  1. Surely this is the main point. He choose to turn and collect him with his shoulder? Isn’t the question they have been asking all season - “ how could he have avoided the contact?” By not choosing to hit him with his shoulder!! He had other options
  2. His Ruck tactics is to try and inflict damage including serous knee damage to his opposition by lead with his knees I personally would have a beautiful glass of signal malt if that tactic came back to ruin him.
  3. He made the decision to turn and hit Gus with his shoulder. We are protecting the head and very serious injury no?!
  4. And how come the yank [censored] gets a few hit at Max every first centre bounce. Hate him more than any other player
  5. You have got to be kidding me?!?! MRO have been about three things all season- the outcome ie what happen to the player he hit and whether he hit the head. Also how could he avoided the situation- he was front on and decided to turn side on and collect Gus with his shoulder. Should get 4 weeks.
  6. Going to be a long day. Haven’t been nervous all week but stomach is now in knots. Still a chance of rain. I’m know others have stated that all Tmac has to do is create a contest, bring the ball to ground and keep Moore accountable and I agree do that and we are well on our way to winning. However an early goal from him would really settle my nerves. Cmon Dees
  7. I did see a rumour on another site (big footy) that Croft may not nominate the dogs. I assume due to their tall stocks and perhaps a lack of opportunity in the future.
  8. I assume @Nascent meant that GS other picks could be also be split. Certainly 28&31 and probably 42 could be split to gain even more points in this years draft. Likewise if the received a late first rounder as part of the deal for pick 4 it would probably be split again to gain maximum points value. I don’t think the Suns will have much difficulty obtaining enough points for their academy players and get one or two nice picks for next years draft.
  9. May is still playing well but he’s showing signs that age is catching up with him and will be 32 at the start of next season. I think replacing him should be a priority at this draft with both Curtain and O’Sullivan top of the list. Both have mature frames already and could have an impact next season. We have shown in the past that we are a fan of the buy now pay later drafting and I think that’s the way we should go again. Im hoping we have two top 10 picks and get either Curtain( unlikely ) or Connor O’Sullivan and any one of Mckercher, Duursma or Watson. With bit of luck whoever we pick will be able to have an impact next year in the same way Jackson, Kossie and Rivers did. Recruit quality for now and the future.
  10. Another thing to consider is that if we can’t get the deal done for GS pick 4 that doesn’t mean we can still get involved in it. If we trade for GWS pick 7, Cats pick 8 or Dogs pick 10 we strengthen their hand to get the deal done with GS. Still manage to have 2 top 10 picks.
  11. I think future first with pick 34 going back the other way would be about right. They will back themselves in to improve next year with him in the team and if they end up in the top 4 next year they would come out in front in terms of trade points but we would snare another first round pick.
  12. We met with him in the middle of last season when he was a Collingwood player. Can’t really complain that he’s had a meeting with Port after the home and away season. Future first or we hold him to his contract.
  13. Hope he stays but wouldn’t mind another death ride next year if he does go.
  14. I mentioned him a few weeks back after watching him come on as a sub and have an impact. Think it’s sort of trade that could suit all parties. We get a key forward/Ruck that should have bigger impact than Shack or Weid to cover while Jefferson develops. Suns get him off their list as they have Walters and at least two other academy players coming in and he gets to join the premiers.
  15. I wonder if another club is going to trump us for Suns pick 4 we might look to upgrade from 5 to 4. You would think 5&34 would get it done. Given the interest their will be in a top 5 pick the Suns will probably be able to get same trade done for 5 as they will for 4. Seems like there’s a top bracket of player in the first 5/6 picks. Moving up one spot might be the difference of getting the one we really want. Clearly having both 4&5 would be a better outcome.
  16. Academy players tend to slide down the draft as teams know they won’t be getting them and keeping a club honest might come back to burn you in future drafts. Walters might go 2 but I’d expect the others to drop back a bit. Suns are already well stacked with picks and will be able to further spilt picks 28&31. Plus they will get more picks in if Flanders leaves They will still need to get a bit more draft capital to cover academy picks this year but I think they will be keener to get good picks for next years draft.
  17. Port also have their future first, Grundy and pick 34 for their future first?!
  18. Nope wasn’t asked. But isn’t Tom’s foot injury one that will constantly have to be managed? Bit like BBB,s knee. Hopefully they have it cherry ripe for a 6 week period.
  19. Agreed. If and it’s a massive if we could get peak Tmac for 3 games then it would be massive for our flag chances. Kinda feels like it’s lining up that way too with how everything has been timed. He normally needs a few weeks to get up and going after an injury and it sounds like he has been building form in the VFL. Will get another run this week. Goody in his post match presser gave the high performance team most of the credit for getting Fritter back in such good form. Let’s hope they also have another big win with Tmac’s form when we need it most.
  20. Watched Goody on 360 last night. When asked about Tmac form. He said it was great to have him kicking goals but it’s his movement that they are most impressed with said he will definitely get his chance over the coming weeks. Edit just listened to what Goody said again-“ it’s not really the way he has performed, it’s the way he has moved, he’s back moving to his best, he’s injury free and feeling free in his body and Tom at his best is a really important player for us. He’s put himself in the selection mix and an opportunity is certainly going to come his way at some stage” Big praise from Goody
  21. Bookmakers have Pies as $1.84. All the talk will be about them before the game. I’m fine with us being the underdog. Going to be a very tight close game but the way we have been running out final quarters over the past month has me confident we win a close one. Think this is huge. Winner wins the flag in my opinion. Can’t wait.
  22. Devastated for him. He’s been great tail end of the season and was looking like he might get the fairytale finish to his career. Instead it’s looking like nightmare finish. Seems wrong to just let him leave the club with his knee rooted. Could we delist him and then pick him up as a rookie? Or have him work with our forwards in some capacity?
  23. What a [censored] way to finish his career. Has been in great form and big chance to grab a premiership medal that would never been very deserved.
  24. I think a lot is going to depend on what package if any the AFL hand North. I hope they don’t get pick 3 for McKay. But if they get access to Sanders they will want as many picks in the top 6/7 as possible as they will want picks before someone calls his name out.
  25. Welcome back Luci. Hope you had fantastic holiday.
