Gawny !!!! Still a babe in arms !!
-
You said you don't trust him yet In 1:1's. Don't back pedal because you obviously don't either watch properly or don't like Christian. Seriously he has gone from a B grader half way through last year having a small impact on our game plan to an A grader now who has added intercept marking longer kicking and more metres gained to his game. As for his 1 on 1's he is elite and no one player wins every one. Tomlinson has apparently lost only 1 individual battle since being placed in defence halfway through last season. Christian has also been elite this year look at the Coaches votes and other player awards for his votes etc from a graveyard ie Half back flank. Its like the improvement in Kossie recognise it and give credit where it's due AF.

Your opinion DrD not mine. Locky Could fiill the bill and Deakyn Smith is promising and are our best options and this week we may have needed one or both. I have to say it's hard to criticise our defence at all as even Nev was unlucky to be dropped but full of praise for Hibbo. Huge praise for Jake Tommo Riv Salo and Petty was good in 2nd half. If we can keep them to say 22/23 shots we are right in this contest.
-
No way would 5000 be able to attend this venue. The AFLW was allowed 1,200 approx and I would say 2,000 would be maximum. A one off Game and lucky if you get in I would say.
-
I reckon they switched us vs Crows from F to Air on Sat night with Dogs vs Saints from first announcement !! Ssints Are getting too much Free to Sir exposure for a poor performing team!
-
Ridiculous justification for this game Last years finalists vs a team with some rivalry history 2002/2010 ( A decade ago!!!)
-
What an ill informed comment OD The books are never full with Club membership. Get online and do the registering. Good luck.
-
No there is no game at Docklands that will get 40,000 or above Don't need alteration yet:
-
Tmac won't be dropped as long as his form is Up to scratch.
-
I agree also Dee 56 and Luc Hero. Tommy Mac is not suited to a wing nor is our team. He was placed there in 2018 to get a start on his mobility as I understood it. Now 3 years on he has trained a bit on the wing pre season and he runs along the wings any way BUT he is not a traditional winger in Any way shape or form. Tomlinson also did play there but he is and our team balance far better to use him as our 3rd tall defender. Either can play a cameo on the wing if necessary but why change it if it is not broke? So much so when some D/Lers offer changes or selections with Tmac on the wing I now just laugh and move on and disregard that post. We need Tmac forward and I think 2018 and 2021 are prime evidence that when he is on his game we are very hard to beat With him at CHF/FF clunking marks and converting goals. He is a big unit with endurance some pace reasonable flexibility and kicks well ( straight) and is actually a bloody good AFL footballer. Above all he is intelligent a team man and as fine as a young man in our Club who knows what the game is all about. Thats why I was so bullish about his come back this year and our chances if he returned to somewhere near 2018 form. Coincidentally Kossie ANB Spargs LJ Gawny and others have also improved and that's why we have scored all winning scores in the first 5 Rounds. We are still a work in progress but our full squad is nearly with us to give this season a serious shot at some glory in September.
-
Well done Tyla Eden and Karen for your individual honours. Great seasons. But really it is the evenness of the group that achieved so much this season. Couple of quality players a mid and perhaps CHF/CHB type and our best crumber who was injured In 2021 should have us right in the flag mix next year again. .

Salo is definitely under the radar. As a half back he is like an extra on baller really linking up the chain. But it's his courage and intercept marking that keep his engine and our team possession game going whether we are on top or under pressure. IMO he is really worth $600 for 4 years and AF who isn't convinced should start by watching the GWS win at the Gabba in Round 17 in 2020 to see the extra level his game has gone to. His 1:1 are good and he is having great IMPACT with his possessions and metres gained. A must signature and I wonder If he ever thinks of the name Kelly. My suspicion is never Which shows what an uncomplicated team player we are so lucky to have at the peak of his powers.
-
Sorry GV that is a surprising statement from you! That is the Club interview following his signature !!! You mostly don't either comment or have any info or refrain from controversial comments On the podcasts. Why would Clarry still be speaking with CFC ? Now ? Was he dragged kicking and screaming to sign? Is he Only going 2 years and has promised Carlton when he is FA he is theirs? Or do you mistrust his facts in the interview that much? Do you believe Sam McClure in his information about a Clarry being not happy and talking to Teague? I happen to believe it was badly handled by Footy Classified and if Caro had been on the panel the segment would have been much more complimentary to Clarry and MFC In getting his signature early! Sam wanted to only revisit his Original assertion about Clarry chatting to Teague and being unhappy after 2020! with his "never in doubt" comment, to back up his alleged information. Once negotiations started I have no doubt what Clarry has said. "Never in doubt" Yes the rumours were around he wasn't happy but I believe Adam Yze spoke to him early days and straightened him up. Your comments are even more damming and uncomplimentary to Clarry and MFC I believe. If course you are entitled to your opinion but my questions are very valid as a result of your comments!
-
Ring AFL membership but I don't think you can sit together as you both( I dont think ) can sit in each other's area unless the barcode is able to be included in your booking ( Also Check Membership at MFC) before ticket times are upon you.

Thanks for the positive post re Round1 DPositive and the Covid plan response from the Melbourne crowd. However as I Have pointed out the likelihood of flu catchment is much much less due to the general population adhering to the Covid safe practices. Try just had been proved by the stats from 2020. As usual OD your comments re Covid Vaccine and the crowds at the footy Are at best Flippant and worst inaccurate and misleading. 1. The total numbers in the crowd Or the % of Crowd allowed in the ground are totally irrelevant to the ability of Each person to move about freely. Your ticket has your seat no. and you are in a Zone and restricted to that area to purchase food and/ or go to the bathroom. You cannot waltz freely into another Zone to speak to an Old crony Or even your Mother in Law! 2. Covid Vaccine The provision of Venues for Vaccine In Australia is a Specialised operation with mist GO's not able to handle the rollout in these initial stages. You asking your GP When you can have the vaccine is basically irrelevant if he is not one of the designated venues for receiving the jab. It is not a shambles that you can't have it at your local GP clinic if they are unable to or are not a Clinic dispensing the vaccine. The procedure is to go to the Aust Govt Health website and do the CHECKER test to ascertain what priority you are. Ie 1a, 1b or 2a etc. Once you get this answer then you can put your postcode in The box and about 5/6 choices Of locations nearby will be on the screen where you may Book for the vaccine once that Category has commenced. ( 1 a and 1 b are priority so far but 2a is getting nearer ). In the future the Covid Vaccine procedure May become like the flu vaccine but we don't know really at this stage. So waiting forvthe vaccine rollout fir your clinic is probably in vain and frankly if you are in either 1a or 1 b category you should be considering getting the jab ASAP for your own safety and your families as well. There is also a second booster to get within 2/3 weeKs or 12 weeks Depending upon which Vaccine either Sfizer or Astra Veneca you received. It is not the GP's real role in this procedure to notify all their patients that the vaccine is available unless they belong to a Clinic that is approved for dispensing the rollout. Hopefully that updates generally your knowledge on both Covid plans and vaccine availability.

You are not replacing Petty with Fritta it is May! it upsets the whole backline structure with Tommo and Lever playing intercept. Maybe Chandler is closest yo Ftitts but frsnkly he is very hard to match up, Some say Melky but really it is not 2018 any more. Last chance if Melky does not play well. Chandler best option.
-
After another's brain fade with our forwards we badly need to go searching fir a classy big and medium forward. I mean a real footballer who kicks well and on both feet !! I think Krystal Petrovski was badly missed fir her crumbing and lacy skills, Need a definite KP player fir CHB or FB also. Great season though and many stepped up. Alrjough Mick Stinnear made good decisions about recruits and the changes made after our mid season slump CN we afford another forward debacle 3 games out of 11. Still haunts Us when we kick badly or face windy away conditions we are badly coached and not skilled enough up firward to kick enough goals Think our 3 losses We kicked 4.30 or similar and history Needs to be changed!
-
Jordan will play Goody has said so already.
-
Goody has already said he will play !!
-
We didn't roll them TWICE we last at Kard Park by less than a goal then beat them in the Elimination Final.
-
Your kidding Since 2018 Melky hasn't finished any thing! Or started it either. Perhsps Chandler like for like Left footer etc.
-
Yes McLure only mentioned his fact that he said Clarry saw Teague after last season to justify his allegation of truth. No Mention Whst a great get for Dees It is and how our flag prospects have 3 years at least of a super generational player starting at the coalface for us.
-
Sorry CB but the inference in your memory was the royal blue left you with greater memories of performances ie WINS Isnt that what it's about? You have introduced and posted this topic (from 1988 Experiences) and clearly infer success is recalled by the colour of the guernsey! You can't have it both ways denying your preferred guernsey when challenged! It's almost a testing of the waters to see what the D/L ers think albeit a tiny but tongue in cheek. Who knows where the post might end! Our traditional Club colours have been for the Majority Navy Blue and Red red! Its only the TV in 70's and a necessity for a clash jumper Now ( The one which I like incidentally and most D/L support for a real clash guernsey) That are really alternate of any length of time We are 4-0 and sailing as well as for 3 years (2018) or even 15 years ( 2006) and small irrelevancies like this are not I MO the time or place to Debate when we have so much good news and performance to concentrate on. Basically our MCG record has not been great since 2006 even more recently and since we started in 2017 to triumph at Marvel then some clash games results would be Memorable in some eyes. But our MCG home with the Navy and Red will now be more of a benchmark if we keep up our form that's started in 2021 in front of our fans again like last week against the Cats.
-
While we will lose games I don't think you are crediting the team aspect of our stars and role players to combine and succeeed. It's a letter of how many good footballers are in form and connecting as a team with the same determination we are showing now.

Interesting comment what's Billing's done to earn that over A 5 year period? Chandler could easily develop as well as Billings as a home grown product.
