WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
I take this year for KK with a grain of salt and compare it to Brayshaw 2016-17. He was coming from a long, long way back with his concussion issues. Hopefully a preseason, some good advice, technique change and some confidence will see him back to his best - like Gus 2018.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
In my heart of hearts I never really got too attached to Jesse, hence his departure has left me feeling a bit... meh. I took the Scully departure very, very hard and the sight of his malnourished face still makes me clench my fists, but with Jesse, this always felt somewhat inevitable. I feel sorry for the kids with the number one on their guernseys, who are probably experiencing their first taste of the tragedy of a beloved player departing the club, but it's great to see May and KK already making statements about their excitement to be joining the team. I don't wish him ill (Scully, Howe, Frawley), but then again, I also don't wish him all the best (Trengove, Watts, Tyson). He's just another player in purple now.

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
I donโt see the need to play 3 genuine talks. TMac and Weid along with a range of mediums and smalls is more than enough. In fact, itโs the structure we successfully employed after the Sydney match and kicked a winning score against West Coast, GWS, Geelong and Hawthorn.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Maybe have our eyes on a DFA..?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Disappointed to see Jesse go but May and KK (who I rate very highly) to the club is excellent. Id be interested in a last minute trade for 23 if someone became available...

Thanks Cameron Pedersen
There would be few players that have had a s big a turn around in fan opinion than Cam Pedersen. His first match was a shocker and he spent his first two years on our list with people counting the days until his contact was up. He retires a much liked and admired player for his contribution during the rebuild.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
What todayโs contract โrevelationโ tells me is that Hogan is happy to stay at the Dees and in Melbourne, but has put to Freo that if they were to make him an obscenely good, too good to refuse offer, then heโd go.

I get the feeling that this is 100% certain to go through, but will be close to the end id trade week as theyโd wanna know the Hogan/ May situation before committing a pick to KK. Sounds like the club wants to package May and KK together. If the May trade falls through, trade a pick for him. Very excited about seeing him in the red and blue in 2019 - he is silk.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Gary Lyon and Paul Roos both said this during the finals when Weideman was on fire.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
That was pure class by Tubby.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
When the midfield is flogged, every full back in the league looks poor. Rance v Cox in the PF, or perhaps more tellingly May vs Riewoldt in Round 21 10 goals 6 behinds. No full back, not even the now legendary Steven May, can hold off a genuinely good FF when their midfield is brining the ball in with ease.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Is this really fair though?? Are there any players on our list that we demand a commitment from โbeyond his current contractโ? Isn't that what contracts are for? Are there any other players coming out of contract next year that weโre making similar demands of??

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
We got the player we wanted.

Or leaves you with absolutely nothing. (See Fremantle forward line 2019)

The way Mahoney talked about this trade, it seemed to certainly be linked to a hypothetical Hoan trade. Now that that has fallen through (and hopefully we wonโt be returning their calls) I think this trade should go through fairly quickly. Both teams seems to be dealing on good terms.

Farewell Dom Tyson
Always a big fan of Dom. Was a shining light when we were down and out and offered us hope Iโm Roosโ early days. Was often amongst our better players when the heat was on, but as other have said, sadly our midfield depth has seen him lose his spot.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
They also lose a pick one when they could have had both. Their attitude is bizarre- โA bird in the hand...โ

Farewell Jesse Hogan
This has been on the cards since the start of trade week. If the Neale pick and 11 is the deal, then thatโs more or less what I expected. If they stick to just the one pick- stuff them.

With โJesse Hogan staysโ graphic...

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Has the talent to be the best player in the league. But does't want to be.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Jack Riewoldt kicked 10 goals 6 behinds against a Gold Coast defense led by Stephen May in round 21 this year. Riewoldt kicked 2 goals 2 behinds against Melbourne when lining up on Oscar in the ANZAC eve match.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Ideally Fremantle will [censored] Hogan around through trade week and make and unmake their minds about a trade or offer huge unders for him. Hopefully this puts Hogan off-side with that shoddy organisation and he clears his mind of ridiculous thoughts of leaving.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
There's some options there still. They've used 1st round picks in last years draft, so that frees up next year. They'll surely trade Neale after him being so public about wanting to leave. There's a possibility of trading an early first rounder into two mid-first rounders.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Lobb is such a 'nothing' footballer. Not a key forward... Not a first ruck... Just... meh.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I think something's gotta give. The club obviously sees the need to add a big bodied defender to the line-up if we're looking to hand over a first round pick for May. McDonald, Weideman and Hogan (with possibly a resting ruckman) is a very, very tall forward line. In regards to a pure, goal kicking forward - I'd take McDonald over Hogan. Coleman medalists very rarely win you a flag - be done 4 times since 1990. Jesse has the capability to be McGovern-like down back and, IMHO, is worth a look.
