  1. Brad Miller at the Suns is the obvious choice, been a great forwards coach at GWS before moving to the Suns and I don't think it's the forwards that are the problems at the Suns. I'd be speaking to a Cotchin, Selwood, or Shuey(if he wants to relocate) in a player development role. No idea what Conca actually does. Could we get an ex-coach to replace Yze's role? There are options, Buckley, Cameron, Pyke?
  2. If Yze goes then that at least prompts a coaching change. We need someone who can fill the midfield coaching/assistant coaching role he fills. I think we need to either get a complete unknown and take a risk or do what we did in 2021 and go poach the best assistant in the business. Who those are, I'm not too sure and would love to hear suggestions. Brad Miller was a top forward's coach for GWS and is now at the Suns, Dimma is cutting people left and right, make an offer and bring him in. Trade - Need a ruckman to come in for Grundy. Reckon we stay far away from Chol as he is a terrible pressure based player. Matt Flynn just screams ideal candidate due to being basically free, 26, big body, above average in most metrics. A few preseasons would develop his tank and allow him to take a bulk of the ruck work post Gawn. Draft - Need to go hard for the Suns pick 4. If we can't get the Suns pick 4 we need to find a way to get all our picks inside the top 30 post all the academy, F/S and North comp picks which will be difficult. If we can get Pick 4 as it is now, think we draft McKercher or Duursma depending on who is available at the time (Hawks and North are both keen on Duursma). Then with Pick 5, grab O'Sullivan. Might be a bit overs and people will say get Watson instead but I think we need to seriously get ahead on the replacing Steven May plan and I think he will be a jet. If we have 1 or 2 picks inside the top 30 post that, I think we see if we can snag another Mid-sized defender with pace to replace Hibbo and a winger as Howes can't stay fit long enough to apply any real pressure to Ed and Hunter.
  3. If Petty and Smith are going forward and Tomlinson is out then O'Sullivan can start basically day 1. Best Key Defender in the draft. His Allies teammate McKercher will fall between pick 4 and 5. Quick outside midfield with a tidy left foot, reminds me of Shuey. Again, comparing to who we have, he could easily start.
  4. 9 goals 17 behinds. Sorry Stafford and Williams. Someone needs to go.
  5. O'Sullivan looks like the next Steven May.
  6. I've got more remorse for the incident which I am sure is against the grain on the forum. However, I did feel sick for Brayshaw and have been disgusted about the coverage of the incident. I did ask myself, what am I more angry at, the incident or the lack of care in the aftermath? All Goodwin needs to do is pull out the projector and play some of the atrocious clips of Eddie celebrating the tribunal decision, key football pundits openly weeping for Maynard on live TV without a single mention of Gus's health and the Collingwood chant going around the G while Brayshaw is stretchered off. If that doesn't put our boys in the frame of mind to conquer all in front of us just so we can get another crack at them on Grand Final day then I'm not sure what else we can do.
  7. At the end of the day, Brown and T. Mac have 1 year left each. They probably play 10 games between them next season. Schache is not the answer, the club knows it but are holding onto him because he is cheap. Jefferson's development will be one to watch, he didn't impact the VFL like JVR did so he might be another year away from the senior side although If we were a better ball movement team in transition I could see him getting games, he is a great lead-up target. JVR, Petty, and Smith are going to be the key talls we run with next year, absolutely no doubt about it. The club will rely on Fritsch, McAdam, Pickett, and Chandler to be the main goal threats. I think we need to look at KPD, not heard much about Adams and Turner just seems to randomly get picked for no rhyme or reason. Hibberd can't go again and we can't rely on May for much longer, he's had some serious form dips this season. The one thing I don't understand is why are we not looking at speedy midsized defenders. Rivers is the only with any dash and how many times did we get burned over the top on Thursday night?
  8. I won't celebrate an injury to anyone but thank god Goodwin doesn't have a choice.
  9. Just had the realisation that James Harmes is going to come in for Angus Brayshaw and I've now vomited everywhere. If we are going out in straight sets, please don't pile on the misery of watching Harmes torch teammates, try his dusty impression before getting pinged and miss directly in front set shots at crucial times in the again.
  10. Goodwin doesn't care about key forwards, he plays the numbers. You win more than you lose when you're in the green on those stats. There's still every chance we just get hot and win ourselves a flag. Less likely and less convincing now McDonald and Brown are older and our most consistent key forward this year has been a kid who played 20 games. A McAdam / Melksham type instead of Smith tonight and maybe a different story, but until the final 6 games of this season everyone would've said Melksham was passed, definitely know he's done his knee.
  11. That was a seriously impressive win. Key forwards going down left and right, Swans with elite pressure locking it in and star players not getting near it but they flicked the switch later in the 3rd and dominated the 4th. One of my most favourite wins aside from the finals wins.
  12. 6 - Lever 5 - Rivers 4 - Melksham 3 - Brayshaw 2- Viney 1- JVR
  13. Lads, Clarry would've played 3 weeks ago if he had the choice. He's being a dope because that's his character. The day before his infection he was shirtless, wet, barefoot, covered in grass in a parking lot saying he hopes he can get a game. For me, this interview and the one earlier in the season are the best interviews I've seen all year.
  14. 6 Gawn 5 Petty 4 Trac 3 Viney 2 Brayshaw 1 Nibbler
  15. 6 - Viney 5 - Pickett 4 - Tomlinson 3 - Brayshaw 2 - Chandler 1 - Rivers
  16. Thoughts on Petty being played while obviously hurt? Brisbane had free reign into our D50 until Joel Smith came on and we could actually get the matchups evened out again.
  17. a 5 goal better side without an injured Petty, who knew? clearly not our coaching staff for 2 quarters.
  18. [censored] off Goodwin and all the staff that thought playing Petty for an extra 30minutes longer than needed. This is a [censored] joke, Goodwin has literally stated he plays hurt players and it's [censored] our season. Get that joke of a fitness coach out of the club.
  19. As a football club these last 4 years we have a history of playing players when injured. Goodwin has even spoken about this as well. The idea that the club made the best decision possible for the health of Oliver by letting him play a quarter after pulling it and by getting him running so soon after has no doubt hindered his recovery as much as getting an infection did. I don't care if the infection did a number on his recovery, that's bad luck. I don't care if he's arguing with a physio, that's passion. I don't care if he heals slower than the expected time frame, it is what it is. I do care that the club did something I've never seen other professional organisations across all codes do when a hamstring injury occurs. The club needs to answer that.
  20. Taj to do a Bowey and to lead us to #14
  21. What I want: Taj Woewodin for Harmes Jacob van Rooyen for Fritsch Matthew Jefferson for Smith Bailey Laurie for Chandler James Jordon for Melksham What I know will happen post listening to Goodwin's presser: No change, maybe Melksham is in for Fritsch and Jordon as a sub.
  22. How the [censored] is Harmes, Chandler, and ANB getting games... Don't remember the last goal either 3 kicked. It wouldn't be an unpopular position to put pressure on the coaching staff to fix this [censored] absurd field and goal-kicking or get sacked. I ask anyone who thinks that's an overreaction to actually think about what's happening. A team with a core group between 25-27 won a flag two years and now it's going to be 2 years of wasted potential because there is no pressure to fix such obvious floors. Never met a team built more for contested footy suck so bad at wet weather footy.
  23. 6. Rivers 5. Viney 4. Salem 3. Petracca 2. Lever 1. McVee
  24. Thoughts on Trent Rivers? Feels like he's grown into a senior head this year and his game has gone up levels. I always felt in the premiership year he was such a brave and desperate defender and epitomized our hunger and desire that year. This year he's got that back but he's added damage to his game.
