  1. At the end when Tigers fans left and we sang the Club song plus the presentation to Trac there was IMO 30,000 Demons fans minimum. The MCC members was 2/3 Demons and Really good no 's in The Southern Stand upper. All I can say is any one not gong now just can't expect to rock up and get Finals tickets Especially if we play Tigers again. Get your GF guarantee also if you are serious. Covid has placed some small hardship for fans but no more than going to coffee shops with the QRCode and it has been point by point provided by the Club on our website. Reserved seat holders and friends sitting together are being slightly disadvantaged but not prevented under the Priority 1,2 and 3 system of linking up. What some people don't think about is their own safety and others. Contact tracing is not just about you it is any one in the crowd. Simple but effective and safe.
  2. Natural form and Injury Plus hopefully not suspension generally intervene so no use forcing an issue at present. Once you are also ensconced in say the top rungs you can look at health and niggles etc. Or a player say like Chandler who I believe is really close to best 23 emerge as up to AFL standard then it's The time to reward this achievement.
  3. The answer is you DONT TRY TO FIT IN players unless there is a good reason !!
  4. Play players on merit and form and health ( fitness) Don't flirt with selection for selection sake!!
  5. We don't need Tmac on the wing ! How many times have you suggested this mythical change in our structure? Isn't his form good enough ? Let the bloke do what he does best . The Mark McLure role in the forward line Marking kicking goals and making ways for and protecting our smalls. It's going well and honestly both Weid and BBB are not that same type of player to assist others. Just wanting to play certain players to fit them in is not team football. They must all gel and right now Melksham is probably the elephant in the room. Plus Angus is owning his wing with great support for the defenders and also a good feeder to the leads from Our forwards. We don't need to experiment and risk mucking up Tmac'a form and the Forward line and centre line synergy.
  6. DD we are all liable to change our minds on this great game. Nearly every Melb player Is rewriting his CV this season. Thats why we are improving as a team and Club.
  7. Absolute rubbish. Tommy isn't a winger he is a key position player ie FF or CHF. And a beast and a competitor in the same mould that Mark McLure was in those great Carlton sides in 1979, 81 and 82: Makes Kossie ANB and Charlie play taller. Move him at your peril !! That doesn't mean BBB or Weid aren't good enough.
  8. And it's just the start of a defence type dynasty with a couple of others on the way when we get the odd injury or suspension!
  9. They have to make available SOME Away members tickets And it's generally a stand alone time for say 2 hours to get. We should (The Club) have the info on their MFC website earl that week. Why would it be any different under a Covid plan?
  10. He finished last season with about 4/5 games where he impacted the fortunes of our team towards a win. Watch the GWS win in Round 17 and its the same as 2021 all out commitment and running for the team. Congratulations Christian.
  11. Definitely nearer to Lovett than Whelan which prob makes Christian an A-to A+. As Brett was an A+ no doubt. At seasons end I believe he will be without doubt an A+ and may even have a medallion around his neck!
  12. You said you don't trust him yet In 1:1's. Don't back pedal because you obviously don't either watch properly or don't like Christian. Seriously he has gone from a B grader half way through last year having a small impact on our game plan to an A grader now who has added intercept marking longer kicking and more metres gained to his game. As for his 1 on 1's he is elite and no one player wins every one. Tomlinson has apparently lost only 1 individual battle since being placed in defence halfway through last season. Christian has also been elite this year look at the Coaches votes and other player awards for his votes etc from a graveyard ie Half back flank. Its like the improvement in Kossie recognise it and give credit where it's due AF.
  13. Your opinion DrD not mine. Locky Could fiill the bill and Deakyn Smith is promising and are our best options and this week we may have needed one or both. I have to say it's hard to criticise our defence at all as even Nev was unlucky to be dropped but full of praise for Hibbo. Huge praise for Jake Tommo Riv Salo and Petty was good in 2nd half. If we can keep them to say 22/23 shots we are right in this contest.
  14. No way would 5000 be able to attend this venue. The AFLW was allowed 1,200 approx and I would say 2,000 would be maximum. A one off Game and lucky if you get in I would say.
  15. I reckon they switched us vs Crows from F to Air on Sat night with Dogs vs Saints from first announcement !! Ssints Are getting too much Free to Sir exposure for a poor performing team!
  16. Ridiculous justification for this game Last years finalists vs a team with some rivalry history 2002/2010 ( A decade ago!!!)
  17. What an ill informed comment OD The books are never full with Club membership. Get online and do the registering. Good luck.
  18. No there is no game at Docklands that will get 40,000 or above Don't need alteration yet:
  19. Tmac won't be dropped as long as his form is Up to scratch.
  20. I agree also Dee 56 and Luc Hero. Tommy Mac is not suited to a wing nor is our team. He was placed there in 2018 to get a start on his mobility as I understood it. Now 3 years on he has trained a bit on the wing pre season and he runs along the wings any way BUT he is not a traditional winger in Any way shape or form. Tomlinson also did play there but he is and our team balance far better to use him as our 3rd tall defender. Either can play a cameo on the wing if necessary but why change it if it is not broke? So much so when some D/Lers offer changes or selections with Tmac on the wing I now just laugh and move on and disregard that post. We need Tmac forward and I think 2018 and 2021 are prime evidence that when he is on his game we are very hard to beat With him at CHF/FF clunking marks and converting goals. He is a big unit with endurance some pace reasonable flexibility and kicks well ( straight) and is actually a bloody good AFL footballer. Above all he is intelligent a team man and as fine as a young man in our Club who knows what the game is all about. Thats why I was so bullish about his come back this year and our chances if he returned to somewhere near 2018 form. Coincidentally Kossie ANB Spargs LJ Gawny and others have also improved and that's why we have scored all winning scores in the first 5 Rounds. We are still a work in progress but our full squad is nearly with us to give this season a serious shot at some glory in September.
