  1. Sorry but this basketball debate does not add anything to our teams 2021 season and would not be occupying any of the Coaches thoughts on how to improve our team. i am surprised these posts are accepted as they are not really on the topic of AFL
  2. Kicking off the ground is the lazy and unskilled (weak) option. Normal routine before a game is preparing the way you trained unless the conditions change weather wise or at the ground. Kicking off the ground is the last option on most circumstances.
  3. They are trained the correct way to get it in their hands where a decision can be made on disposal. Kicking off the ground is for wet and muddy days primarily.
  4. Thanks FD it's much better than a reality check
  5. Maxy is great but not at the On ground Placement etc.and tactics other than ruck IMO. Jack is a whole hearted footballer who tends to lead by example but again footy tactics are not his Forte except see ball get ball and knock out whoever is in the way. Maysie has the best balance of on field tactics in defence not sure all over the ground but others in leadership can cover this whether official or not.as we grow Trac Brown and Langers plus the Coaches should assist this aspect much more than in the past. In the meantime we recruit players with footy nous like Rivers and others that are able to read and be responsible fir our tactics and plans to be practised almost automatically in conjunction with our game plan.
  6. I didnt say about culture bring different for May at GC snd not at MFC. GC had no culture or very bad. We are developing ours gradually starting from Roosy but Goody has let it slip. Wr need to get it back and Gawny in his 2nd year might do better but with Jack Maysie snd say Trac and Langers the players can be more influential from a leadership group sort of aspect. But you can't blame Gawny and Jack when Players fo stupid things. They can't stop them but they can decide upon fair and Necessary discipline if necessary.
  7. Thanks OD for your honest opinion. JJ was very close last year in getting a game about 4 games to go but injured his wrist I think. He has been Getting good reviews for his development so far this pre season especially his greater muscle and physique also his improved ability to get the ball and disposal. He just seems ready judging by the reports etc. and also speaks as if he feels confident tjis is his breakout year. Lets hope so.
  8. The irony is that they are not THAT young!!!!
  9. Totally agree DeeZone let's hope we are right!!
  10. I Think you should be querying the Coaching Just as much as Gawny. Yes that was The early Covid breach of Spargo and can't remember, Bennell No one would have Stopped him plus Trac and Hunty who would have seen that ? Playing wise the Faults are coaches IMO and it was Gawny's first year as skipper. Thats why we need a group inc May and 2 others plus C and VC.
  11. P2J the irony is that although I haven't seen JJ play live or on tv I have read and listened to others on website and D/L and I feel very confident in the Amount and positivity of information That he is a genuine chance of being a player. You in case you don't remember made the statement that you know very little about him!!! I never said that and are content that my knowledge As outlined is enough to have A definitive opinion on JJ'S chances On playing being positive.
  12. Reckon he would be treated ( Maysie) very respectfully but they have made Their decision for 2021 that Max and Jack are C and VC and only a leadership extension will add to them. I hope we add at least 3 inc May and Trac and Lever or Tmac.
  13. Hasn't stopped you commenting on his selection Despite very little knowledge. Has been advice in this years training reports on our website and in D/L ers and Ben Gibson's interview with JJ. I can't remember also any time seeing on TV or live JJ but the noise and comment give me the abdolute confidence that we may have a new mid ( in or out) in our team this season and that is enough to get me excited for our improvement in 2021.
  14. Many of the reasons Given will not necessarily be prevalent in 2 mths time as WA and NSW will ( should be) totally birder free as all other states. YES nothing is in other than proposed print and we know the AFL!!! But the first 6 weeks are they say in stone !! Barring a Covid breakout in any particular state or city.
  15. Boydie yes same for AFL and BBL plus Test cricket in the Gabba Trust ( Qld style MCC area ) area fir both seasons. I have posted this about 3 times but either not read or notice taken and explained that seat traceability is the reason and a ground pass ( ie members ticket ) with no seat (unless some arrangement for Reserved seat holders is Arranged) is not sufficient to trace. Importantly members ticket holders DO NOT have any fees charged for the $0.00 seat ticket Necessary to Enter the ground and remain all day at.
  16. I'll back Rosman to make the grade he has so far given every reason to believe he may be the real thing! Possibly Round 1 on the wing. No outstanding competitor putting their hand up and please don't say Tmac. He is needed up forward or down back (yesDrD) If his current Pre season form continues depending upon availability or selection policy.
  17. You really are a killjoy at times OD Think he meant the real enjoyment of the song is the winning!!! I'll take Grand Old Glad any day and don't rate the other songs at all Hate to hear them.
  18. Have you answered your own questionFD? $75,000 was he worth it I don't think so. I watched some MCG games up to 1965 then every week games in Melbourne to 1992 till I moved interstate to work. that's 27 years by about 18 games per season plus 30 other prior totalling over 500 games !!!! I have no recollection of Tilly being a catalyst to the Dees improvement while he was playing for us. IOW we made a poor decision to pay him so much. We were not screwed by him we made that decision and Rjay has now admitted he didn't describe GWS decision correctly. What we paid Todd Viney and Earl Spalding in 1987 when they joined was more realistic for example and worth the money.
  19. FD Do you really think that he performed up to the $$$ spent? Did he improve us much? Was the money worth it? I think NO is the answer to all of those questions. We were about a mid table team the year he joined I reckon and didn't improve IMO with Diamond Jim on board. My point is that we made the decision to offer big $$$ and you are not screwed if you make that decision. You are responsible for your own decisions and GWS was in the Scully scenario with his Dad also.
  20. Rjay great That you commented again. My point is why have Crocodile tears for GWS who made a decision to overpay for Tom and his Dad. That's not being screwed that's making a bad business decision just the same as all Clubs make on certain players overpaying them eg. Carlton Mitch McGovern Melbourne John Tilbrook
  21. That's fine you are entitled to your opinion RM. Yes disagree on Fritsch on a wing is one but you were very bullish about switching him there in one post Then it was I believe a TMac swap as well I think. Now you like me don't want Tommy on the wing fir any substantial time.! but you also dont want Baker ( or dont think he is up to it) That's why I believe Rosman Is the guy pushing all the way to Round1.
