  1. I noted this on another post - people forget Goddard took a reasonable amount of time to get where he is. Charting Goddard's development - Jack is not far behind if behind at all. I still think too much emphasis is placed on draft order. Ok some picks are better than others, but remember the only thing players have proven when they are drafted is that they can play against other players their own age. Draft order is not always an absolute indicator of how they will play against seasoned veterans or under the spotlight of AFL pressure.
  2. For the sake of stability I want to see minimal changes. Martin is still probably underdone although I see him as a step up from Sellar. Barty comes in if fit and Green goes out if not fit.
  3. If he is injured, I would hope he will be shut down soon. Not worth the risk and it would be good to see who on the rookie list can play the Neeld game style.
  4. Not adding much value here but Neeld's style requires a certain style of player. Anyone not fitting that bill will be shopped or let go. I am not going to ientify individuals but expect a reaosnable change to the list between the end of this season and the start of 2012.
  5. I remember St Kilda fans saying similar things about Goddard in his infancy and he has turned out pretty well. People tend to forget he struggled early on without a settled position.
  6. Agree - as Al Davis said - 'Just win baby'. That should be our motto
  7. To whoever it concerns What is the entertainment at the B&F this year, because at the moment the night looks like a belter! Bad attempt at humour I know
  8. Is there anyone at Casey who will truely transform our fortunes. Maybe play the same 22 (except for injuries) and try and get the best out of them.
  9. No, but I did take it as an intent to get back to all supporters, something I would suggest would help address the current mood of the same people who have kept this club going.
  10. remember reading after Round 4 that McLardy stated his top priority was to understand why we were going backwards – paraphrasing. I may have missed something but have not heard back since.
  11. Sadly I don't think you would need to organise a boycott to stop people attending.
  12. Personally I would have not transformed the gameplan back to square 1. I would have kept the attcking focus and built the defence from there. Secondly I would have kept one experienced player as a co-captain. I just do not see how the Jack's are supposed to win at the moment, This is all hindsight when we are all experts, but then again as supporters, do we not deserve more than what we are currently getting.
  13. Wait until 12 when Caro is on 3aw to validate these comments if true. That said I would expect the board to be meeting. Something needs to change and I want to know where Neil Craig is at the moment. Surely he is advising Neeld to alter the gameplan because as currently constructed, it will likely have disastrous consequences for Mark.
  14. I am not for a minute going to suggest I understand what is going on down there, but I did deliberately watch from behind the goals this week as opposed to my normal position on the wing. What did surprise me form this position was how often we got confused on who was marking who and then players just seemed to make snap decisions instead of communicating, often converging on the same players and leaving one and sometimes two players free. Defensive breakdowns really will hurt us if continued.
  15. There is development required at multiple levels, lets hope it happens soon.
  16. Well I was not talking about how he did it, more that it was a no brainer.
  17. We are easy targets, one because we seem to wilt under pressure, two because we did pursue headlines over the summer.
  18. Good luck to Tom - never held his leaving against him. GWS are being lauded for how they are going about it and they are a pretty competitive unit. Now can they hold onto these players.
  19. This has happened because the decision has been made to transform our gameplan entirely (as well as introduce a lot of changes in other areas). I am not saying this was not needed and it may serve us in the long term but it is more pain in the short term. We need to be careful – too much change too quickly, is a tight-rope situation indeed.
  20. Agree with Mitch Clark call. I have seen leadership as a problem for a long while at Melbourne. As great as Garry Lyon and avid Neitz were, there was always limited leadership behind them IMHO. BTW you do not have to be in the leadership group to be a leader, I would expect all 22 selected to be capable of showing some level of leadership.
  21. This is an interesting topic of conversation. Neeld spoke big over the preseason and has built expectations that the players do not seem to be capable of delivering. The focus will turn to him if the club does not start winning very soon (at the moment the focus is still a lot on the players). I would hope he is working on a compromised game plan for this week because something is no right. Either the gameplan is too basic (potentially), the players do not have the right make up to deliver on it currently (potentially) or more likely a combination of both.
  22. Have not had time to follow him this year. Last year he impressed me with his insights that in many cases were ahead of the curve.
  23. Whatever happens will happen. From my perspective I just do not want to hear ‘ if we win this game we will drop in the draft order’. To be frank I do not care, I want to win now. Furthermore sometimes dropping the draft order is not a bad thing, I think we need more players who have had to work their guts out to make it to AFL, because they bring a hunger that some of our touted picks seem to be lacking.
