  1. Cmon pick 13 you good thing. Carn the Giants!
  2. We might be pick 13 by the end of the night. Let's get that Deathriding Port Adelaide thread up and going!
  3. "I haven’t seen that many behinds since I visited a nude beach in Europe" Saw this comment and thought it was a lovely humourous break from the anguish!
  4. Maybe don't pop on Crunch Time this morning!
  5. Understandable mate. My only solace will be seeing the Lions win a prelim and grand final by 10 goals x2. At least then I might feel like we didn't actually squander anything, and that a club like them, who've been contending for half a decade, finally put together a finals similar to ours in 21 and were worthy winners, that nobody could've stopped.
  6. I can completely understand Fritsch turning to the crowd to pump them up and get them behind us. I feel like he and maybe Tracc are the only ones that understand the power behind it and harnessing the energy. But when it comes to turning back to our players, and engaging in gleeful hugs and smiles, like the job is done. I too felt that same 'awkwardness' - Don't want to pick on Kozzy as he's young, but he was smiling like his spiteful enemy had been vanquished for good after that Frisch goal and it made my stomach turn. You want to see a much more determined steeliness in regards to player interactions after goals. think back to the 21 GF and Tracc's reaction to his boundary worm burner goal. Just fierce determination to keep dominating them.
  7. Has the club? It's upsetting to admit it, but maybe we haven't. Maybe it shook us. Playing in front of a big MCG crowd baying for blood. We may have been too good for the has-been Tigers on Anzac Eve in 22', but the step up from that against another contender with a big supporter base. Maybe we haven't.
  8. I'm all for the Lions beating the Pies in a grand final though
  9. Stop sniffing your own farts layzie! Although it was a brilliant post!
  10. That's what I think too. We hear of a so-called "professional attitude" in regards to modern footy and player movement and exploring options, but this non-selection stinks of a personality clash and of a clouding of judgement over adequate team selection. Who's at fault, I dont know. But I think Goodwin deep down is a very passionate character whose opinion might've held a lot of sway over others, and - well personally I don't know Grundy well enough, but its totally plausible that he too through body language and management discussions, put himself completely on the outer after being told to work on his forward craft. Just thought both parties would be big enough to step up and make it work for two finals. But we're talking footy clubs, full of players and ex-players predominantly made up of 20-50 year olds - not exactly the most mature workplaces.
  11. Langdon in his first two seasons struck the perfect blend between hard-nut and athlete that runs lanes and puts his body on the line. The last two seasons however, it seems he's strayed too far in the direction of lane running athletics. Only there to fill a strategic purpose, not allowed much 'space' to play on instinct, and kept out of the action too much to gain any kind of confidence to impact a 'match' with high disposals and metres gained.
  12. To be melo-dramatic and unrealistic... We have a choice. Yze to Richmond or Melbourne?
  13. My question is: Which person is being unprofessional in regards to playing Grundy or not? Maybe im basing it on nothing, but I get a 'feeling' that Goodwin may pretend to be all about the: 'we're professionals, its where the game is heading' mindset, but deep down he is as tribal as Riccuito, and would let a personal grudge, cloud his judgement on team selection. We should've played Grundy this week at least. And last week too. I was wrong last week in regards to TMAC. But oh well, can't fault a person for trusting a premiership hero to give it one last shot.
  14. I was more upset about the Brayshaw concussion tbh - it really felt like that incident sewed the seeds for what was to come. This result was not surprising at all. We all 'felt it coming' - the media tide against us was some kind of forewarning that the comp would rather see us fail and suffer. Not to play the victim, as we OWN our own destiny, but the feeling of dread was there.
  15. "To the lads on tier four, I'm not Asian, I'm not black, I'm not a woman, I'm not gay. So don't treat me like s**t" Or the industry could give some other up and coming journalist a break, in his place.
  16. I can just see the AFL scheduling us for the night game at 7:30PM for "ratings", but Carlton for 3:20PM to help them get home and nicely tucked in.
  17. Yup! Imagine if some numpty bumped this thread (below) to post an interview article with Christian discussing his AFL journey of recovery from that ACL
  18. Me too. Just mocking the "need to beat a BIG4 club in a final" talk. We're only getting that opportunity now for the 2nd time, after many a year. It's quite obvious we need to win this week to dispense with the Spooked talk. No matter who is our opponent.
  19. 2024 5th v 8th Melbourne v Essendon; the grandest final for the ages 🤦‍♂️
  20. Going by the things Jeff Gleeson said, it sounded like a satire Rob Sitch and UTOPIA crew really should take on portraying the comical incompetent that is the AFL/MRO/Tribunal in a new series.
  21. The great thing about Grundy to Sydney, is that I noticed some of their fans last week saying they are happy (or OK) to do it for pick 11. They think he's the missing piece that they've not been able to get right for the last 5-10 years, which would've taken them all the way. And after academy it will be 15 or so and somewhere approaching his value. Paraphrasing: "Its overs but [censored] it just get it done, we can't go into next year with Ladhams" etc
  22. So how much interest do people have in footy after this shameful debacle? Ill admit I'd still like to watch all finals, so my love for the game isn't gone despite not watching since Thursday. I guess we're back to hate-watching the Pies to see if they squander their prelim again. And Either barracking for us or the Lions to make the GF. Coll v Carlton might be a no-watch, but having said that, there are players like Docherty, Weidering, Walsh that I don't mind. So id go for them. But by golly I'm done with radio, podcasts, tv shows and all that fluff. Feel a little more clear headed having avoided all that this week. (besides DL pod) What a bunch of mediocre minds. As for the regular season next year, only dees games I think. Ridiculous sport to allow such careless and dangerous actions and I won't condone it with my eyeballs
