dropping him will harm us, should have moved forward and rotated through the midfield
-
how do you end up late when all you need to do is follow your mates out the door ... seems odd this one ... makes you think there is more to it ... leadership group would have probably voted on it with coaching staff
-
agree we should wait for market value to pick up and for our finances to be back to pre covid or close plus have the plans for the new training facility back on track - then look at selling off any other assets
-
they way the article is written and other prior messages from Bartlett and Pert seems to imply they have reduced debt themselves - not sure that is accurate - l can sell my car and reduce debt but have l really moved the needle on our financial position and should l take credit for that? lm not an accountant but feels like we are being mislead a little
-
then is the narrative from the board and ceo misleading or at best not being transparent?

Tom Lynch Incident (incl. Dimma vs The Ox)
Demons1858 replied to buck_nekkid's topic in Melbourne Demons
esse acted like thugs that day, but being at the ground, it was clear that it was schwarz opportunity to fly the flag for some of the young blokes but he didn't and the physical response from the senior players was meek. its a gf and if big blokes are repeatedly beating up on you you need your big blokes to respond with force -
jeff farmer also seemed to have more off field issues when he returned. sometimes its better for the player to stay away from their home environment it seems. hard to be too critical though given all the stuff he was had to deal with. shows mfc probably managed him well when he was here. supreme talent and was a star ... hopefully he can get back to there ... can't see him out of the freo side for too long though

great to see we are continuing to support the club with membership, sponsors are hanging tough, we have made 1 mill in donations, and renegotiations have saved money. am confused a little about our financial position however. any accountants out there that can clarify? didn't most or all the debt get cleared because we simply sold down our assets and longer term doesnt that affect our ability to generate revenue from those proceeds?

Fantastic pod cast

We keep teams scoring down using team defence with no passengers. See where l am going with this ?

the old oscar came out towards the end ... was in slow mo ... maybe a rest will help ... good post
-
exactly. to me our game plan looks the same as last year ... output is also similar .. high inside 50 contested ball stats poor conversion

We have given away to much in those trades re picks no doubt. Not so fussed about. the money side of it. Everyone wants a quality forward but they aren't on the market often. Lynch was always going to richmond. Hogan had to go back after what he had been through. We had a crack at Elliot as did others but he is no silver bullet anyway

salem might be. lucky to keep his spot. Nev needs to come back unless there is a reason not to. Brown will be back

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Thanks mate, just took a look. That's a step forward of sorts but from what you can see it was bruise free even in the context of match simulation. -

Demons1858 replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
Waiting for Bennell to successfully complete practice matches/simulation work now that training can be up to 20. Until then he is still a high risk of re-injury and hasn't progresses any further than when he was a Freo trying to get back -
You are right no one has said they don't have sympathy but equally no one has said they do. To suggest we need to know the victims name and other details to do so makes no sense at all. I expressed sympathy earlier quite easily. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/susie-obrien/susie-obrien-dean-laidleys-alleged-victim-also-needs-support/news-story/4dc3c70a264f1e63ee54506dc9f69ab5
-
The point l am making is that this tread is totally unbalanced. Perhaps count the number of posts that talk about the main victims? None or very few at best. l will reserve most of my sympathy for them. To have an avo out means the issue has been ongoing
-
Let's not forget he is accused of stalking and breaking an avo (so forgetting his dress sense which while unusual isn't the first person to do so) there are other more significant victims

Which MFC players do you leave out of the hub
Demons1858 replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is a chance some players will withdraw of their own accord if they have young kids, expecting kids or family to care for. -

Agree there is not much to lose and plenty to gain in PR remembering he was a star in to hell and back -

Not expensive at all, he is on minimum wage. I don't expect him to last once the lists are culled. -
I don't wavy to be telling people AFLX was our last premiership for too much longer
