PODCAST: Rd 04 vs West Coast
What's underwhelming to you about his season so far? Don't just say he's underwhelming and not provide something to actually critique. Per my comment in response to Travy14 about Petty, our D50 looks weirdly out of shape due to the rotation of Petty forward. I think Brayshaw is a victim of this as he's being asked to man a mid-sized or a tall key forward at times. Aside from that, I think he offers a hard head and composure to our D50 which helps us lock the ball in our forward half.

To add onto this, I was at the game sat in the 2nd tier stand behind the goal at the Melbourne cheer squad end. It was noticeable when the Eagles went forward that they had advantageous match ups constantly but poor kicking/decision making got us off the hook. Harrison Petty is a good player so he will have games up forward that are really damaging and will make us want to persist with him up forward but in my opinion, we need 3 talls + a mid-size option like Hibberd in our D50. Not 2 talls, 1 mid-size option and 3 smalls.

NON-MFC: Rd 04 2023
This injury sub might work out for the dogs, despite Keath being their best defender. They are all over the Tigers and getting a fresh player for the 2nd quarter could lead to this being a blow out.

Doggies looking good, which is good for my tips.

Thank you to Claremont & East Fremantle
It does swing in roundabouts but I look at the Crows/Power and now Eagles in their rebuild, it's insane how much good SA talent is there that they could've picked up themselves.

I really don't understand why interstate teams don't favour draft players from their state. You completely eliminate go home factor and make it extremely hard for other players to poach your lads.

How close are Gawn/Oliver/Petracca to Cox/Judd/Cousins ?
If Oliver and Petracca play at this level for another 5 years then it will be hard to argue they weren't better just for the body of work. Remember Judd left West Coast, Cousins went off the rails and Kerr became injury prone. Oliver and Trac are here until 2029. Gawn will retire a lifer. In our history, you will be hard press to not include those 3 in our best-ever 22 after all is said and done.

PODCAST: Match SIM vs St. Kilda
Over the last 4 years, 26 current listed players have played 5 or more games a season. Do you think that's enough rotation? I wouldn't be against McVee, JVR, Taj, Laurie and Howes all getting runs from round 1 to the BYE and then you pick your best 22 from there. What are your thoughts?

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
Binns won't go top 20. Don't think we will get Cadman or Jefferson with this pick but lets wait and see.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Gawn's best work has always been his influence around the ground. People point to his ruck stats but when he was clunking contested marks on the regular and being a brick wall to stop teams transitioning we were incredible. Then for the 2021 final series I had the treat of attending and watching the opposition sweat when he wandered forward and tossed around key backs for fun. The idea to make him a permenant forward in my opinion has it's flaws, but I think Jackson wasn't offering us enough at times as the second ruck or even as forward for it to even have a chance of working. Grundy gives headaches. It wasn't long ago him and Gawn were the MVP's of the league. Players who caused headaches for opposition teams are worth their weight in gold and we should welcome as many of these players into our team as possible.

POSTGAME: SF vs Brisbane
If you can only be happy if we win the thing then you will never be happy. The team need to figure out what went wrong because the idea everything would sort it self out never felt realistic. Van Rooyen could have done no worse this final series then what Brown and Melksham put up, so that's somewhere to start.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Beaten without much of whimper on our home deck, not impossible to defend it from here but our weakness just showed themselves again tonight. We need an actual 2nd Ruckman. Sending Gawn forward and leaving Jackson as no 1. for long spells was a disaster + Brown forward rucking? what a joke that was. We need a more agile key forward to replace Brown, if he can't play a full season then is that pedestrian in a qualifying final after a mini preseason mid season then we got problems. Finally we need to move Spargo back as a small forward. The ease the ball exits our forward 50 is no surprise when it's Brown, Gawn and Melksham chasing + Spargo is not suited to a wing.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Rivers take a bow, fantastic game. You know if May wins his matchup but is still the lowest rated defender of the night we've had some sort of a game.
