  1. because if he doesnt do that he'll be out of the system in two years having wasted his time playing vfl
  2. if bowes is on 800k a year for 2 more years, surely we can say ok make it 400k 4 years and we'll do it. we can definitely fit that into the cap surely
  3. evans is going to the pear as reported about a month ago by someone
  4. selwood looked like a player retiring in the last quarter last night and he gets to go out on the highest high. he was a [censored] to play against and a massive sook but he was a world class leader and a tough combative warrior so fair play to him
  5. he's an inside bull, in and under first hands tough as nails, thats the bread and butter of his game
  6. no thanks, body is rooted NM vfl side. he's dominated weekly for them and outperformed all their afl listed players all year
  7. feel you're being kind, hasnt got near it today unfortunately, doesn't really reflect on his talent. he's got ability but has had a down day and if what you're saying is true and i've not really noticed where he has (thats how little hes been involved) then yeh he's been done no favours by being played on a wing as it doesn't suit his skill set and give him the best chance to perform at a high level
  8. but we can fix that by lengthening out his contract and flattening the salary. gies from 500k for 1 season to 350k for 2/3 years and that way he gets some security
  9. i was concerned a number of times he tried to toe poke it out of packs instead of bodylining it/bending over. i know hes thin and all legs but if you can't do that at 18s level against fellow 18s itl be a shock to the system when its jack viney or clarry coming the other way at you
  10. fully back this as a move. even get them to throw in corbett who we were linked to as another forward option as well. i think he could be a 30+ goal a season player at afl level if he had the opportunities. at mfc he would definitely get more than at gc17 where the ball doesnt go down there nearly as often. and bowes is just unreal value given what he can do at afl level despite it not being what the suns thought they were getting with a top10 pick
  11. could do worse if he's a cheap get. still corbett/burgess at GCS and gunston on the market as well that could fill a spot on our list potentially even schache could get rookied as a DFA
  12. ET i've been thinking about this for three pages of reading and im still struggling to work out in any circumstance where theres any other option than the two you've suggested. and its cracking me up, your forensic analysis of hunt is essentially the only decisions we could possibly make on him or any other player on our list. like its so black and white but i have enjoyed a little giggle
  13. jake stein was delisted by the giants today, i don't think he's the worst player going around in terms of key defenders. actually suprised he was cut given davis and keefe r barely hanging on there as well. u know who could fix our lack of key defensive depth. this kid called mac andrew, think he's linked to us via NGA will be a great pick up long term!
  14. hows the size on bottom ager reid for country
  15. if ur hunt you take 2 years at melbourne before you go to wce, especially given you've played 20 games in each of the last two seasons. yes he might want 3-4 years but take the two and back yourself in to get another 1-2 after that
  16. the fact ur getting pick 7 WITH bowes should entice every club to make it work bowes would be an upgrade on hunt imo
  17. would rather we take a punt on someone from outside the afl system, if he's been deemed not good enough by the pies then theres probably a reason for that and we're better off looking elsewhere mature or 18 for some untapped potential when he signed it was 1 yr rookie 1 yr senior list set up
  18. hore was a vfl all australian this year, averaged 7.5 marks and 26 touches for the season and was comfortably their stand out player
  19. if that was the case they would've announced it at the time of delisting/left it till post trade period when they had some actual idea about their list size and where the free spaces were
  20. one name sprang into my head. M.Hore think you probably would've heard of him
  21. i think the point @DeeSpencerwas trying to point out was the ridiculousness of suggesting turner as a suitable replacement for salem given the outrageously different natures of their games. and he makes some good points about playing 4 talls. look at richmond with balta/miller tarrant/gibcus grimes and broad and vlastuin. thats a fairly large backline and it gets thr job done
  22. yep we now face the catch 22 of going down to prem c and losing all our vfl aligned blokes as the level isnt at the required standard for them to go back to if they aren't selected at vfl level which rips a huge core out of our group but at least we should be more competitive and at a level better suited to our seriously young and thin (numbers wise) squad
  23. Neale, Rayner, Lyons, Robertson, Zorko aren't wingers. They've got other fringe players that'll leave before prior does that's why im suggesting (in the tomlison thread) that we'll smooth that out for an extra few years and that'll just about do him true, you're right i dindt think of him as a KPD, he'd have to be trained up there but he was drafted and played as a forward https://vfl.aflmstats.com/player/Liam_McMahon and according to this played mostly through the guts?
