  1. Right now Baker, Sparrow, Jordon, Vanders and Harmes isn't scaring any opposition as the 4th midfielder. Shows how big a loss Viney is, because he can easily break loose and get 30 if you don't put time into him. Not saying Sparrow/Jordon can't be top mids in the future, but right now both look to be more solid contributors to passengers, but that's okay because they're young.
  2. Really shoudn't considering Salem was invisible until 2nd half, May was beaten in the air by a kid consistenly and Lever was fumbly until we took control. Rivers* locked down Stephenson really well.
  3. What will happen OUT: Tomlinson, Jones IN: Petty, Harmes What should happen OUT: Tomlinson, Melksham, Baker IN: Weideman, Sparrow, Bedford
  4. Gawn - Dominated by Goldstein Hibberd - Costly errors today May - Not his best Tomlinson - Gutted for him Lever - Lifted 2nd half Salem - Same as above Rivers - Our best defender Baker - Wasn't ready today Langdon - Our best midfielder Petracca - Lacked leadership today Oliver - Good final quarter Fritsch - Best on ground McDonald - Big call coming Spargo - Quietly good today Pickett - Clean when needed Brown - Okay not good Jackson - Rising star award? Jones - Slow but composed Hunt - Good 2nd half Neal-Bullen - Frustrating final quarter Jordon - 2nd best midfielder Melksham - 1 good quarter
  5. He was everything wrong with Melbourne in the first half. Couldn't hit a kick, tried to do something and turned it over. Didn't feel like he had an opponent.
  6. The two things that might save him is no damage (it seems) and he had no time to react/adjust to the north player coming in low. He can argue the arm wasn't high at all. Unfortunately, i think he gets a week because they will say it looked bad so expect, high and careless.
  7. This comes down to attribute thing. Tomlinson was tall, strong and deceptively quick over 10 yards allowing him to do really well on the bigger lockdown forwards. What we saw from Petty, if you forgive his mistakes and say it was rust/inexperience, was a guy who didn't want to get caught on a lead and would rather wrestle. McDonald (vs little competition) today showed he has the attributes to cover what Tomlinson brought. Now the next point is, bringing Petty in is like for like. Sending McDonald back opens up the door for Weid and keeps him happy. Brown looked a tad slow and immobile today, but it was his first AFL level game in a while and we butchered nearly every pass too him. Weid, is very similar to what we saw from Brown today. Having two of the same player might cause chemistry and balance issues throughout the entire squad. I still would rather McDonald back, because i think May and Lever looked a lot more concerned when he didn't drift back. Obviously, it didn't help our midfield got smashed, Gawn was rattled and North couldn't miss a kick even if they tried. We genuinely can't afford Petty having another first half like he did against Hawthorn against any side not named Hawthorn, North Melbourne and possibly the Pies. What i want: McDonald back Weid IN What i think happens: Petty IN
  8. Baker is not AFL standard. Melksham awful. Gawn has been dominated by Goldstein. Oliver and Trac need to get a hold of the midfield. McDonald missing. North not missing a kick.
  9. Sam's a lovely kick and he attacks contests hard. Probably doesn't have a big gas tank which is why his pressure isn't great, but at the same time i really doubt B. Brown is going to be a pressure machine. He will have his place, i think the club just wasn't expecting T. Mac and Jackson to hold down the forward spots and also now Gawn is resting forward because our defence is holding their own. A lot of potential windows for Weid aren't open right now, things will change for sure.
  10. We will likely trade up to get him. Everyone saying oh but we don't have the points blah blah, Literally every teams draft order changes when the actual draft comes around.
  11. Doesn't matter, top of the ladder at round 7 means nothing
  12. I don't know why people are concerned about length. The only time you should be concerned about length is when your putting a contract to a player who is 28+. Trac is 25? 7 years, sure why not. Covers his peak years and makes him the face of Melbourne.
  13. Shocking from Freeman and North get there first goal >:(
  14. Half time Casey 8.9 57 - North 0.3 3 Ordinary final 10 of that qtr.
  15. Weid leads through 3 north players and gets it on his chest from Sparrow. Goes back and kicks his 3rd. 56 to 3
  16. Rosman gathers under little pressure and snaps from about 40 out and goals. First 2 of the qtr to Casey
  17. Is the ball heavier the VFL? Silly question but these players are underhitting the ball a lot.
  18. Daw with his best Gawn impression, Sparrow brilliant in traffic, Harmes from outside 50 gets the first of the 2nd.
  19. qtr time 4.6 30 plays 0.2 2 Weid, Sparrow, Jetta the best so far.
  20. Weid another contested Mark hand passes to sparrow who shanks it around the body. Could have had 10 this quarter.
  21. Sparrow with an incredible ball to Weid who just misses, nearly 3 in the first for Weid who is close to BOG
