  1. Yeah im Dean Bailey genius.... go support someone else you whinge.
  2. You pack of sad sacks get over it!!!! We were 17 points down at 3 quarter time against a likely grand finalist, who then kicked away to win by 6 goals. What more did you expect??????? Why do you think we are so special that we could easily turn it on and beat the Saints even though 90% of the comp currently can't? Unrealistic, stupid, wankerish comments... Grow up and realise we were NEVER going to win that game and you should just look at the positives, they tackled hard, ran as much as you can with a team of men and there were some real positives from the young guys. Dead set the only upsetting thing is that Grimes got hurt. Other than that the result is surely better than what you could have expected before the game? After last weekend, the fact we are playing the saints, it was at Etihad and we were in the clash top what the hell did you expect? I AM SO OVER ALL YOU FOOLS CRYING AFTER EVERY SINGLE GAME!!!!! WE ARE NOT A PREMIERSHIP CONTENDER YET SO WAKE UP AND SHUT THE HELLLLLL UP!!!! PATIENCE AND LOGIC!!!!
  3. We don't need that much size in that back half, it's a weakness. We also need another KF who can kick goals. Watts will be a gun but needs time and a real target to be second fiddle to for a while. Someone who is better than Miller. Someone who is a known goal scorer... As much as I hate that punchable [censored] named Anthony, he fits the bill.
  4. Bit of a sad states of affairs with all this bagging you hear about Flethcer.... Would have loved Fletcher ahead of Nicho, Shanahan etc. 300 games at AFL level, premiership full back. Who cares if he has tripped someone a few times? No one would have cared about that if he played for their club.
  5. I actually think Hampson would be a great pick up. People will probably get up in arms saying we don't want someone who can't start somewhere else but he is stuck at the moment and could definately be a great 2nd ruckman.
  6. Said this in another thread. Dean Bailey said on SEN that Jack Watts WILL play. So please stop putting him as an out.
  7. Was just on the SEN news hour. Grabs from the press conference.
  8. Just heard Bailey on the radio and he said Watts will play.
  9. Bailey did recently say that he sees Beamer, Davey and Rivers as possible captains, and for the future he could see Grimes, Watts, Trengove and Scully being leaders as they have been in their junior careers. Either way I think Bailey would love Mcdonald to play on and not worry about the decision just yet.
  10. Wouldn't consider Wona to be in my top 5 faves, but no doubt there is some love there. However I would argue that he needs match fitness, further to this, AFL match fitness. Much like how we did with Bate earlier in the year and how we are doing with Watts right now. Bate wasn't fit and Watts isn't AFL fit. But play them anyway to get that momentum. Despite what people think Wona did chase and tackle to the best of his abilities and will be so much better for the run. This year was never about finals, and while we are enjoying an ok run and I will be singing the song when we win, I also understand that we are still developing. Helping Wona get consistent AFL footy this year will give him a huge fitness/confidence boost for the pre-season and 2011 where I am expecting a finals appearance. That being said, I see the warrants of him not playing, I just do not agree and hope the coaches agree with me.
  11. Wayyyyyyyyy more than the whole team haha. 10M per season for the next 5 years I think was his new deal...
  12. Scully - Judd (He has always looked Judd like, thats the first thing I thought when I saw him play in the under 18's) Trengove - Bartel (Only because I had to choose one) Gysberts - Corey (He is just like Joel Corey, not fast but not slow, not strong but not weak, not tall but not short. Just an absolute ball magnet) Watts - Jesus (It is hard to compare anyone to Jack, but Jesus would be close) Tapscott - Chapman (Strong bodied, goal kicking, long bombing player. I can't wait. McKenzie - JnrMC (I think we have another player, just like our own captain fantastic James McDonald.
  13. Im assuming there is a guy who looks like him?
  14. Why drop Wonaeamirri? He was one of the very few guys who actually could tackle strongly against the Cats. No way will he be dropped for working hard.
  15. I really like JoelMac. He is a strong bodied competitor and rarely gets beaten in one on one situations. Just because he played bad against North Melbourne doesn't mean he is a dud or list clogger, if it is then we had 22 list cloggers that day. While he was delisted by the Lions and didn't play in the finals, he still played round 1 through to round 22 in a side that made the finals. So to think he shouldn't get a game with us who despite improvement and early wins are not a top 8 side, is just ludicrous.
  16. Sticky, slippery, sweaty conditions..... Spencer? He isn't good when it's dry with no winds. My god this better be tactics for a late withdrawal so Jetta gets in.
  17. Which isn't really a bad thing..... I mean who cares if he has to wait a little bit longer? It's his first year, as a high draft pick he will definately get 4-5 years. So why rush?
  18. Bailey said on One Week at a time that he could see a few of the kids developing into captain. But for the next captain he threw up 3 names.... Brent Moloney, Aaron Davey and Jared Rivers. You don't even mention the word captain if you don't believe someone is a certain starter in your squad. All this is opinion, but one thing is for certain everyone... Jared Rivers will be playing week in, week out (barring injuries) for the Melbourne Demons.
  19. I love Jack Watts...... Surely the next step of this thread?
  20. It's his 2nd season and he has already played 15 games.... it's not like he has clogged up the list and really struggled to get a game since we drafted him. He is past his injury and will be back in the red and blue before the season is out. Maric, Macnamara and Cheney are all closer to gone than Jetta would have been. That being said I think we will see them all stay aswell with compromised drafts on the horizon.
  21. I wanted us to trade for Dawes last year, his value has sky rocketed now so there is no point. No one is worth it. We have Watts and Jurrah, hopefully one of our ruckmen develops the ability to play forward, or Fitzpatrick makes it. Either way im happy with what we have.
  22. Get over it guys.... if you have long hair and you play footy you will cop it verbally and sometimes physically. He would have been getting worse than that since the day he grew his hair. Seems everything in footy is a "dog act" these days. Not a big deal, nothing to do with Demons, wouldn't have hurt.
  23. Pretty rare I reply to a joke post, but that was gold. Well done Disco.
  24. Grimes punches the ball away from the Eagles forward line and towards the wing..... NicNat picks up the ball and McKenzie lays a bone crunching tackle....... Advantage called, Scully swoops on the loose ball and breaks away....... Scully handpasses inside the corridor to the run of Trengove........ Trengove lowers the eyes and hits Jack Watts on a blistering lead....... Watts lines up, relaxes the shoulders and puts through a goal. DEMONS WIN!
