How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
Tim Lamb, Simon Goodwin and Maxy Gawn would be feeling pretty good about themselves after seeing todays performance from B.Grundy. Clearing $1m a year off the books for the next 3 years. Breathing a massive sigh of relief, he just doesn't do enough around the ground, no marking prowess, no presence about him in contest and doesn't kick goals all for $1m a year. Today clarified there reasons for clearing him off the books. Swans have a massive problem on their hands.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
Went for a cheaper assistant in Tyson Goldsack, that's why he wasn't renewed. Very well worded statement to save the club face.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
He actually stepped aside after the season.

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
Has been a head of coaching development at Norwood for the year. Was an excellent cricketer in his day also, just happened to belt him for the hugest 6 over mid on during our cricketing days. 😂 Thought I'd massage that into this convo.😂 Won a 3-peat with Norwood from 2012-14 expected him to go for a job in his own right in the AFL. Under utilized big time at Port, stepped aside for the greater good. A hard working fella who will with fresh eyes and perspective do good things with our forward line. At least we have been proactive this off season. Hopefully Mcqualter gets the gig at Wet Coke, never liked him as our mids coach.

How the Swans and Lions built their 2024 GF Lists
With the current academy system in place the Bears and Bloods will never bottom out for a period of more that 2 years. It's beyond a farce now. They basically know who they are selecting watching them train and play under their tutelage before they are even selected. All the guess work is taken out of it pretty much. So they will never miss with a NGA selection because of how they closely monitor their talent.

Wade Derksen
At least he'll come to the club as hungry as Dirk Diggler was to conquer the adult film world.

2024 Brownlow Medal
Coz the rest of his teammates are incredibly overrated. This is an absolute farce.

2024 Brownlow Medal
That's an indictment on the rest of the Carlton squad to let 1 player get nearly half of the teams votes.

What a speech by Gussy! 👏👏👏👏👏

2024 Brownlow Medal
Do they have a Cripps one also?

2024 Brownlow Medal
Clarry would have had 3 by now if he was playing in a team where no one was stealing votes off of him.

The Melbourne - Norwood connection
Absolute heartache for those of the red and blue persuasion Glenelg's Liam Mcbean's 7.0 goals the absolute difference nailing them from everywhere. Best quality SANFL GF I've seen since the 90's, the pressure and tackling was ferocious. There will no doubt be some saw bodies getting out of bed tommorow morning.

How Chris Scott differs from other AFL coaches
Non of those players mentioned are structural players all are replaced without much fuss. I'd like to see them go 2 years without access to their best tall forward Joe Daniher periods of a season without Harris Andrews, Jackson Payne, The big O or maybe Lachie Neale and a couple other midfielders. They've had a good run with injuries and it helps having all the help with the NGA selections gifted packed from the AFL.

The AFL Academies- Lions, Suns, Giants, Swans
It's a complete rort of the system the way these clubs have built their respective lists. We had to wait for our turn from 2007 onwards to build our list the old fashioned hard way without all the piggy back access to free agent American sport type shenanigans. Geelong are the pioneers in this space, Steve Hocking was the brain child of all this. Creating a path of free agency to benefit the club he left to take up the Manager of Football at the AFL. Whilst in AFL HQ for 4 "influential" years he managed to buttered up officials and had significant influence on this current model to attract the catchment of Ex Geelong junior talent to come back "home". Players picking where they go when they are still have 3 or 4 years to go on there contracts and the clubs get f all in return. Now with the set up of these club acadamies brought in purely to keep them at the pointy end and keep those crowds coming back in those fickle Qld and NSW markets $$$. Established clubs such as the Swans and Lions should not have had the sustained access that non established clubs the Suns and Giants have had over their existence. In saying that the Suns and Giants have been given overs on numerous occasions to build the strongest squads going around. So much so the Suns have taken our previous zone in the NT to further strengthen their already buldging player stocks. It's beyond a joke now, it's pure greed by the AFL and letting the smaller clubs suffer in their boots.

Brisbane 2024 Round 1 Pick
Daniel who? Surely not Caleb Daniel from WB. I will cancel the membership if this is correct weight. #FML

NON-MFC: Preliminary Finals
If we go with what we have had in the forward line for the past 2 years with the salary cap space available, then we are seriously f'n deluded.
-
NON-MFC: Preliminary Finals
Our Forward system is miles off this well oiled Geelong system.

Training Ground?
Jee that's no good. Local residents left out of the consultation process by the MFC.

For those who underrate our 2021 premiership…
All the finals were played on neutral venues, 22 round season, if anything it was the most even a competition could be. 2020 was the outlier, 17 games, shorter 18 minute qtrs, games every 4 days it was a mess. That was the asterics year. The end of that 3rd quarter was mind blowing football. You'll never see a minute of football like that again. I was one of the lucky ones that saw greatness in the flesh.
