  1. Shaw had no idea what hit him..... Tapscott sent a msg to the AFL with that hit, do not mess with this kid.
  2. Laaaaaaaammmmmeeeee
  3. This thread is the worst in a looooong time on Demonland.... He was a standout in game 1, he struggled game 2, was average (like everyone else) in game 3.... Game 4 is still to come. If the MFC have already chosen their round 1 side before another practice game and 2 weeks of training then we are a second rate, pointless, borderline pathetic football department. Anyone who has ever played sport at a meaningful level or coached at any level would agree.
  4. Round 1 is two and a half weeks away.... I swear it's like some people have absolutely no idea haha. What if he kicks 6 against the Hawks? Whatever not bothering with this moronic thread any further than this statement.
  5. Bout time!! Maybe I should point out how big a deal what im posting is.... EVERYONE, READ THE AFL ARTICLE THAT I HAVE POSTED (PREPARE FOR HEARTACHE)
  6. Read my article I posted everyone.... http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/108571/default.aspx
  7. Ouch.... http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/108571/default.aspx
  8. Like the confidence of "see him in the semi" from Hardtrack!
  9. Yep, 4 quarters, no stupid out of bounds rule... Only dif to the real thing is more players and supergoals.
  10. Excited to see the new guys live, Evans, Howe, Cook, going to be great to watch. I predict the Dees win by 20pts.
  11. I think this girl is hilarious.... She is set for life with all this, sell her story for hundreds of thousands. Talk shows, book deal, magazine interviews for hundreds of thousands. Cover of Zoo/FHM for thousands. She is going to make alot of money, then probably score herself a gig on getaway or some show like that in 5 years time.
  12. 2 goals or not..... I just do not like Maric....
  13. Even that was awesome for me, just love MFC
  14. I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark, When he made Pearl Harbor.
  15. Can't wait to see Howe and Blease in action... Looking forward to the usuals such as LJ, Col, Trengove etc Naturally pumped for the golden one Jesus H Watts But really NAB cup is great for the first year players, so Cook, Nicholson, Johnstone, Evans, Mcdonald, show us what ya got!!
  16. That took you 5 minutes to read?
  17. Number 6 has been my whipping boy for a few years.... I don't see that changing for me. However, on second thought I am open to change, just learn how to run faster, be smart with your possession and not go missing for weeks at a time and you might just gain the approval of this highly respected member of the Melbourne faithful. Then again... I am just some random Melbourne supporter who's opinion on your skills shouldn't and won't affect you at all.... Carry on Bater.
  18. Bruce is getting a one year deal with an option clause. He will have to meet certain kpi's to get a second year deal (this won't be asking much) It will be as simple as play 8 games and you get a guaranteed contract. It's a very NBA way of handling player contracts that we will see alot in the future, team options/player options, accepting/declining. Be assured folks, Bruce is basically getting a 2 year deal, at Melbourne he was offered no option and was told no matter how many games he played the FD would decide on next year, next year.
  19. Exactly.
  20. And of course you are right, we should all badger on to our MCC mates to buy MFC memberships (even if it's only the $50 one). I have no problems with people wanting that, considering I own 2 memberships as well as recently getting my brother and 2 other mates to sign up to the MFC aswell. My issue is people who says things like I have no time for those people... Purely because you do not know the circumstances, so it's a bit toolish to act like they are any less of a supporter or Melbourne fan than you. There would be people who absolutely LOVE the Demons, but are not a member of MFC or MCC because they simply cannot afford. It's the same situation, it does not make them any less of a supporter. All it means is that they are not a financial backer. I agree with selling the club and badgering away one MCC supporter at a time. What I don't agree with is randoms making judgement calls on people they know nothing about.
  21. I own an MCC membership and a MFC membership so your comment doesn't particulary affect me. However I must say that some people do not have a ton of money, so paying their $500+ for their MCC membership is quite a bit, so feeling as if they must buy a MFC membership that they will NEVER need to please the likes of you is very harsh. My feeling is that if your lucky enough to have the cash to buy both then you most certainly should do everything you can to help the club. But if you cannot afford the double all I ask is that you show up every week in your red and blue and cheer for the side. Im sure every Melbourne supporting MCC member would love a dual membership but not every single MCC member has a ton of coin (despite the stereotype).
  22. Bios on some of the unknown names: Corey Buchan Height: 188cm Weight: 79kg DOB: 24/05/92 Club: Dandenong Stingrays Bio: Medium-sized forward with immense strength and a great mark. Agility and endurance are both above par as well. On debut with the Dandenong Stingrays in May he kicked seven goals. In his own words What type of player are you? I'm a medium-sized forward with a good leap and strong hands. I have pretty good endurance and like presenting up the ground, running my opponent around. For my local club I predominately played a s a midfielder and defender so I am able to play a variety of roles. Which AFL player do you feel you resemble and why? Mark LeCras. While not overly tall he is very strong overhead. He can crumb the ball when required and he is good on a lead. He knows where the goals are and is a very good set shot for goal. What are your strengths as a footballer? My strengths are my marking as well as my set shots for goal. My ability to find space in the forward line and read the game are also strengths. My skills are good. What parts of your game would you like to improve? My strength. I have been working hard on it this year but my body hasn't fully matured yet. Also my tackling. I've been working on it throughout the year and while it's improved there's still room for it to get better. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them? Essendon. My dad barracked for them and he had a big influence on me. Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why? My Dad. He has helped me along every step of the way. He doesn't sugar-coat things. He tells me what I need to improve and I listen. Corey Cassidy Height: 188cm Weight: 76kg DOB: 21/06/92 Club: Oakleigh Chargers (Vic) Bio: Medium forward with impressive speed and a strong mark. Took 18 marks in eight matches with the Oakleigh Chargers in 2010. In his own words What type of player are you? Medium tall, mainly forward but can play in various positions. Good mobile lead-up team-first player who gives 100 per cent all the time. Which AFL player do you feel you resemble and why? Angus Monfries. Versatility, being able to play both ends of the game and through the middle. What parts of your game would you like to improve? My fitness, so I can keep working and provide options. Kicking on both feet. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them? Richmond, through my dad. Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why? Mark Hibbins, who coached me for a year and always pushed me to do a bit more, try a bit harder, Steve Grace, coaching me at the Chargers, who tells me how to improve and what to work on. Brad Harvey Height: 185cm Weight: 83kg DOB: 16/04/92 Club: Eastern Ranges (Vic) In his own words What type of player are you? An outside midfielder who can run quickly over the first 20m. I can play inside and win my own ball and I’m a competitor. Which AFL player do you feel you resemble and why? Bryce Gibbs - I can play inside and outside and also Ryan Griffen because I can run and take the game on. What are your strengths as a footballer? My pace and my want to win the contest in-close. What parts of your game would you like to improve? I'd like to take the game on more often, my kicking needs a little improvement and at times my decision making can be a little slow, but it's getting a lot better. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them? Essendon. My dad followed them and his mum did too. I’ve been a member there for thirteen years. Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why? My dad early in my career because he used to always help me and taught me to kick on my left foot. Now it would be Wayne McCraw who used to be at the Eastern Ranges because he has a great knowledge of the game and tells it like it is not what I want to hear. Cameron Johnston Height: 181cm Weight: 78kg DOB: 24/02/92 Club: Geelong Falcons (Vic) Kevin Sheehan says: Quick and versatile player who can play a hit-up forward role or go down back. Very athletic type overall and a long kick. In his own words What type of player are you? I consider myself to be a fast-running half-forward/midfielder who can kick goals. I can also play in the backline to rebound the ball either by foot or by carrying and drawing with speed. I run, carry and break lines. Which AFL player do you feel you resemble, and why? A few players - Ryan O’Keefe, Andrew McLeod and Brett Ebert. I can play a running half-back like McLeod, as a midfield/half-forward like O’Keefe, or be a hit-up target like Ebert. What are your strengths as a footballer? My running ability, both pace and long distance, and long kicking. I can run a 2.8 in a 20m sprint and continuously drop punt a ball 60m. My main strength is that I can play in a number of positions. What parts of your game would you like to improve? My game knowledge and set up. I'm also always working on my skills on both sides to be the best player I can possibly be. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them? Geelong - we live in Geelong and my whole family supports them. My favourite player when I was growing up was Garry Hocking. Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why? My St Joseph's senior coach, Mark Havey. He has helped me in all areas of my game and has given me the opportunity to play key roles at senior level at a young age. Alex Mcleod Height: 181cm Weight: 72kg DOB: 28/01/92 Club: Calder Cannons (Vic) Bio: Lightly-built midfielder who has exceptional pace and agility. Played in Calder Cannons' 2010 TAC Cup premiership team. In his own words What type of player are you? Medium-sized outside player that can also win my own ball. I have very good speed and evasiveness and have very good defensive pressure via chase down tackles and other one percenters. Which AFL player do you feel you resemble and why? Danyle Pearce because we have similar body types, good speed and the ability to take opponents on and carry the ball. What are your strengths as a footballer? My speed, agility, quick hands, defensive pressure and ability below my knees. What parts of your game would you like to improve? My kicking efficiency on both my left and right and not holding onto the ball for too long. Instead of taking on two or three opponents I should take on one then dispose of the ball. Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them? Essendon because I started barracking for them as a kid because of my brother. Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far, and why? John McMillan, my midfield coach at the Calder Cannons. In the last two years he has spent a lot of one on one time with me working on deficiencies in my game and improving my strengths.
  23. I see Howe in number 7... 23 won't be used next season, just my opinion.
  24. Heard that rumour earlier today, totally untrue. Reece Conca was one of the original 25 invited by the AFL to be live at the Gold Coast. He was always going.
  25. Absolutely ridiculous. You have ZERO entitlement or ownership to this club, absolutely zero. The people who get to vote are the people who support the club, the people who will be paid up members, the people who will go to their games. How would you feel if any supporter of another club felt entitled to an opinion about MFC? Or does that only apply to interstate clubs who are just starting out? Every football club has to start somewhere.
