  1. Cards it was Patches Houlihan who wanted Tmac ( see previous post) and Angus moved. Responding to that no suggesting any thing about resting or moving players. Angus got the ball but was careless disposer of it at times. Llve the zest he adds tonight defence around half back and gets the ball out of the area. Another team action like Spargs half back heroics yesterday in the outer side This team grows before our eyes but must not be too unselfish at times when it's necessary to nail shots or handballs etc.
  2. Yes total ignorance of our new under threat new backman with the job to replace Tommo for this season ! Or totally make a name for himself on his own!!'
  3. Will only improve with confidence and assurance that is already in the defence. He will be ok and is doing plenty of team things now with the inevitable improvement in marking etc. Will be every thing we have hoped for as he develops. Doesnt panic either Jake goes a bit !!! But what an interceptor !
  4. Really Ham and you were happy with our forward line performance 2020? What we have got is a list that covers nearly every base for all conditions. We may need any one of our IMO 30/32 AFL standard players to use this year at any stage in the next potential 17 games. Dont underestimate any player in this group for our premiership tilt !! Remember BBB was protected a lot at Marvel and will take a bit longer to adapt to the MCG conditions particularly on a rainy and / or windy day!
  5. Complete overrreaction from CARDS 13 and yourself about buying crows membership. From Cards13 advice it's going to cost him only $50 ( remember he is probably spending $500 to go to Adelaide already) going halves with his Crow supporter friend who has use of the ticket for another 2 games!! You are not really buying a Crows membership you are using a down payment of $50 on that for entry and seating as well. ( Presumably that's correct) Any seat in that stadium is fine ( have been in the Bradman Stand for Test cricket and for $50 you tick off another venue you watched the Might Dees win at. Demon land yes your entry is not as smooth and more costly but it does tick off a box off your stadiums list !! And the ignominy of purchasing a Crows ticket.!!! Crows are down to about 28/30,000 crowd although many seats are reserved and presold. Which reduces the choice somewhat. Please Enjoy both of you and I have a feeling this game is one we are going to be tuned in for as a warm up prep for the Bulldogs game. Before Covid I preferred the Recipricol rights MCC ticket entry for $40 at the G and let my friend who uses my ticket at the G for another family member and stood in the Outer in the Great Southern Stand half forward flank near where Tommy kicked his boundary goal yesterday. ( Otherwise known to Pies fans as the Dom Sheed pocket!!). The atmosphere in the MCC members now this year almost has me looking to do that on QB when I come from interstate for that "blockbuster" Even though I have the $0 ticket option and a seat at the G! Go Dees
  6. Played another very useful back up game/ role where he just gets his hands on the ball and uses it pretty well. Also he is a fantastic tackler and Yao's elevated him as he is prepared to get his hands dirty. Also SpargO played IMO his best game for us Love his work in defence snd link up was strong. He is now quite an accomplished AFL player. All credit to him and our Footy Dept.
  7. That is not correct We won in 2015/16/17 in Round 1. Beating GC GWS and Saints respectively.
  8. How in the world can you move TMAC form the CHF? You are only moving deck chairs for the sake of fitting players in positions that they are not succeeding in. Both Tommy (not to a wing but in defence) and Angus can be moved during a game if necessary.
  9. Mitch Brown is better than Daw for just a forward.
  10. Agree was a nearly in some moves etc. Needs to be given another game vs Crows. Slick handball to Spargy was Oliver/Pickett style. On the Spargy front reckon it was his best game even though he kicked only one goal. Loves his work on the half back flank!
  11. Don't speak too soon We don't know what is up ahead! WE have 30/32 players that are AFL worthy and some will vary vs different teams.
  12. I am aRosman fan but he is a way off it in terms of consistent and pressure footy we require. Has ability and VFL is just the place to learn and hone his undoubted skills and endurance running for a senior role at some stage Later this year or next year. But very much a player of our future IMO.
  13. Thanks FB. All note it please.
  14. See previously DrD or Sues posts in this thread. On Kayo Looks like it may be but is a bit unproven etc. Follow the advice.
  15. I agree but he is so good now at almost being another mid by the way he plays I just think keep him On HB and let him run. Of course never rule out a chance if needed to join the mid group in the centre or forward line.
  16. Chandler deserves a chance but Baker no.
  17. Well put dl4e exactly the response such c..p deserves. Garbo also gives a very good response to Jake in the centre bounce!!!
  18. No bring Sparrow in and give him a go. Can always make changes during the game. PLEASE this incessant fantasy with Tmac on the wing is ridiculous. Its almost getting fans thinking of ways to change the team structure to get him there. In case any one is under the delusion that we could move a Tmac full time to the wing and succeed they do not understand the logic of team balance or placing players in their best positions. Yes a player can be moved during a game and Tmac performed that role vs North in Hobart and played on the backline in place of Tommo. Great result and he could be a Harry McKay opponent at some stage on Sunday with Petty being moved to CHF. Our forward line needs Tmac at his best as he kicks straight is mobile and is a team player above all else. He's playing just fine and when it's Not broke don't try and fix it. For those in the "Tommy for Wing" club yes he played about 5 mins a game starting there to get him mobile fir his forward starring role in 2018. Far different than wanting him to line up there and run all day. The team needs pace on the wing and I am perfectly happy with Angus performing that role until say Fraser Rosman or one if the other players earns a game in that position. Leave Tommy be the leader of our forward line and his work ethic and Bulk plus clunk marking are proving priceless to our improvement and form in 2021.
  19. Absolutely all the best results for the future Stevo.
  20. Resting is an expression for a ruck or mid to go up forward after on the ball Rather than go to the interchange Bench. Maxy seems to be doing about 60% of ruck work and LJ basically the rest. BBB didn't do much rucking and is not suited yet IMO as Tmac and Weid are better. I have full faith we will get it right unless we play a tall too many if it's very wet underneath rather than just showers.
  21. Certainly Longmire did his homework and his players execution as always was spot on. But we had chances to distance ourselves and didn't take them. Partly our fault as we had Lever minding Sinclair and not floating as normal. If Tomlinson had played I reckon he would have been on the resting tucks snd not Lever. We must go back to Lever being an intercept Option or play Petty in that role msybe. Kossie just Missed the ball and slipped around a lot and did not impact the game. Rampe played Fritta well but Tmac and BBB did their job as the talls Our forward line should all contribute this week and defence keep The Blues to 10/12 goals.
  22. Irreplaceable not irreparable
  23. Well if you start trying to use cute Lingo don't be surprised if some Don't get your humour.??? Agree LJ is a jet but won't learn from you if you keep up With your Fritsch comments. Bayley is also a Very talented player who is irreparable on our forward line as he rarely plays a bad game and contributes goals nearly every game. Like all players he can improve in say tackling but you don't drop a player for a smaller weakness in his game if he is one if your best contributors.
  24. Well MFC isn't as we were shafted to this role up to about 2014/15 snd just as Jeff K has said it's not financially viable Generally playing an interstate team on Mother's Day. We complained and now don't get that gig and the Hawks are also unhappy. Point out when we last won On Mothers Day and the results and crowd? You are condemning the Club although in a much better situation now than say 2014 to a financial burden if you selfishly think we should be rostered in this time slot.
