List Analysis
Key Defenders: May, McDonald, Adams General Def: Lever, Salem, Bowey, McVee, Hore (A), Moniz-Wakefield (B), Woewodin, Howes Midfielders: Oliver, Viney, Petracca, Rivers, Windsor, Sparrow, Langdon, Billings, Sharp, Laurie, KBrown (A) Rucks: Gawn, Campbell, Fullarton, Verrell (A) General Fwd: Fritsch, Pickett, Spargo, Melksham, Chandler, Tholstrup, McAdam, Sestan (A) Key Forwards: van Rooyen, Petty, Turner, Jefferson, Kentfield (A) i always like to highlight the players out of contract coz i think its a good tell on where we will look to recruit as theres obvious uncertertainty abiut the current crop. it's no wonder we went hard for Houston. It's also why after the best available at 5, travaglia or allan is my preferred targets at 9. (or tauru if he gets there). Riak would add depth as as a key back and mentha as a small forward too. If we take 79 id expect it to be a ruck or KPD

List Analysis
in bold is the changes ive made, mostly you overvalue-ing players who have not had meaningful or decisive impact on a game either ever or in over 12 months. Tholstrup played 12 games, to call him a B grader is ambitious on current output, not to say he cant or wont get there in time. again some adjustments imo, fullarton clearly not a ruck given our determination to play anyone else but him there and howes, woey, chandler etc will never receive mid time, if they do we are in a world of trouble, theyre scratching afl standard / mfc standard in less demandinf or important positions as it is

2024 List and Contract Details
i dont think it does coz i think AMW moves onto the A list wgucg means we have the max of 6. coz we had 7 last year when kentfield repalced brayshaw

Delistings 2024
howes has played 16 games placing him =37th overall for games played from his draft with miller bergman from north 55 games, two whole seasons of top level football behind the leaders of his class. i didnt say i dont think hes got some nice attributes, likewise sharp he was clearly a targetted recruit and a moneyball selection given what we believe his output will be compared to teh price of the trade but i am not overly optomistic either one will have any meaningful or consistent impact in the next 12-24 months at which point both will be 24yo's with 6 years in the league. look how quickly geelong make calls on their draftees. with many not being given longer than the initial 1 or 2 years. we almost always extend out to 4 for every draftee which limits our felxibility at this time of year

The Tobie Travaglia Thread
im on board SONS! (we see eye to eye too often) would go past hore immediately and howes, amw pretty quickly too imo coupled with salems inconsistent availability and boweys lack of progression i think this is good business. couple him up with langford for mine
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
i think given the likelihood 5 is a mid, for mine langford i would be taking a different type at 9. so travaglia is my target and maybe a bid on lombard as they fit needs and are high quality players, targetting needs with late picks is good however theyre also less likely to succeed so taking a high end needs based player can fix a hole for a decade. hence travaglia. i believe he'd be playing regularly by the byes and would move ahead of quite a few similar types almost immediately. given the loss of ANB is somewhat covered by sharp whilst lombard bid will almost certainly be matched, if they surprised everyone and let him through i wouldnt be upset either. if we go tauru at 5 (i predict the roos at 6 for him) then bo allen would make sense at 9
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
its langford for mine, and travaglia or tauru (if north dont take him at 6) at 9. trainor im unfamiliar with but he or armstrong would be my go at 9 if Travaglia is gone. but given we've taken jeffo and kentfield in recent drafts i dont think another key forward would be the priority. im fully anticipating the roos tigers pick 2 trade to happen as roos dont need inside mids which is the top 5.

Delistings 2024
Petty should be tattoo'd into the full back goalswquare for the next decade. he could be an all australian if they actually let him flourish, even throwing turner behind the ball when may or mcdonald got subbed out of games ahead of petty was really poor to see imo from the coaching group Cloggers: Laurie, Billings, McAdam, Sharp, Howes, Fullarton, and chandler is probably lucky we dont have another top class small forward

2024 List and Contract Details
they seriously need to put a ban on players being shuffled back, its a pisstake that darragh joyce after 17 years as a fringe player can be moved around in this way. the only way i'd allow it would be after the mandatory ND 2yr contract and zero games, they allow u to drop back, ala the freo ruckman knobel. as that is a genuine rookie who is developing slowly. but blokes like joyce are senior players regardless of his irishness. invite him to train on sure but dont be allowed to slide him back down you can go past 6 A rookies during the mid season draft when senior players are moved to inactive list. but at the beginning of each season this has to be reset to a max of 6, hence why we had 7 when kentfield replaced brayshaw

Delistings 2024
hopefully its petty returns down back, meaning jeffo might get a look in or we go with just jvr and turner and then fritsch melky mcadam combo for the third tall, like the hawks this year, more dynamic less predictable going inside, of course this is reliant on being able to hit players on leads and we know how we go at that...
-
Nathan Krueger - Delisted
if we're going for a delisted tall, u want reliability. so membrey is front of the queue. down back id look at ethan phillips or harry arnold but probably unnecessary as im expecting petty goes back next year

2024 List and Contract Details
20 would fit nicely on my back, pretty happy in the 42 tho, havent moved in the last 3 years so not particularly excited to move now. List is locked in 36 snr players 32 plus mcvee and amw picks 5&9 and 6 rookies (1 to fill) and 0 catb's (2 to fill)
-
Delistings 2024
this is the current lay of the list (u can see where i adjsuted from numerical order to adding players as they get added. believe mcvee and AMW* need to be upgraded at the 3yr mark *AMW can be delisted? or moved to the A list as he's under the 10 game threshold. so two of the grey tiles would be filled therefore blocking out a 6th and 7th 'A' rookie# #jsmith off the list would also make way for mcvee, tomlinson for amw and then we'd be in the position of having the two ND picks and 2 'A' spots which could be filled during the draft, or by yzes boy (unlikely) or by SSP or left for MSD

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
consider cal twomey and the tradies podcast dms flooded until i hear a good explanation, i also cannot find any reason why he would be ineligible

Malcolm Rosas Junior
dont think rosas is either

Trade Targets
Add Ollie Lord to the list as a Key Fwd and Erasmus and Sheldrick would be ahead of Davies and Hobbs for me. Ginbey has looked good as a backman, Hewitts body is struggling. Hence why graham and robertson r of interest to them
-
Malcolm Rosas Junior
they have Kako coming in plus the davey boys r still both around the mark wouldn't have them in this market.
-
Malcolm Rosas Junior
1st point yes agreed 2nd nah i think theres better options he only played well in really wet ocnditions which is his bread and butter, he has no outside or kicking game hes just a bull

Delistings 2024
Verrall has shown signs stepping straight into the vfl no1 role as a teenager, trust the process with him. Kentfield i agree has been really uninspiring but given age, he gets another year Woey has shown signs, i liked him (and KBrown) in the half forward nibbler role more than i like him at half back, i dont think he kicks it overly well Adams i agree havent really heard or seen much to suggest he's making strides at casey and could be a bust
-
Welcome to Demonland: Ricky Mentha
Disagree Hore 27 and only got a spot coz seemingly we didn't have a clue what else to do with it AMW and Howes do nice things at VFL level but have yet to prove to me they are consistent afl players. Howes is a nice kick but defensive 1on1 ability, intercept marking, toughness, and burst/drive are all huge queries for mine AMW is tough and can tackle but again i havent seen any linebreaking and has been fumbly in the 1s too, also doesnt get enough of it or in the right spots to use it like he does at Casey Salo cant trust his body long term, Rivers is a mid which leaves Bowey (can't kick beyond 30m) and McVee (no notes) Feel like we're actually really thin here, not as thin as the guts but not flush with options

Delistings 2024
I'm assuming its BBrown, Schache, Hore, KFW, Smith, Brayshaw OUT AMW to A rookie Sestan, Kentfield, Melksham, Verrall, KBrown re-sign as A rookies Tomlinson, McDonald, Hunter re-sign can see a world where Tommo looks to get out: Blues, Eagles, Roos, Crows, Lions, Pies could all be in the market and offer him a different look and a longer deal. 25 we send Petty back down back and McDonald plays the 24 Tommo role as next in

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
I'm a fan of the Ned Long shout but would rather see us target Jack Macrae/Finn Macrae (both?) or Dev Robertson at the end of the season for a midfielder. I'd go tall for 6 months and have a look at options in our VFL program, either Scaife or Remy Maclean for mine or Pike if he gets to us but i doubt he will
