  1. Training or motivation was never an issue with Jessie while a MFC. He was always super fit despite what might have been going on behind the scenes and with the his and his dads health. He has had two significant foot injuries in recent times and the risk of getting another would be high I suspect. Probably gets easily frustrated with being in rehab and lets things get to him and does some silly but mostly harmless things
  2. I feel like we don't have the complete story on his reoccurring ankle injury as he has been super competitive for us prior to that when playing in defence and in attack. Looks to have lost confidence in his movements as much as anything. Is a favourite player of mine and hope if he stays his body gives him the chance to get to his best again
  3. Both good signing. Not every player we sign can be star. We have what is called a salary cap. I'm sure they aren't costing us a heap of coin. Spargo still has some potential to have a break out year and has good attributes. While Hore was playing regular footy and doing ok before his run of injuries - a handy backup with O&Tmac looking to move on.
  4. At 200 cm I imagine doing sudden u-turns isn't his forte
  5. They are apparently well progressed with getting Jessie Hogan and I suspect Jessie would prefer the anonymity afford to AFL players in NSW. Collingwood would probably be a better fit for tmac now that all other forwards appear to be off the table
  6. COVID this year suited the ageing cats line up with a shortened season and shortened quarters. Things could be different next season and adding another pensioner to their list is a surprise
  7. That younger player will likely come in the form of a speculative pick 60 plus in a draft that is said to be of lesser quality and they typically won't bother the scorers. I'm not big on 3 years and would like him for 2. Would take 2 with some decent triggers for a 3rd year
  8. Maybe a moves into the commercial or marketing side of the business to round out his CV as that area was seen as a gap when the applied for Pert's job.
  9. All repeat concussion suffers have periods were they recover in between episodes. Just because KK was symptom free when he played mean nothing to me. It's not like he played even half a season, he has played 2 AFL intensity games in 2 years and will likely retire symptom free. It's a no brainer that If you have a history of repeat concussion (or injury for that matter) that you are more susceptible to a recurrence and MFC misjudged his chances of being able to handle the bumps and bruises and he is now still on our list taking up valuable cap space through no fault of his own for that matter.
  10. Disagree with you again ... “We are confident his concussion issues are over ... " Mahoney told SEN Breakfast. Seems like you're the one guessing
  11. You don't give a long term deal unless the medico's think there is a high likelihood of him playing, which they got completely wrong
  12. Totally disagree, we gave him a long term deal
  13. Yep, he did, but all players with concussion issues get a slight or hard knock and subsequently have further issues
  14. agree although the docs don't always get it right which is my concern ... KK for instance ... worth a go 100% though
  15. my only concern with brown is whether there is more to his knee injury, we would be lucky if he chooses us with a few clubs interested and potentially a rethink with a new norf coach. Weid is actually better as a lead up key but had played deep alot as he is often the only key banana and part of the plan is to get the ball in deep and lock it in
  16. Good news. Hopefully we didn't use the same medicos that checked out KK ?
  17. A few posters with a history of good intelligence have said the same thing in that he is disgruntled - so on the balances of probabilities l accept that he is. Hopefully its not at the point of leaving. I will be nervous about this one until the trade period is over. To me he comes across as a little immature and a touch over confident not always in a good way
  18. Still have some faith in Jessie, he's one solid preseason away from being elite again
  19. Would want both and Brown would be the priority
  20. My read is that there are possibly two things gong on with Oliver. 1 is that the b and f rewards consistency as every player gets votes for each game not just the top three and 2 he isn't following instructions from the coaching staff as much as they would like and is perhaps not as accountable to his opponent. Jack l think runs both ways better than any of the mids but is perhaps less dynamic but consistent. As you say, Max missed games which hits you more in the b and f due to the voting system mentioned. Oliver's kicking particularly early on was really poor
  21. If he holds up a key position in defence which he seemed more than capable of doing at the end, then it will be money well spent. We won't need to rely on below standard defenders like omac
  22. This is his last contact. You can bet he is not yet 100% sure for a while longer while there are still a few suitors that could draw improved offers. There is no need to declare his hand yet as draft hasn't even started yet.
  23. Hawks offering 2 years, l have my doubts about the validity of that. They only offer 1 year deals for 30 plus players. Makes me wonder whether its a dummy 2 year deal designed to extract better offers to the benefit of Smith and to help him get maximum contract money and trade value.
  24. you can't seriously be complaining about the order in which something is written ... time for you to go to bed after your glass of milk
