a description for it, Expert fallacy. Because someone is an “expert” their view or opinion is somehow more authoritative. Ex-players, commentators, journalists and coaches talk a fair amount of dribble. Clichés and banalities. Insulting our intelligence most of the time. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve heard Goodwin say one intelligent thing during his press conferences. Clarkson on the other hand.. There are plenty of posters on this site that know more about footy than the so called experts (there’s a fair bit of nonsense to wade through as well though) and whose opinion I respect far more. Please continue to post your considered and logical comments axis.
  23. McAvaney got on my nerves throughout. His hyperventilating when danger scored that goal nearly made me spew!
