You didn't rate him in his B&F year? Ok you are more than entitled to your opinion. This thought that every player on an AFL team has to be this suicidal dive at the contest, stand up in finals etc thing is so ridiculous and overdone. All you have to do to be valuable in finals and a premiership team is to fit in within the gameplan and play your role. Steven Armstrong played finals for West Coast and kicked goals in the grand final. Steven Armstrong.... So get off Davey's back and stop acting like suddenly we all know what it takes to be a premiership team. Every single team is filled with different types of personalities and game styles. If he fills his role then he is a finals player, he doesn't need to "stand up", he just needs to play... And if our current dodgey team needs a player who can actually deliver the ball by foot and snag a goal then that is probably why we should play him. Or maybe I should just be like every other MFC supporter and say we could play a kid? Woo hoo a kid!! Get these senior players away from the kids!! won't somebody please think of the children!! Bad senior players are better than no senior players.

I know it is a hated thought but I would still like to see Davey playing as a defender as he did in 2009, as Leon Davis did last year and as Chris Yarran is this year. Speed to run it out of defense, skills to deliver the ball out of the 50 and a specific role. Melbourne supporters are the absolute worst when it comes to attacking players. They are the worst because they say things like "never seeing Davey in a Melbourne jumper again"... They say these things knowing full well a week from now we will all complain about our side looking slow and having no players who can deliver the ball by foot wah wah wah. Here are the facts: Best user of the ball in the club Still top 3 for speed in the club Showed no effort in round 1 although he did lay 5 tackles which was ok I guess We have no senior players at all. When will we as a supporter group recognise that even dud senior players are better than none Oh and the single most important fact in all this, there is absolutely no one on our list who is screaming out for the role Davey plays, not one. Don't give me Blease (he is even softer than Davey) Don't give me Tapscott (he is underdone and doesn't have the required pace) Don't give me Bennell (do I even need to explain?) Don't give me Strauss (I have faith in his ability but has shown nothing and coming off a broken leg) Don't give me Nicholson (he is quick but doesn't dispose of the ball well or make good decisions)

I am looking forward to: Clark kicking a few goals Frawley giving Riewoldt a footballing lesson.... again Winning the game, which we will.

You don't by what though? Do you not believe that Aaron Davey is our most skillful player? Because he is, no one on the MFC list can hit a target like him. This is why we need Davey, our team desperately needs some skill.

As I said in the other thread... We all need to understand that footy clubs know players really well, and naturally they would rate the hell out of Davey, his skills are amazing despite losing a step of pace, so they would want him in the team. Also that being said his lost a step of pace means he is still quicker than 80% of the league... At the end of the day Davey HAS proven something, he has proven over many years that he is the most skillful player in this god awful team. One of the only players who can deliver the ball by foot, and can at least make something positive happen. He was bad alot of last season and in round 1... But considering how bad our team is I am not even a little bit surprised that the coaches want to rush him back in the team.

I am not sure who will be out, but Davey, Couch, Martin will all come in. I would also like to see Tappy and Morton but doubt it will happen. Rory is a powerful young guy who is very hard to tackle, I hope his bullish approach in juniors translates to the VFL and then AFL.

No I am not easily impressed, I just prefer to throw blame at the people who actually did nothing at all. We can't drop 22 and there were worse offenders than Davey. To repeat myself, Davey was bad on the weekend... But there were others who were worse than him.

I also saw him lay 5 tackles and make the effort to smother an opposition players kick on 2 occasions.... Like I said in the selection thread, Davey did not play well on the weekend. But he tried alot harder than a few others.

Let me preface this by saying Davey didn't play very well at all on the weekend.... But I don't understand how he has been put in the same category as Blease and Green when it comes to awful. At the very very very least, Davey laid 5 tackles and I saw him smother the ball twice. That to me says he tried, just didn't play very well. There is a difference between playing bad and trying. Players who didn't try in my opinion were Blease, Green, Jamar, Moloney, Rivers. Davey sucked, but I don't think he put in no effort like everyone is acting like he did.

It's so stupid, I love hip hop and rap but you don't see me acting like a tool when I play footy.... Thats what basketball is for.

I refuse to believe that Jurrah would be the one swinging the machete.... However if he was there he is an accessory and would see jail time. The amount of times I have defended Liam in my life when ignorant morons say "when is he going to go walkabout?" etc. This just upsets me greatly.... As now I am sure we will here in our general life about how it was always going to happen. What annoys me is that the entire nation is going nuts over the whole KONY thing because it's cool, but everyone will continually ignore the extremely serious issues in our own backyard up north. Instead the masses will go on thinking that the indigenous community are just savages and we will never really do anything to help them. Liam has been given an amazing life and opportunity, if it has been wasted it will be an extremely dark day for the club, Liam and in my opinion our nation. I simply must believe he wasn't directly involved, unfortunately I believe being an accessory is the best possible outcomes.

Unlike Judd, Gaff was actually a true Melbourne supporter, like Grimes was. I know for a fact (personal knowledge) that he is a massive Melbourne supporter and that his family are members of both West Coast and Melbourne. We would be a massive chance to get him.

Well said Eddie.... About time that we, as a football club both inside and out learnt to stand up for ourselves. If this had happened to Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn, Essendon then it would have hit the fan and answers would be demanded. I love my club but from an outsiders perspective (which does matter because of sponsors, fixtures and free to air) we are weak and happily took it from GWS and the AFL as we usually do.

Skinner, Patrick, this kid Manson... All compared to Jurrah but observors... Maybe people call Jurrah a one off special talent because he is actually a ONE OFF SPECIAL TALENT! Annoys me that every aborginal kid who has a bit of height and can jump is 'the next Jurrah'.... Jurrah is special beyond freakish abilities and we all know it.

Feel free to boo him because he left, but don't boo him for accepting money. Otherwise we will be epic hypocrits when we cheer for Clark (not saying it was just a money decision, but that is how it is perceived by most)

If a new coach, new club, new situation rejuvenated Daniel Motlop then he is a very worthy pick up. His talent is undeniable. However the structure is a worry due to the lack of a team mindset as well as a lack of defensive pressure.
