Well we've got 10 or so rounds to focus on our game plan and build those valuable selfless habits, should naturally flow into the QB game without giving it much thought into special efforts. Shouldn't we be doing that every game? You team mate is physical and ruthless and you pat him on the back after every stoppage for that effort. The ship has sailed. The players from both clubs are all mates, hell our potential captain in waiting last year wanted to join them, even after their captain put him in hospital. I can understand our fans frustrations and anger and lust for blood, but I just don't see it in the players having a particular hunger for that with Collingwood, it will be a distraction if we make it one. I'm reiterating it, let's have the same physicality and ruthlessness against every club. Particularly in the FIRST QTR/HALF of every round, so we can demoralize our opponents and have them playing catchup/junktime for the rest. The rest will work itself out against any club, not just the Pies. The Lions are the real enemies this year. The plan to beat them is the one we should be putting a smidgen more tactical emphasis on in training, if anything.

How we play against Collingwood is only important in relation to the 8 points that make up how we finish on the ladder. Spend any more time than the 2 weeks of opposition analysis on them, then we will simply be beaten by other clubs instead. They're one of 16 other clubs we have to worry about. They didn't win the flag, they're not the team to beat.

The Nathan Buckley farewell game was embarassing in 2021 but so what?? , iIt doesn't have to be the Dees that inflicts the fatal wounds on them to end their season. We won the flag and lost to them in the same season. No shame in that. Would the Lions have won the flag if they ended up playing the red hot Hawks in the finals at the G last year with everything going right for them? Every bounce of the ball? The Lions have been the Hawks Tassie bunny's for a decade now. (Embarassing right?) One matchup could be all it takes to ruin your flag hopes. And avoiding that matchup can help you go all the way! Best not to think about the Pies too much. Let others sort them out. And if it comes to a final again. We'll be better prepared stylistically this year hopefully. The point I'm responding to was to gain the picks to offer West Coast for Harley Reid. They've already turned us down for our offer last year, now we're going to only have a future pick and what we get for Tracc if he wanted out, and wanted out to a big Vic club that won't have that much either. I'm not denying Tracc is worth plenty and will offer a lot. But I don't see a big haul for him that we can offer to WCE and satisfy them! Will Hawthorn give up a top 10 pick or two picks in the teens? Would Essendon give a top 10 pick? Depends how they go next year. It's Debatable. I can't see a very high pick AND a 2nd though ie no big haul Carlton and Coll don't have 1sts. Finishing that low next year and having a top 5 or 10 only accelerates the anxiety about getting in young kids for the future. Slim pickings
