  1. definitely 2 Brookies, maybe we take FEB as an a rookie as we have the spots?
  2. i think he will go through the draft undrafted, so maybe we think we can pick him up as an A rookie then?
  3. the list should also include these players who have been previously delisted OR previously FA eligible making them FA for life *for those delisted and yet to be re-rookied this year ** for those yet to sign a 2023 contract ADELAIDE CROWS Jackson Hately BRISBANE LIONS Ryan Lester** CARLTON COLLINGWOOD Cooper Murley* ESSENDON Will Snelling FREMANTLE DOCKERS Joel Hamling Lachie Schultz GEELONG CATS Isaac Smith** Jonathon Ceglar Tyson Stengle GOLD COAST SUNS Levi Casboult Nick Holman GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY Jacob Wehr Lachie Keefe HAWTHORN Dylan Moore MELBOURNE Luke Dunstan James Jordon NORTH MELBOURNE Jared Polec Hugh Greenwood PORT ADELAIDE Dylan Williams* Trent Dumont Trent McKenzie RICHMOND Bigoa Nyuon** Robbie Tarrant ST KILDA Mason Wood Tom Campbell SYDNEY SWANS Sam Naismith** WEST COAST EAGLES Shannon Hurn** Jermaine Jones WESTERN BULLDOGS Ryan Gardner Tim Oโ€™Brien
  4. gws will struggle at the bottom again next year imo, maybe he'll be looking to get out and try and find some success if we can convince him we can fit him in
  5. ur thought process is 13 isnt a good spot to pick a talented player but if we slide back to 19 or 20 we will have more luck? how does that make sense
  6. from my experience FW usually moves the layer to their new club and leaves the existing contract length tacked on which would be reflected in what you're seeing for hunter and in schaches case he was ooc so they have to at least say '23 when they moved him. i would imagine it is +1 on both those deals making it LH 3yrs and JS 2yrs just as a wild guess but could be wrong
  7. i think he'd be more likely to come as a rookie just as i havent seen his name pop up across the interwebs nearly as much as many others. but they are some exciting stats and the age factor too definitely weighs in, im on board for a rookie slot
  8. way too early for barnett, too much can go wrong for tall prospects between their 18th year where they are the biggest and strongest on field and by the time they reach the afl against men 3-4 years later. hence why the cadman call will be so interesting to watch over the next decade. happy with the JVE nomination tho. i also dont think we will go tall-tall more likely mid-tall and then maybe small-tall in the rookie draft
  9. i fear he may be a predominantly 23rd man again next year, we also have been quite fit in the midfield for since 2020 when viney was struck down, this can't continue forever so he should still get 15-20 games in next year, but ur right i wonder if he'll have a look around, maybe an essendon would come in for him otherwise he might not have many suitors he's too generic a type that clubs would probably see more upside in an 18yo or back in their own list than target him per se, but who knows, a year is a long time in football
  10. i put them at $1.01 to go back in for him net year when hes OOC, assumingly he continues to play as sporadically as he did this year again next/or if he plays 22 games
  11. north are hoping for their extra rookie spots to add walker and turner back on i believe. JA and clarko havent got great history so his appointment and andersons contract expiring at the same time was bad timing for him. if anyone is suggesting we pick up tom cutler, then you clearly have never seen him play.
  12. max michaelanny also harry rowston is gws academy and he'll be around the mark there at 30odd
  13. gotta be best available at 13 and speculate on a roughie at 37 with a different type then
  14. Smith has worn 44 for 7 years can't see him changing now really, or the chin moving out of 37 for the same reason, particularly while gawny is his player sponsor ;) Ahh well in that case maybe he does consider it, hunt did have it for his entire career at mfc to date so u might be onto something it was available when we drafted him as howes has it, think it was just one of those things, higher draft picks get first choice or he didnt want to live in dads shadow and instead make his own name for himself
  15. i'd imagine we made Hunters existing 2 years a 3year deal and schache got 2, but thats pure speculation, hunter could also be 4yrs taking him to 31yo early look at next year puts Hibbo and Melky probably low on priorities, Jordon could be the one who looks elsewhere for opportunities, WCE could target rivers for the hurn position however i think he will stay and dunstan and chandler will be the last to get signed up. McVee and DeakSmith need to show something more deak will be at the end of his 3yr maximum rookie stay as well
  16. after the top 10 the FS and NGA bids tend to slide a bit further out than they are reported to be rated, due to club draft boards differing and clubs wearing of making a club pay rate vs actually being comfortable getting that player should they not match for these reasons i see the Fletcher bid AND the Alwyn Jnr bid come after the first round in the low 20s remember also the draft is over two nights so that first pick of the second night (currently 19) will likely to heavily targetted by clubs trying to get THE ONE who slipped out of the first round
  17. i watched one of youngs games that year and it was enough for me to deeply desire recruiting him, think itll be a hard sell to move him out of freo now + we recruited rivers who was a similar player later in the draft anyway. but i agree managers certainly have changed the advice they give their potential draftees, it probably used to be sweet talk them, tell them what they want to hear and get drafted we can sort the rest out down the track to nowadays tell them your staying in ur state and you will ur good enough at the top end u wont go un-drafted but at least now you have a better chance of staying home
  18. correct but theres rules with nominations like that, or at least there are for F/S as we saw last year with woey where if you nominate them in the national draft you have to take them, not sure how this applies with NGA, i think as FS cant go cat b but NGA can it may be different but we saw with adelaide a couple years back they nominated luke edwards son of tyson as a rookie FS only so WCE were able to nab him in the ND. i believe NGA is different were if he goes unnominated through the ND, he essentially skips the rookieA draft and gets immediately listed as cat b should we choose -which i believe we will at least for 12 months until we see how raik andrew is progressing
  19. it's mandated that a club use 3 selections every draft. we've managed to position our two live selections as well as we probably could for the time being, so it's likely we use both picks and then chandler upgrade is our last selection
  20. So noticed this pick didnt have a thread yet so here it is. and for free you also get a collection of players i hope we are looking at in that range. i'm of the belief we will go midfielder as best available at 13 (i want hollands, and ill take his homesick brother in 2 years time too thanks) so these are the guys i'd be talking to, i dont think we will take two generic shape/sized mid types as we've recruited plenty of those recently however we have tended to target talls/smalls either through unnatural pathways (SPP/MSD) or from other clubs unless they've been high end top prospects recently so its hard to tell the clubs thoughts but heres some names anyway Isaac Keeler H: 198cm W: 88kg -- tall athletic KPF with NGA links to the crows. for me, so much more upside than say Cadman, why you ask because cadman is the biggest body playing against 18yo's only, keeler has shown flashes but has heaps of development, growth and muscle to come. they use the term x-factor when discussing him James Van Es H: 197cm W: 99kg --tall defender, strong overhead, confident to mark the footy, will be ready in 3-4 years time to take over from may and be really aggressive in the air. Lewis Hayes H: 197cm W: 81kg --tall defender, infamous for collapsing on the finish line of the 2ker at the combine but has upside and potential, could be a little passion project for the dev coaches Lachie Cowan H: 188cm W: 81kg --slingshot rebounding defender, good height but beautiful kick out of tassie, great combination of speed and using it correctly and kicking Josh Weddle H: 192cm W: 89kg --probably out of range here but players do slide, tested really well for speed and endurance, strong overhead, going to be a player as a rebounding intercepting defender Darcy Jones: H: 175cm W: 67kg --small forward, super zippy, broke the agility record of 14yrs, small forward but like spargo is a strong midfielder at junior level and would play up the gorund, maybe even as a daniels type HB Max Knobel H: 206cm W: 91kg OR Harry Barnett H: 202cm W:93kg --the two top ruck prospects, knobel has been growing and putting on weight all year, barnett won their duels during the year, project players Anthony Munkara H: 186cm W:77kg --linked to essendons nga, he could be anything as a leaping third tall, raw but has serious talent and x factor and knows his way around goals, excites me
  21. he was out of contract this year, likely to be delisted after their recent high profile draft and trade/fa recruits and we've grabbed him for a pick in the 60s even the doggies are unlikely to use. we get to choose the coin and the contract length. and im sure he woulda said yes to our first offer because it was us or the scrapheap
