  1. This is looking like the clubhouse leader Werridee - somewhat the oracle. For me, I reckon this 22 with OMac replacing Smith.
  2. Hard to argue those four
  3. And towball Matthew Nicholls
  4. I'm surprised Lyon isn't in the AFL Hall of Fame. Great player, but Neita for me.
  5. This is like being asked to pick which of your children you love the best.
  6. You're not making them easy DL. Gees. Stinger for mine. Had a big man crush on him.
  7. I think a high quality KPF is our last gap atm, but I don’t think it’s Paddy. Hopefully for him he gets healthy, back to playing consistently, and to a high level.
  8. In one of your Hawaiian shirts?
  9. I was also at this game and remember two things vividly - Garry Lyons winning goal snap seemed to go about 600m into the air, and goes even higher as I recall it 30 yrs later, and everybody around me were still celebrating so hard that they weren’t watching Wrenstead run towards goals as I watched in horror. Thank Christ he missed.
  10. I can recommend the t-shirt to all (wearing the polo today). I smile like Jon when I wear mine...
  11. Why does this not surprise me??!
  12. I’m more [censored] off that the girls missed out on a prelim
  13. That last 8 minutes of footy was the best you’ll see this year. The pressure was fantastic, the setup behind the ball was first class. Locked it into the forward half, GWS couldn’t get the ball over the halfway line and into space. They crumbled trying to run the clock down against a desperate and quality opposition. Loved Lily’s celebration of the winner.
  14. This is probably our only trip to Perth this year. Make it count boys.

This would be a great thread of misery stories. My clubhouse leader would be QB (2014?) where we kicked 3 goals for the day and the first one (N Jones) was in the first 45 secs of the game.
  16. Gees I hope we win on Sunday so I don't have to revisit this thread.

He should be knighted for turning up in 2012 and 2013.
  18. I was pretty happy when he nailed that goal early in the last qtr vs. Geelong in the 2018 finals. He’s done well over his time with those captains goals from around 50.
  19. Here's an idea - Why don't we cancel all the home and away games, derive a ladder from the pre-season results and the top 8 from the preseason play finals in September. MARSH COMMUNITY SERIES 2020 LADDER 1. GWS Giants (2-0, 188.5%) 2. Gold Coast Suns (2-0, 163.6%) 3. Melbourne (2-0, 154.6%) 4. Fremantle (2-0, 149.5%) 5. St Kilda (2-0, 121.8%) 6. Port Adelaide (2-0, 119.1%) 7. Essendon (2-0, 108.1%) 8. Collingwood (1-1, 125.9%) 9. Western Bulldogs (1-1, 122.4%) 10. Brisbane Lions (1-1, 114.6%) 11. North Melbourne (1-1, 81.7%) 12. West Coast Eagles (0-2, 94%) 13. Adelaide Crows (0-2, 77%) 14. Hawthorn (0-2, 72.4%) 15. Richmond (0-2, 72%) 16. Geelong Cats (0-2, 61.5%) 17. Carlton (0-2, 54.2%) 18. Sydney Swans (0-2, 50.2%)
  20. There will still be a stacked backline and nobody to kick the ball to going forward from D50. Not sure how that increases scoring.

Carlton in 6th is a bit of a surprise
  22. No they’re not. Sam is the son of Geoff (chook) McClure, who was a journo with the Age
  23. In the period from 1955 - 1960, we lost a sum total of 6 home games at the MCG. An average of 1 game a year. Consistency, depth and feared by our opponents. Id reckon the early 2000’s Brisbane three peat team was much the same. If I’m comparing us to them, I reckon we’re only missing the Jonathan Brown equivalent.

Interesting the commentary around a 3 year deal. Rewind to when it was announced - not too much dismay at that point:
  25. I believe......that was 3 minutes of my life I'll never get back
