Interstate fans opportunity to access Grand Final Tickets
MurDoc516 replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm a WA demon with the 2021 Access Membership. Does that mean i'm prio 2 for tickets? -
Ill be filthy if Rivers or Jackson go. I honestly can't see it considering how those two are best buds and are also super close to the other boys (Rivers has a partner in Melbourne). Feel like this talk just to get Carlton to stump up whatever freo wants to be honest.

Geelong: keep Smith in for the Rohan match up Giants (w/ Greene): Hibbo has to come in you would think, Greene usually kicks a bag either way but you back in Hibberd when the going gets tough. Giants (w/ out Greene): Hunt? His 4th quarter was a shocker last time but he was the one getting into those positions and breaking the game open. Port Adelaide: Hunt and Hibberd both in for Bowey and Smith imo. Them and the dogs (if they play the same 22 as they did this week) have the best ground ball small forwards left, i think we need pace and experience. Bulldogs: As per above Lions: I think you bring Hibberd in the next time around.

Apparently Lever and May as a duo haven't given up more than 98 points together.

I was too invested in consuming post match content that i didn't get to writing my thoughts down, a little late now but none the less i feel a ton of pride in the boys to back up last week and the last months effort so emphatically. Sparrow, Nibbler and Brayshaw were all great last night, felt like any time we needed either of them to win the ball in a passage they delivered. I'm very critical of Harmes most weeks, thought he was fantastic again. This also goes to my points when critising him, last night he wasn't prolific but did the simple things well. Some games he can get 30 touches but make some silly mistakes or think he is a superstar mid and get caught on the ball. There were times last night when he got the ball in traffic and i felt very assured he would deal with it. Surprised to see a lack of superlatives for Petracca, felt like him and Oliver showed you what damaging players looked like. We win last night by 70+ if turns his first two points into goals. Lions were there for the taking and Petracca and Oliver were having fun bursting through any number of Lions that tried to tackle them. Back 6 brilliant in the air. Probably a little nervous in the first quarter and made some unusual errors leading to easy goals for small forward brigrade at the lions. Fantastic win all round, nervous for what lies ahead. I'll be representing the WA demon bigrade rain, hail or shine.

Spot on. Smith wasn't outworked last night, he was just vastly out smarted. It got so bad that i was just thinking with McStay down why don't we move May to Cameron. Smith can play tall and Daniher was having to work up the ground, use Smith's pace as a weapon in that scenario. I disagree on the Rivers and Hunt part of your comment, both have great offensive weapons but i don't look at either of them and think they will get beaten badly by whatever opponent they take. Smith for me last night was always the big question going in, the commentators kept making it out like Smith wasn't on Cameron from the start when he was. If we play GWS, Greene usually destroys us anyway. We've played Hibberd and May on the guy but he finds his way to get a goal. So it will be harsh for me to say i'd want Hibberd to have another crack over Smith but i feel like if our midfield actually shows up against the Giants for more than a quarter we should have enough to run over them. Maynard would be a big get considering i've seen him play tall and small this year and successfully lockdown as needed.

Is there a team more haunted by its history than us? You could argue St. Kilda and there Grand Final record, but I'd say a team that was absurdly dominant failing to make finals for 22 straight years and then always either been unlucky or smashed when it matters. I'm a sports fan, so I am naturally superstitious, if we win it this year coming from 9th after 57 years with Norm being 57 when he died, I'll say this was a real curse.
-
WA demon, don't think anything is in this. It's crazy with Jackson's recent rise a lot of Eagles and Dockers fans talking about him as the next big target. We need to lockdown Jacko, Rivers and Kozzy above all bar Oliver now that we've got Trac, Salem, Viney and Gawn locked in for life basically.
-
We literally won everything, as Daisycutter said our salary capped is cooked. The words Oliver said about Goody, that boy ain't going nowhere. Let's hope we clean sweep the Charlie, Norm Smith and Premiership too.

Which Dees Players Grew Up Supporting Us?
MurDoc516 replied to pinkshark's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clearly we need to just draft Melbourne supporters based on these lists... -
If Gunston is fit (club staff would know better than any of us) and if we can get him for peanuts it's a good pickup to win now, which is what we want to do. Weid's gone if this does happen though. Brown, T. Mac and Gunston in rotation is tasty, considering i imagine all 3 will pick up knocks.
-
Hopefully North go in for Weid and give us a 2nd rounder. That way we can have a crack for Mac Andrew.
-
He will go to North if he does leave. Pies don't have the currency unless we accept futures.

Jess Gawn to deliver during finals?
MurDoc516 replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
He chained up all their wives. Why does he have to be there? -
Big game for me personally, i have a brother who is a mad lions supporter and i'd much rather not have to hear his annoying cheering and gloating. Key strength for the Lions is there midfied. Obviously this lines up with a strength of ours. I'm nervous about this as this will likely swing the game either way and i don't think a great midfield should get soundly beaten like we have on occassions this year. Key points to focus on from the game earlier in the season. Pickett targeted Rich all night. Nullified what was a great weapon in his long kick by pressuring every disposal. Their on ball bigrade really went quiet after half time (they all still managed 23-28 touches each). Hipwood, who isn't going to play this time around, kicked 1.4. Sort of kept us in it early. Zac Bailey, we didn't really have an answer for. Salem was the main guy on him but didn't have the pace to stop him on the break. Daniher gassed really badly. The famous clip of that team goal off half back happens because Daniher basically walked with his arms stretched in attempt to stop his opponent from running off him. We need to be on it for all 4 quarter this time around. We won't get 2nd chances this time around. I think our defence is more than capable of holding up but i do have concerns on the Bailey and Cameron match ups. Jackson and Gawn have to expose their ruck situation. We have the biggest ruck weapons of all 8 teams, Brisbane probably have a decent ruckman by the standards of some of the other top 8 teams. So we need to lay down a marker and get future opponents worried.
-
re-watch the game from earlier in the season, they already tried this. Stopped working once umpires paid attention. Doubt it, AFL does not care about Neutral grounds or any kind of advantage. They make it up as they go, Brisbane got the benefit of playing every game at Gabba last year...

I've always liked the MFC logo below. The only problem i have is i have an arm which will give a tattoo artist nightmares (very skinny). I suppose i can get it on my forehead. Also, i don't think a simple MFC would look nice on it's own. Needs something to go with it.
-
Rivers?!?! Kid is a gun, how many kids you see slot into the best defence in the league and play as consistenly as him? If Rivers wanted to leave, i'd want a HIGH first round pick for him at the minimum.

People telling Charlie to stop ducking when he's gotten us a fair few goals by doing it. If Charlie Spargo ducks and wins a free kick, that turns into a goal to win us a Grand Final i'll call in to Melbourne radio and tell everyone complaining to suck [censored] and praise be to the short blonde stallion that is Charlie Spargo.
-
Wouldn't break the bank for him. While he probably offers the outside ability we need, we have 1 too many midfielders currently + no picks and a tight cap.

As much as it's nice for Trac to say it's for the fans, the players should soak it up. Us fans have had some brilliant wins this season to saviour already and we are all desperate for a flag. This group has turned around in 12 months to go from an inconsistent, one way running unit to the undisputed best team of the H/A season. That's an incredible achievement, one that is going unnoticed in the media. The players needed to win that game for themselves as a reward for the work they've put in. Now they need to take this feeling and turn it into hunger to get the ultimate prize. Drought breaking premiership players will see them all immortialized no matter what they go and do from here on out. Guys like Gawn, Trac, Oliver will likely go down as all time greats of our club if they bag this. But guys like Petty, Smith and Sparrow who found themselves in a position to go down as heroes and then the new kids like Kozzi, Jackson, Rivers and Bowey all can be premiership players within 2 years of debuting.

Maynard would take the spot Smith currently holds you would think (which was Hibbo's and Jetta's prior).
-
I love the royal blue jumper, i think it's the perfect away shirt. If we got to a granny and were in royal blue, i wouldn't care in the slightest because i'll be there in my royal blue jumper.

I know there is a lot of talk about the grounds currently, but bringing the focus to the potential matchups and the weapons each team has i think i should highlight a segment from 360. The King and Montagna segment, Montagna reckons the 'striker' midfield forwards will be the difference. Petracca is the best overall from all the stats pulled of the 8 players they pulled from current top 8 teams. Then King says he thinks the intercept defender is the key. Lever is #1 and #2 in the two catergories they used. I've already seen it mentioned how we are #1 in basically all terms of without the ball and defending. This is really our chance.
-
It's not really an option is it? Also, i think we play well at that ground anyway. We certainly have a better record than most clubs despite the odd thumping.
