  1. Positive is that not many clubs can afford $1 mill a year in their salary. caps and the ones that can are potentially further from success than us https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/salary-cap-score-the-afl-clubs-that-do-and-don-t-have-room-20210327-p57em2.html
  2. Good points. We also got saints at a good time as they: returned from nsw, had 1 less rest day, played in tiring wet conditions, and have a few injuries at the minute
  3. Hibberd is an elite half back when fit and needs to come in. Rivers will need to make way. Some of his kicking recently hasn't been great
  4. Not saying he didn't have a good round 1 but are we really counting last year?
  5. 10 is a lot of tickets, not surprised it was an issue due to social distancing
  6. Our supporter demographic might be a touch older which might not help if you are worried about your health. Still a disappointing crowd no matter
  7. Anyone know if the club has worked out the reciprocal game for the NT home game? Sorry if it has been posted somewhere already. Would have to be one of the Hawt or Esse games at the MCG I suspect.
  8. l wouldn't mind if we knew it was just his leg
  9. l get tired listening to choco not sure why ... perhaps it's his intensity
  10. you miss the point, players still go back on the field because they mostly don't want to let the team down by leaving them 1 short ... they fudge the initial benchmark tests deliberately as admitted by McCartin just last year
  11. can't trust coaches when it comes to laws of the game and gill just wants to mitigate potential future payouts for negligence related to cte ... supporters are the last consideration on this one just managing our expectations
  12. l got tixs today in mcc after 5pm for 2 junior mfc members and l as a provisional new mcc member. have also got a mcc/mfc membership. my learning today is that the booking system works very well but could do with some better explanations and more detailed scenario based how to videos ... next booking will be a breeze for us all now that we have got the hang of it ... ps mfc membership staff are great and super knowledgeable but need more hands on deck to help in key moments ... 30 min plus wait time is common at the moment
  13. Thanks Grimes. I rang the MFC membership department this morning also (40 min wait each time I have rung this week for an answer) and they said similar i.e. that you need to wait for the MFC membership window to open and it will depend on availability of MCC spots which could be an issue for some games ... I have an MFC/MCC Exclusive membership but that doesn't have general admission so the other alternative is to wait for tickets to go to the public and bundle 1 adult ticket with the 2 MFC junior memberships
  14. Have a similar issue trying to combine my new provisional MCC membership with my 2 kids junior memberships so we can sit in either the MCC or the general admission ... some how the melb vs freo game is classed a 2 by the MCC which means no visitors ... can I use my MCC membership to book in general admission with 2 junior MFC members?
  15. Best big name outside the AFL system by far ...
  16. At one stage we were interested in him and then we weren't ... suggests to me we realised we weren't getting him or that he wanted too much $$$ to fit in our cap ... if tmac had gone I suspect it may have been different
  17. Clearly the club is banking on revenue being generated out of a new footy base including naming rights sponsor, social events, and better training facilities driving better results on field ... think people are being too hard on Glen ... they seem to have done well off the field given COVID issues and don't blame him for looking tired the other night ... the club is closer than ever to getting their footy base approved with the now strong involvement of the government ... if he pulls it off he has ticked a massive box for the mfc that secures the club for the future when many others have failed. Getting it approved is the equivalent of an off field premiership win
  18. Yes but can he defend ...
  19. With a free splash of Juggernaut 16 by Jonathon Brown he will be untouchable
  20. Do you recall where the remainder of the $11mil Leighoak sale went of approx $4.4mil (i.e. $11mill minus 6.6mill)?
  21. ox_5, seeing as you appear across this, where did he proceeds of the sale of leighoak go? It was sold for $11mill
  22. Fair enough ... I think I'm more annoyed they claim to be paying off debt while making a loss without mentioning they had sold down assets to be able to do that
  23. Don't like the fact that the Leighoak sale isn't mentioned in any of the financial updates, a bit deceiving and trust takes a bit of a hit as a result. They also liquidated their assets ... more information please!
  24. Good to see we get our 2 blockbusters as home games in 2021 given covid ruined the 2020 plans $$$
  25. Perhaps even Ben Hilfenhaus
