Every week, someone pots him, and to be honest, I am completely dumbfounded by it.

Pathetic thread. One fumble trying to take the game on after it is over. Most reasonable posters on here have been critical in the past, but can see he is serviceable at the very least this season. Surprised we didn't see a similar thread early in the game for Hogan when he coughed a goal up switching play, or Bernie's handball that led directly to a goal, or OMac's dropped mark early in the game.

After 6 minutes of the 3rd, it was 5 goals to 1, and a handy margin quickly turned into a small mountain to climb. As I said earlier, Adelaide were off and ripe for the picking, we just didn't grab the game by the scruff of it.
-
If that is all Dawesy brings the table, give me the Peddy bear any day of the week. I think there is nothing to lose blooding Weideman and/or Hulett for a handful of games now.
-
That was frustrating. The Crows were off and that was more than winnable. Sloppiness cost us big time. The number of handballs that were off just enough to put the receiver under the pump was very frustrating.
-
Same thing happened a few weeks ago when he I was amazed he only had something like 13 possessions. Combine those line breaking disposals with all of those defensive pressure acts, and he seems a lot more involved than his possessions suggest.
-
Hunt has been unreal. Defensive pressure to go with the attack. We have been desperate for speed. Matt Jones was very good. Midfield were great that quarter. Jeffy is so important. Hopefully we can keep it up. Adelaide won't be that poor for long.

Saints looking woeful so far against Gold Coast.

It's amazing the number of times I see people post about overlooking Tex, not just MFC supporters. I don't like it when people go back through drafts and pick the eyes out of it, but it frustrates me even more when people start including players we couldn't have even selected anyway.

Heard rumours of some more barneys between Rockliff and some of his teammates recently. I'm not sure if he was in the wrong, but these little spot fires seem to be all too common.
-
Riewoldt and Montagna fair enough, but Steven is still young, so can't really include him.
-
Tom Lynch is a fantastic player. Giving our old mate Chip an absolute bath at the moment.
-
Holy smokes. I went to bed at 3 quarter time, and I knew Adelaide were on top in general play, but 40 scoring shots to 17? What a drubbing.

I think he has been pretty good in his 3 games so far, two of which were very tough conditions in the wet. In saying that, I was hoping for a little more spring in his step so to speak. Let's see how he is tracking 3 or 4 games after the bye.
-
Disagree on the first point. If you can get it out to them then absolutely, but it just rarely happens in a bog like today. I would love to see what would happen if a club just rung the changes in the wet, and chose their best 22 wet trackers, even if it meant 8-10 changes. I know it sounds stupid, but the game is unrecognisable from what you would see on a dry day at the G, or under the roof at Etihad.

I posted as much in the three word analysis thread. It is akin to winning a test at the WACA with a four pronged pace attack, and then expecting that same attack to perform the next weekend on a dust bowl in India. It is a completely different game.
-
I didn't think he was that bad, apart from that horrendous dropped mark which resulted in a goal and ended any chance of staying in touch.
-
The difference between wet weather footy and dry weather footy is so stark, we really should have made a few changes. The likes of Stretch and OMac could have been left out for some more suitable wet weather players. Not a personal knock, just pointing out the fact that the game is fundamentally different in the wet.
-
Disappointing but it was a tough ask.

There have been a couple of games this year where I have said "if we win this, I will entertain finals". Those being the Doggies game and maybe even the Port/Hawthorn games recently. This weekend is another one of those, but the Swans are a very good side, at home, who are also on the rebound, so I think a win this weekend is unlikely.

Funnily enough, Frost's two best games have come against the Pies (and his brother no less). One as a forward and one as a defender. No doubting he is a defender though. His speed is crucial to our zone and I was pleasantly surprised by his contested marking yesterday as well.
-
Using his speed really well to apply pressure, create contests and lay tackles. I don't think he is a bad kick, more just seems to be going a hundred miles an hour when he does kick. If he can get that composure with his delivery, he will be a very good player.

Sam THE MAN Frost (defender extraordinaire)

Yep. Almost wrote another sentence saying I want to see it against a decent side. But decided to enjoy today first. -
Surprised Hunt only had 13 touches. He seemed to be involved a lot, particularly in the first half.

He was good today. In fact, most of our defenders were good. Lots of intercept marks.
