  1. Really good clip on the couch last night showed Langdon and Brayshaw defensive positioning as wingers. Both in perfect sync ran behind the contest in our defensive 50 which is why it always looks we have spare behind or on the flank while their opponents like to hold their spot on the 50 to set up a press which is never really going to work when Brayshaw and Langdon are the easy outlets.
  2. Cam Mooney had us premiership favourites after 2018 and has always been bold on us saying we are the closest thing to Geelong he's seen in his eyes (meanwhile Richmond were actually putting together a Dynasty).
  3. Looking at the outs and the ins. Disposal and speed has drastically improved.
  4. Salem, Viney, Gawn, Oliver all playing well after getting new deals. Trac next please.
  5. I don't like North, and while i can feel sympathy for a team getting belted every week, i don't want that to change this week. Also, kind of silly to go from reading the tigers forum to norths. Talk about a contrast.
  6. Interesting, Melksham is the kind of player you want in your team when you think you got a soft kill. But i guess so is B. Brown
  7. I really do not like Harmes in this team. Liability disposal wise and we've gotten better once he left because now we don't have 1 too many inside mids.
  8. I think on Last Crack last night they showed how committed we were and that was personified with Hibberd sprinting 60 meters to go match up Dusty
  9. We've been playing the same way for a while, a few tweaks here and there yes but the only real differences over the last 3-4 seasons has been personnel. We've gotten in a lot of good recruits who have now played a full season or two together now (Lever, May, Langdon, Tomlinson). The defensive press has been a staple, we've conceded some humiliating goals because we never had the personnel or buy in to make it work. The midfield has gotten a lot better. In 2018 our contested ball was off the charts but we would still get killed on the outside (West Coast badly exposed us in the prelim). Trac and Oliver have been much better on the outside and we are getting much more sustained defensive pressure from all those guys to help our defenders. If you think back to the game against the cats we lost with a kick after the siren. That final quarter the cats and Hawkins got a run on and we couldn't do much to stop them. Oscar and Frost got slaughtered but the reality was our midfield and forwards had 0 pressure. Melksham, May, T. Mac, Hibberd, Jetta and Jones have actually got their bodies right. After the prelim year our whole team was basically injured. Melksham and T.Mac were so immobile, now they look much fitter. Their experience and leadership is still much needed, Gawn and Lever have been flying the flag for the last 2 seasons. Finally it's just a collective buy in. It really feels like this team doesn't have passengers or people trying to get an easy touch. Spargo should be more celebrated than Pickett last night despite having a handful of touches. The reason why was he lead the pressure front from minute 1 to the last minute. That tackle in our defensive 50 and the follow up on Houli really swung momentum.

  11. Yes King was a big demon man back in 2018 because all our "underlying" numbers were elite. Personally i don't care if media personalities are hesitant to jump on us, i would just like them to talk about us. Kind of [censored] some of the fox shows refused to talk about us because we were 'inconsistent'. We were very close to finals last year as well.
  12. 6. Salem 5. Petracca 4. Oliver 3. Viney 2. T. Mac 1. Spargo
  13. That tackles and Lever's first intercept mark which turned into a 50 metre settled us down when the tigers were well on top. Don't care if Charlie isn't scoring if he's bringing that fight. Lock him in for next week.
  14. Spot on, I think having Lever and May as two main stays while also having the influence of Nev and Hibberd is really taking Rivers to the next level. That's 4 former AA's to learn from and Rivers is playing nothing like a teenager should, so selfless and brave. Let's hope all 3 plays 200 games for the Dee's
  15. https://imgur.com/a/Hg0Bge2 Star. That plays starts the chain to take us 5 goals up.
  16. Charlie, Viney, Rivers and Oliver all [censored] stirring in that scrap was great to see.
  17. What a team performance. Trent River diving spoil followed up by winning 1 on 2 vs Reiwoldt and Lynch got me up and about. Loved the scrap at the end as well.
  18. Brown has been a great recruit for Casey
  19. One of the key things on re-watch of the Hawks game was how many times Salem receives an absolute hospital handpass/kick but he still sits there fully prepared to get crunched, and yet still disposes of the ball to the next player to start the chain. He makes messy situations look good and he is a hard player which you might not think at first glance.
  20. OUT Petty - good 2nd half after an atrocious 1st M. Brown - Unlucky, tried but didn't influence the game til the last quarter Sparrow - Melksham drops to the sub IN May for Petty Fritsch for M. Brown Weid for Melksham B. Brown unlucky miss.
  21. Last half papered over the cracks of a shacky first half if i'm being honest. Clearances a problem all afternoon till the last quarter. Forward connection a problem all afternoon till the last quarter. BUT Who cares 5-0 BABY.
  22. Need to tidy up, start consistently winning clearances and a consistent level of pressure
  23. Smith done for day and a few weeks minimum
  24. Good to see Nev love How do people rate the following performances? Ben Brown Weideman Lockhart
