  1. Whenever I watch Melbourne there are some things that I know are going to happen; Mids all leave their man to become ball magnets Long bombs into the forward 50. These are expected, Frost gives us the unexpected so he is an excitement machine, no one knows what he will do next. He's a wildcard that must be treasured.
  2. This quote is thrown about a bit in England but it's very relevant for our 2019 season “It’s not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It’s the hope I can’t stand. John Cleese (as Brian Stimpson in the film Clockwise)
  3. I was asked this the other day, I think the heat is slowly being turned up with some of the recent comments from commentators etc.
  4. I just like how we've gone from having no fit defenders to no fit forwards. topsy-turvy'd our initial problem.
  5. hopefully next year we won't see him in the back-line at all. Hopefully this year is an abnormality injury wise. For some reason my dumb brain has given him the nickname Fritzl, which is not the best nickname to be honest.
  6. Trade him in a deal to North for Ben Brown lol. I like like Preuss, perfect situation to try them both in the same team now given TMAC is out. let Preuss EAT

  8. Gets a run of form and then he's out for the year. 2019 has been disastrous! Hopefully it sets us up for a nice run at 2020 though with a softer fixture and a hopefully "fresher" squad
  9. was a nice 109 point flogging last year, hopefully they'll sell commemorative DVDs of the game.
  10. still on crutches this morning, Unleash Preuss!
  11. 'long bombs inside 50 rather than lowering the eyes.' - that's most of our squad tbh
  12. By the time the 2019 season is over this thread will be longer than the one Jesse Hogan had
  13. On a side DB joined Arsenal in July 2017; Wilkshere missed 1 game (Community Cup) for Arsenal that season injury from a hairline fracture that occurred the season before when he was on loan at Bournemoth. The 17/18 Season was actually pretty good for him injury wise. 38 appearances across all the competitions (Missed some games for non selection/on the bench etc). Following year he moved to West Ham and missed 30 games combined due to injury. Maybe DB does have the midas touch! anyway he's highly regarded, if we're building talent on the pitch it needs to be protected. for whatever reason, the medical department may or may not have shot themselves in the foot a few times in recent times. Need club-wide review and subsequent improvements (if warranted) on and off pitch to continue quest for success.
  14. Do not like articles like this Why trading Angus Brayshaw could fix Melbourne's midfield https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/26952749/why-trading-angus-brayshaw-fix-melbourne-midfield Don't want to lose Helmet
  15. Backline sorting itself out to make us a unit in 2020. Jayden Hunt being leading goal scorer at the end of the season. Beating Cartlon
  16. Last year we just bombed it into the F50 and had success. There isn't really a change to the game plan but we're sitting at 3-9. How has it become so inefficient so quickly?
  17. it's almost as if Frost's body is quicker than his brain, you never know what he's going to do next. Truly an excitement machine. Speed is a weapon worth retaining though.
  18. Just in relation to the final few minutes, was that Lockhart kick too far for him to kick (uncertain of his attributes still). Just found it interesting he slotted it off to Melksham; was that purely to buy time or due to his kicking ability.
  19. His immediate post game interview didn't fill me with a lot of confidence. Want to see him in the team each week eating people
  20. Had ALMOST forgot about that game, thanks for the reminder
  21. Fair play, i know it's a different sport but Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United) made some interesting comments late last year. Said his initial patchy season form was due to the fact he was too bulked/muscly for the World Cup and struggled when returning to quicker paced EPL. All the sports science in the world and they still get certain things wrong. Curious to know what sort of pre-season program the trac was on
  22. For those that are saying Petracca is out of shape, do you mean fat or he's bulked too much muscle in the wrong areas?
