  1. Hasn't stopped you commenting on his selection Despite very little knowledge. Has been advice in this years training reports on our website and in D/L ers and Ben Gibson's interview with JJ. I can't remember also any time seeing on TV or live JJ but the noise and comment give me the abdolute confidence that we may have a new mid ( in or out) in our team this season and that is enough to get me excited for our improvement in 2021.
  2. Many of the reasons Given will not necessarily be prevalent in 2 mths time as WA and NSW will ( should be) totally birder free as all other states. YES nothing is in other than proposed print and we know the AFL!!! But the first 6 weeks are they say in stone !! Barring a Covid breakout in any particular state or city.
  3. Boydie yes same for AFL and BBL plus Test cricket in the Gabba Trust ( Qld style MCC area ) area fir both seasons. I have posted this about 3 times but either not read or notice taken and explained that seat traceability is the reason and a ground pass ( ie members ticket ) with no seat (unless some arrangement for Reserved seat holders is Arranged) is not sufficient to trace. Importantly members ticket holders DO NOT have any fees charged for the $0.00 seat ticket Necessary to Enter the ground and remain all day at.
  4. I'll back Rosman to make the grade he has so far given every reason to believe he may be the real thing! Possibly Round 1 on the wing. No outstanding competitor putting their hand up and please don't say Tmac. He is needed up forward or down back (yesDrD) If his current Pre season form continues depending upon availability or selection policy.
  5. You really are a killjoy at times OD Think he meant the real enjoyment of the song is the winning!!! I'll take Grand Old Glad any day and don't rate the other songs at all Hate to hear them.
  6. Have you answered your own questionFD? $75,000 was he worth it I don't think so. I watched some MCG games up to 1965 then every week games in Melbourne to 1992 till I moved interstate to work. that's 27 years by about 18 games per season plus 30 other prior totalling over 500 games !!!! I have no recollection of Tilly being a catalyst to the Dees improvement while he was playing for us. IOW we made a poor decision to pay him so much. We were not screwed by him we made that decision and Rjay has now admitted he didn't describe GWS decision correctly. What we paid Todd Viney and Earl Spalding in 1987 when they joined was more realistic for example and worth the money.
  7. FD Do you really think that he performed up to the $$$ spent? Did he improve us much? Was the money worth it? I think NO is the answer to all of those questions. We were about a mid table team the year he joined I reckon and didn't improve IMO with Diamond Jim on board. My point is that we made the decision to offer big $$$ and you are not screwed if you make that decision. You are responsible for your own decisions and GWS was in the Scully scenario with his Dad also.
  8. Rjay great That you commented again. My point is why have Crocodile tears for GWS who made a decision to overpay for Tom and his Dad. That's not being screwed that's making a bad business decision just the same as all Clubs make on certain players overpaying them eg. Carlton Mitch McGovern Melbourne John Tilbrook
  9. That's fine you are entitled to your opinion RM. Yes disagree on Fritsch on a wing is one but you were very bullish about switching him there in one post Then it was I believe a TMac swap as well I think. Now you like me don't want Tommy on the wing fir any substantial time.! but you also dont want Baker ( or dont think he is up to it) That's why I believe Rosman Is the guy pushing all the way to Round1.
  10. DR As i have previously Posted in this topic ( having been through the AFL Covid crowd conditions in 2020 as a member of the Gabba Trust ( think MCC Members tiny replica) all groups are considered in the reduction of crowds scenario. However the word PRIORITY is not mentioned anywhere in Covid conditions but TRACABILITY is the underlying non negotiable in all ticket transactions. So much so that at the 50% reduced crowd numbers for the recent 4th Test Cricket Covid seating and distancing featured. Last night The same purchase arrangements and ground terms and conditions featured although 75% or full ground capacity was approved and our section had everyone next to each other with the most members since the 2019 Test and AFL season. So D/L ers expecting to retain their option to walk into an choose a seat are going to be disappointed. All attending must get a ticket ( even members with "reserved seats" will need to) To enable all attending to able to be traced if necessary. No charge or $0.00 is on your ticket and only Gen admission purchases are mostly loaded with the $5/7 ticket booking surcharge. Happy Days at the G!
  11. Think you will be wrong on both counts DD although you may have some insider gossip or training secret! If no others put their hand up as strongly as Fraser Then he had a great chance of Round 1 debut in front of the Demon faithful on the G! And he is making the wing his own so far If the notes and hype are true from Casey Fields onlookers. One thing is his favour undoubtedly is his ready made physique and another his extreme tank and pace. interesting times ahead no doubt!
  12. DZ Have just realised after reading Deespicables training report that Charlie Spargo May well be your no6!! I overlooked him but that's good as he is doing all the right things improving His ball winning pace and competitiveness. Adding his exquisite disposal and team skills this a bonus For our forward line and cream on cake for 2021. His form may prevent the natives leashing on him now that Oscar is in lockdown elsewhere!
  13. Dee Zone that is Exactly why I like you are so bullish about 2021 being a big year for improvement I would live to know your six but will try and predict mine. 1. JJ the interview on the website ( and on D/L ) shows where he is at and he looks ready to debut Reminds me of a kid prior to Christmas knowing he is going to get given his requested toy and can't wait. Not sure if I have even seen JJ play on the TV. 2. Sparrow is Another believer Who just is in the groove following a cameo role in games in the middle of 2020. Bridged the gap To AFL and looks ready for more under our new coaching setup. BTW if these 6 players are important to our rise then think again the how big Ooze and Chocco are in this scheme of things!! 3. Jackson untapped potential like 1 and 2 who was injured at The business end of the season. Bigger stronger and like a young colt ready for the Spring 3 yo races Dogga will knot up the forward connection, compete not once but repeat in the ruck and won't hand the opposition a sniff of advantage when relieving bud Maxy. Oh and his superb handball and below knees skills will thrill us supporters. Strong hopes for some goals up forward as well. 4. Kossie Will put any of the doubters to shame with a big list of chases tackles runs speccies attempted and goals as a highlight as he Zigs and zags through our middle and forward lines. Composure the key to finishing his efforts. 5. Riv The quiet achiever Already a lock on the half back line with some pretension for cameos in the middle! It's about 5 mins Remaining vs GWS and a seemingly innoculous strike with his left foot floats amazingly through the middle to give us a 10 point lead. It's his second career goal for the game and he follows up with a lunging punch Over the boundary at half back in the last 30 seconds To ensure our win over the Giants. We're in good hands when Rivs around the ball as cool calm and confident footy decisions and skills are the trademark of this tyro. 6. Locky Not sure you will Have Jay In your list but I believe he is a natural back pocket small Forward minder who breaks lines goes aggressively at the ball on ground and in the air and hopefully doesnt dive on it too often Enthusiastically so the Umps can ping him for Holding. Another who will be stronger fitter and confident in his position ready to Lead the charge downfield. Thats the 6 but wait our steak knives could well be Bowey Laurie and Rosman as well. ( Sounds like a legal team!). Signs are good early on for the trio with Fraser's big VFL frame, enormous tank With pace, and strong marking grip he will be No 7 very early on in 2021. Let the games begin DZ!!
  14. Sorry Apologies to Lord Nev and Joel Smith who both could have been in Interchange or if not fit enough in that category.
  15. Practice Match Team B Lockhart May Lever HB Rivers Tomlinson Hunt C Langdon Petracca Salem HF Spargo McDonald Fritsch F Pickett B.Brown Weideman R Gawn Oliver Viney Inter. Melksham Baker Rosman Harmes Jackson Sparrow Jordan Neal-Bullen Not ready for Match Practice Yet. Hibberd Brayshaw Petty vandenBerg This list is our best 30 players from 2020 list and our new recruits. Bowey Laurie and Bedford could be included if form or injury warrant.
  16. The $5 fee is not charged to members who are only getting a seat. Badically the member is Only getting a seat allocation ticket for tracing purposes so UGTBK you are Wrong! Yes Covid has reduced many Families with any optional spending but the $5 fee has been constant fir non members just casually going to games at most venues! Gen Admission will pay the fee!!
  17. DR he improved last year did more and ga a hand in winning Pies and GWS games He has muscled up and reports are that he is playing by far his footy In his 4 th pre season so I believe that and hope he is as he has some excellent traits especially with ball in hand and scores resulting Uiu May wan ti revise your instant no and give him a chance as all the youngsters are improving and he is one of them.
  18. I reckon it's a close call but does Merrett actually impact and influence games to the extent Kelly or Clarry do.? He does involve himself in very short passing and is a bit one paced if you really look at him. Kelly plays more games That GWS sun because of his style and effect than Merrett firs first Essendon. Merrett is not really a goal kicker also I reckon. Kelly for me.
  19. Another half glass empty D/L. Did this happen last year and the.% of downturn was? we are as I posted about 1500 down from last year at this stage when I last week spoke to a Membership officer of the Club. Now I don't know if any if your MCC mates are In this 1500 or the 2019 12,000 Downturn most of which would have been caused by performance (injuries aside) along with some Covid capitulators Which both are Excuses and reasons at the same time in my opinion. So attempting to assume that some MCC/MFC payers might reneg due to possible Covid game prevention in 2021 isn't really adding any real evidence to date IMO. Regrettably that might cause the downturn by even mentioning it.!!! I believe a good winning start in the first 5 games say 4-1 and losing only closely to Cats Or 5 close games and 2 losses will be a bright start if we are kicking goals especially and say BBB has played well and converted. I think it's reasonable to assume a spike in the figure with the excitement generated that we ate very much on the right track!
  20. That's because you are not excited OD.
  21. Probably after Maysie retires with at least one year with the hand on pthe Cup.
  22. Also managed a Normie In 2015 and bought about 3/5 ,000 more fans to Hawthorns membership and crowds plus has made Dermies heart a little more Inclined to palpitations.
  23. Good point HFF totally agree with your comment on his occasion.
