He is turning 32 in a few months, even a 2 year contract is a stretch.

No pruess and no tmac, we better have another tall ready to go in our back pockets. Wouldn't be against flipping tmac and may forward and back respectively whee games need it to get the best out of the talent we have

l don't buy that Jack was played too early and it hampered his development line. Luke Jackson competes fine in his 1st year and played earlier than watts. Jack just didn't have the work ethic, grit and competitiveness but he did have amazing talent. Jack will continue to drift through life in my opinion, hopefully staying happy and safe

All we need now is for Cam Bruce to join (from the blues after spending time with the hawks) to complement Yze and Green and we'll have an awesome forward line that can kick a sausage from almost anywhere
-
Things may change over time, but when I spoke to him a couple of days after being drafted, he indicated that he'd spent plenty of time in Melbourne before and was pleased to be coming over. Said he had travelled many times with elite junior squads in more than 1 sport. Also mentioned the fit with MFC needing a flexible tall was attractive

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Demons1858 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good point trout, they should both be on the hook -
With the soft cap, teams with stronger coaching teams like the hawks will need to move staff on (i.e Yze) ... I would be watching clubs like Geel, Hawt, Rich to see if any of these can be an upgrade on our assistant coaches and pass on their IP

With Viney now signing, we have locked away all our key players for the future until next season... well done to the club ... having said that I would like to keep Hibberd, Jones, Spargo, Hunt, Brown and Hore on one year deals unless we get some trade value for them

SOT will hopefully produce SOJ

Crows Attempting to Poach Darren Burgess
Demons1858 replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
he had alot of luck, as all ops were done early leading into his pre season, as opposed to the prior season where we carried over injuries due to our bid to win the granny. having said that, he appear to be doing well and oversaw minimal reinjuries which is a big tick -
l still remember the uproar from supporters on this forum when he was getting traded
-
perhaps throw in Colin Sylvia

are you kidding, hit a parked car and left the scene

One of the things that struck me about him was that he always looked angry after losing a match - these days coaches hold back and seem to be consoling everyone. Despite his obvious care for the players it was clear they were there to win at all costs and the players followed. Players of lesser talent like Dean Chiron (who would have been lucky to get a game in any other VFL side back then) were regulars. His teams were always said to be playing above themselves, which is the greatest complement a coach can get

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Goodwin publicly backed him a week or two ago as a longer term project -
Mad on Monday? l was already mad on Sunday

with our teams rare run with injury this season we should be pushing top 6 if we are going anywhere with this list. Jack was also skipper 2018 when we played finals and led from the front playing injured and got us across line. not that max has done anything wrong but has added nothing. we lost the crucial matches again this year that required leadership eg swans freo. unnecessary tinkering and gws made a mistake which many in the media have questioned. they lost to the dees so that's that. they probably win with their skipper.

2020 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
Demons1858 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
History shows there is a significant drop in average games played after pick 8, so a small shift in picks either way i(n that range) isn't a big deal -
Wound be a step back for the club to lose a player with his physicality and metal strength. Attributes we need the side to build to be a top4 performer. Would also be gutted to lose another former captain in less than ideal circumstances That its got to this stage of the year has me very worried. Making max captain has added nothing

He's a gun on field e.g. Rance wss no push over. Would love to have him back for the good of both parties. Can't see him leaving however
