  1. The Richmond game was not a disaster we were within a goal or two until a Tiger 5 goal last quarter made the final result look that. we had held them to about 8/9 goals at 3/4 time and our defence ( which was under performing like the whole team vs Hawks ) stood up well. So then we played about a quarter and half of average footy vs Bombers at Marvel then Tommy Mac hit the scoreboard and we didn't look back on a 56 goal win. Eon every game by big margin till Pies gave us an outside running wake up call on QB. We started to realise then too many inside mids and bees around the honeypot and it's taken till this year to solve most of those issues.
  2. Make no difference to our playing sticks in 2021. Hard to justify even if comes back earl y August say and very difficult to place in our defence Petty better defender Marty not great on smalls IMO and is interceptor 3rd or 4th in line. Hope Marty does/can come back late in year and get 2/3 Casey games snd Finals there.
  3. Not on present form ( or since 2018 for that matter )
  4. Either of those Diggies would be fine and a lot cheaper than Cerra!!
  5. How much more room has Carlton got left in their salary cap? Perhaps theirs is not so soft!!!
  6. We don't have a real issue on the wing! Angus us quite capable of playing his role as he is now in a premiership team and can be moved into the midfield whenever required. Not saying Clark may not be a great pick up and I agree his pace and versatility is tempting. But I am not dropping Angus who offers a real support outlet in defence as well as can link up with the forwards and intercept stray kicks under pressure.
  7. The wing (Angus wing ) is not broke so don't try and fix it.
  8. Save the print . Ridiculous our best big Forward by far and he's now a wingman!!! There's a very good reason he's at CHF and that is his best position for our team by far. on the opposite wing Gus is providing a very good package of skills including great defensive backup and tough interception at times. If you think about this wing has not been a weakness snd if you place a good competitive footballer there you will generally revive a good/ great result. We don't have to rob Tommy to pay Angus. How long did Tommy actually train on the wing in pre season any way He started there but it's got him fit for better things like great forward line footy which oppositions are finding it hard to match up with him each week. And he plays the G so well !!!
  9. Yes it's like we have SIX new players inc. the 2019 Draftees Kossie Riv and Dogga all having their own influence on team development and results plus the new improved ANB Spargy and Hunt back from the forward line. In addition Lingers plus Tommo and the 2018 class of Jordan Sparrow Chandler and Petty have all made great strides in this last 12 months. AND nearly every one else is performing like an A grader Maxy Clarry Trac Maysie Jake L Tmac Fritta Jack V Hibbo Salo. The unknown potential of BBB and the Weid is so exciting the list is long and bats pretty deep. Jonesy Nev Locky Mitch Brown Majak Joel Smith plus Vanders can hardly get a look in but are there to fall back on like Bedford Bowey Laurie and Rodman are the future learning as they play each Casey game. No stone should be left unturned in 2021 which should give us perhaps our best chance in 57 years to end the Cursed drought. I personally think the Bulldogs are our biggest threat but perhaps a wet day would be suitable for us to shine.
  10. Why upset the wing (Angus) now just to move our best big forward out of the forward line How illogical to switch deck chairs when it's not necessary !
  11. Well put Ben E Angus just has to tidy up some disposal brain fades and he is a strength on the members side if the he ground. Love the way he supports the defence and he could do some elite passing to leading forwards to give us more shots on goal.
  12. No defender goal side is because we don't play a small defender who should wait down like the crumbers up forward. By the way the first Carlton goal Levet went up ridiculously to spoil was miles away from the bell snd of course Carlton waltzed in for a goal. Lever should have seen at least 4 fly for the ball and waited behind for the crumbs. But he normally is superb on his own marking in defence and intercepting,
  13. Cards it was Patches Houlihan who wanted Tmac ( see previous post) and Angus moved. Responding to that no suggesting any thing about resting or moving players. Angus got the ball but was careless disposer of it at times. Llve the zest he adds tonight defence around half back and gets the ball out of the area. Another team action like Spargs half back heroics yesterday in the outer side This team grows before our eyes but must not be too unselfish at times when it's necessary to nail shots or handballs etc.
  14. Yes total ignorance of our new under threat new backman with the job to replace Tommo for this season ! Or totally make a name for himself on his own!!'
  15. Will only improve with confidence and assurance that is already in the defence. He will be ok and is doing plenty of team things now with the inevitable improvement in marking etc. Will be every thing we have hoped for as he develops. Doesnt panic either Jake goes a bit !!! But what an interceptor !
  16. Really Ham and you were happy with our forward line performance 2020? What we have got is a list that covers nearly every base for all conditions. We may need any one of our IMO 30/32 AFL standard players to use this year at any stage in the next potential 17 games. Dont underestimate any player in this group for our premiership tilt !! Remember BBB was protected a lot at Marvel and will take a bit longer to adapt to the MCG conditions particularly on a rainy and / or windy day!
  17. Complete overrreaction from CARDS 13 and yourself about buying crows membership. From Cards13 advice it's going to cost him only $50 ( remember he is probably spending $500 to go to Adelaide already) going halves with his Crow supporter friend who has use of the ticket for another 2 games!! You are not really buying a Crows membership you are using a down payment of $50 on that for entry and seating as well. ( Presumably that's correct) Any seat in that stadium is fine ( have been in the Bradman Stand for Test cricket and for $50 you tick off another venue you watched the Might Dees win at. Demon land yes your entry is not as smooth and more costly but it does tick off a box off your stadiums list !! And the ignominy of purchasing a Crows ticket.!!! Crows are down to about 28/30,000 crowd although many seats are reserved and presold. Which reduces the choice somewhat. Please Enjoy both of you and I have a feeling this game is one we are going to be tuned in for as a warm up prep for the Bulldogs game. Before Covid I preferred the Recipricol rights MCC ticket entry for $40 at the G and let my friend who uses my ticket at the G for another family member and stood in the Outer in the Great Southern Stand half forward flank near where Tommy kicked his boundary goal yesterday. ( Otherwise known to Pies fans as the Dom Sheed pocket!!). The atmosphere in the MCC members now this year almost has me looking to do that on QB when I come from interstate for that "blockbuster" Even though I have the $0 ticket option and a seat at the G! Go Dees
  18. Played another very useful back up game/ role where he just gets his hands on the ball and uses it pretty well. Also he is a fantastic tackler and Yao's elevated him as he is prepared to get his hands dirty. Also SpargO played IMO his best game for us Love his work in defence snd link up was strong. He is now quite an accomplished AFL player. All credit to him and our Footy Dept.
  19. That is not correct We won in 2015/16/17 in Round 1. Beating GC GWS and Saints respectively.
  20. How in the world can you move TMAC form the CHF? You are only moving deck chairs for the sake of fitting players in positions that they are not succeeding in. Both Tommy (not to a wing but in defence) and Angus can be moved during a game if necessary.
  21. Mitch Brown is better than Daw for just a forward.
  22. Agree was a nearly in some moves etc. Needs to be given another game vs Crows. Slick handball to Spargy was Oliver/Pickett style. On the Spargy front reckon it was his best game even though he kicked only one goal. Loves his work on the half back flank!
  23. Don't speak too soon We don't know what is up ahead! WE have 30/32 players that are AFL worthy and some will vary vs different teams.
  24. I am aRosman fan but he is a way off it in terms of consistent and pressure footy we require. Has ability and VFL is just the place to learn and hone his undoubted skills and endurance running for a senior role at some stage Later this year or next year. But very much a player of our future IMO.
