  1. The point I'm responding to was to gain the picks to offer West Coast for Harley Reid. They've already turned us down for our offer last year, now we're going to only have a future pick and what we get for Tracc if he wanted out, and wanted out to a big Vic club that won't have that much either. I'm not denying Tracc is worth plenty and will offer a lot. But I don't see a big haul for him that we can offer to WCE and satisfy them! Will Hawthorn give up a top 10 pick or two picks in the teens? Would Essendon give a top 10 pick? Depends how they go next year. It's Debatable. I can't see a very high pick AND a 2nd though ie no big haul Carlton and Coll don't have 1sts. Finishing that low next year and having a top 5 or 10 only accelerates the anxiety about getting in young kids for the future. Slim pickings
  2. If we can win another flag, while clubs like the Dogs, Lions, Suns & Pies have raided the last 5 years highest ranked draftees... Then it will be a monumental effort and would probably supercede the drought breaking flag (Even leaving aside the venue topic) Everything has been and is against us. Probably a pretty uncontroversial opinion Go Dees!!
  3. We'll beat the Saints on grand final day at an empty mcg after bird flu has wiped out most of the animal kingdom
  4. The completed 2025 AFL death riding chart Crazy to see how much death riding goes on these days! Another 5-10 years and no club will have their own pick
  5. Which picks? We have no first, nor do Carlton. He'll be 30. Are the Pies going to give up any more than their first for him? Not if it's a top 10 pick. As for futures, I can't see the Eagles that pleased with those! I wouldn't be expecting much of a haul for Tracc
  6. I recall the ESPN footy pod pointing out the fallacy of many saying Warner was the only standout Swan in the 22 GF, by attributing most of his stats to junk time
  7. And the Richmond list had all packed it in by that stage. Mind you the Geelong game last year was fantastic, so we at least know we can swing him forward if the need arises in-game
  8. Maybe we only recruited him to stop Kosi instinctively attempting a speccy at every contest. ...Although it was more of a reaction to Melkshams ACL and the need to fill the role he'd carved out for himself pre injury.
  9. Troy Chaplin working on the forward line as we speak
  10. That was my thought with the "Who replaces ANBs role?" post too. Everyone! We need to get back to celebrating every chase down, every spoil, every tackle, every effort made to take space and restrict the opposition from slicing thru us. It's a healthy collective enjoying their footy that replaces an ANB! And that's where we need a big improvement. Ok we have to see some speed and fitness to be able to do that two way running as well, but skilled disposal and developing an offensive synergy will eventually lead to less requirement to get back and rely on the defence. Our D should only be a fall back safety net, not an overall primary strategy of restriction. That's the past. We're too old for that. Sydney showed last year in the GF that you can't rely on being a sponge that absorbs attacks and repells. Brisbane murdered them, and put them on the backfoot once the dam wall broke. Geelong did too.
  11. Whichever of our key position forwards is standing next to JVR next season. And If we want to win another flag in the next few seasons, we'll probably need JVR to become 2023 Jesse Hogan. He doesn't personally have the pressure on him to be that break out superstar.... Buuuuut we might need him to be that if the forward line does not develop a collective goal kicking synergy all on its own!
  12. If you've pencilled in that nickname for the rest of next season, maybe in the interest of fairness you can pencil in Clarry as the "[censored] Cat" or "The Fresh Start" too? (to be doubly annoying)
  13. Thankfully you corrected your mistakes and pumped out some more demon memberships
  14. Did you get your mum back on tracc?
  15. I'd only add Lever, JVR & Rivers and take offTrac & Fritta tbh
  16. Keith Bluey Truscott Awards plus AFLPA 22under22 Squad (JVR/Caleb/Judd) plus a Jason Taylor draft interview on gettable divided by taking the 3 best midfielders out of your team = season in review cliff notes
  17. We've got the biggest Johnson
  18. I missed what happened yesterday with North, but heard they offered their Future 1st to every club from Pick 8 onwards until Richmond swapped a pick in the 20's, and they grabbed Whitlock.... And north fans are all furious. Why did every club pass on it? Is next years draft really bad? Do clubs think North can bounce? So we were offered it and decided to take Xavier Lindsay over what will probably be a Pick between 1-5 next year? Big call imo. But 1 year development for a player who will probably be as good as anyone from 3-10+ onwards next year anyway, I can see why the club passed, and why every other club passed.
  19. I bet he's bench pressing Charlie Spargo as we speak
  20. I'm sure we'd be willing to accept pick 1 next year if he wants to go 'home' #toosoon
  21. Well I'm only half being serious. Jackson is obviously taller, but we had him in there immediately.alongside Gawn and JVR part time in his 2nd Maybe Langford will be tall, athletic and muscular enough after a pre season or two to offer us that part time ruck/elite follow up role and keep JVR forward. Then you've got 4 elite mids in there while Gawn rests 🤷‍♂️ Could be an interesting point of difference for a few centre bounces or around the ground stoppages
  22. Leadership material? He looks about 30 already, throw him in the leadership group
