  1. Turner gone from 2-3 to Test; that's a nice change. Spargo gone from 2-3 to TBC: that's possibly a sad change.
  2. Should have described him 'looks stuffed' aha. Looking forward to seeing him when he's built his fitness up.
  3. laconic has crept into the sports commentators lexicon for about 20 years now and doesn't really accord with the definition. It is now being used in a way to describe many things ranging from lazy, laid-back to effortless skill etc, this convo has popped up a few times on the d'land, For instance with its usage, did a quick google of an ex-EPL forward Dimitar Berbatov and the word laconic and the following said about him; Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov is best known for his laconic artistry Despite his laconic image... His laconic style is personal... His laconic gait and slow-motion grace condemn him to cut an anachronistic figure must-win six-pointer derby between busy artisans and laconic artists.
  4. Not my neck of the woods, but some names I have always found funny. The name has changed now, but there was a Welsh soccer team which adopted the name of it's sponsor, Total Network Solutions. That business eventually was taken over and now they are The New Saints FC which is not as funny. There is Club The Strongest and Club Always Ready from Bolivia. Ebusua Dwarfs in Ghana, but the full name is Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs Football Club. My favourite league for names is the Botswana Premier League which features Security Systems F.C, Botswana Police XI SC and Botswana Defence Force XI F.C.
  5. This fella tho, unreal
  6. I don't mind playing a player who may be lacking in fitness so it can build up their levels etc. But makes you wonder how many of them you can fit in a team given Petty and McAdam are in the same situation. Understand getting them match fit to AFL level requires some AFL matches but is there a limit to this?
  7. This seems a bit of the vibe for me, but a little hard to answer given how the game has changed and also due to the fact i was born in 84, so i don't really remember anything pre early 90s.
  8. Then relocate to Geelong and a new ground and training base funded by the government in no time.
  9. Jayden Hunt next name on the list hopefully.
  10. Do you play him forward so you can run Kozy in the guts more?
  11. Even if 'Gus was playing I feel we may be having this issue. Need something extra/different in the midfield composition. Kozzie show flashes but need him forward defensive pressure as well so not a permanent solution.
  12. Agreed, at least Goody didn't go down the Chris Scott route
  13. Hopefully we go less moneyball this offseason with the trades and can snare a key puzzle piece.
  14. Are we allowed a replacement for JS?
  15. Think Rivers has more dash than Salo so i'd prefer that option. We need more than just extractors/hoofers
  16. I love BBB but as I said in the match thread he only got a game cos JvR, Turner, Melksham and He who cant be named were out. The reality with BBB is he's a cherry on top player - he can still play a role but needs good delivery and needs others to do some of the hardwork to cover him. When we're a little bit off our game or dysfunctional it's not going to go well for BBB. Imagine Fullarton gets a gig soon to see what he can offer.
  17. Too many kids Danhausen, you don't want to curse them or burn them out with overreliance early on
  18. Agreed. Already playing a lot of kids; let’s not throw them all in.
  19. Our best forward def pressure was trio of Spargo anb kozzy doing the business injuries and other reasons have meant we haven’t been able to run this this season
  20. Tbf Brown only playing cos Turner, JvR, melksham, he who can’t be named are out.if any of them were playing we’d have been able to throw petty back down to help. missing Langdon and spargo today. then the brayshaw situation etc
  21. Wish I could mute Schofield. we’re a strong finisher, hoping we can kick up a gear in the second
  22. and some BBB f50 rucking?
  23. Could always shift ANB for portions of the game I guess
  24. Restricted free agent Jarrod Berry is weighing up a four-year deal from the @brisbanelions The seven other RFAs: H.McCluggage: Rivals believe he will stay on a 6yr deal, but hasn't signed yet. P.Dangerfield: Surely staying, but no deal on the table yet. B.Ainsworth: 4yr deal on the table, but future unclear at Suns B.Hardwick: Hawks have offered a deal but signature is a while off. C.Zurhaar: More likely to leave if North continues to struggle. W.Hayward: Carlton, Port, Adelaide circling. Won't sign at Sydney anytime soon. For details see @xandermcg9 T.English: Talks ongoing, albeit slowly. One for back end of the season at best.
  25. Hope we never go down that route, seems like a logical nightmare for football(soccer) fans in the uk. Miss the simple days of Foxtel though, now sport so fractured and everywhere for soccer. Apple - MLS Paramount - A-league Optus - Premier League and Spanish League, Euros Stan - Champions league, Europa league, Europa conference league bein - Copa America, championship, SPL, serie a, bundesliga.
