GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs St Kilda
So... Oscar’s fault..?

Viney & Intermittent Fasting
Wife I have been doing this for a few months now. First two days are hard, everyday after that is easy. Whilst we’re certainly not professional athletes, I’ve only felt benefits so far with no noticeable lack of energy.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Surprised he’s not more popular on here. His vision in traffic and passing is sublime. He always looks for a teammate in a better position and gives away a lot of goals that most small forwards would kick themselves. Such a good prospect for the future.

Round 5 Non MFC games
Port Adelaide are mauling the eagles. Stronger, faster and running much harder.

Should they be called out???
It’s like he’s speaking a different dialect of English...

Round 5 Non MFC games
Brisbane play a great brand of football to watch.

Sam Weideman + contract
Did this report originate from a reliable source or is it just being bounced around in the AFL media/social media echo-chamber?

THE DISNEYFICATION OF THE AFL
Why I always enjoy ABC radio’a commentary- they let the game speak for itself and if it’s a bad game, they say it’s a bad game. The commercial stations will outright lie in their commentary to keep you from turning off.

Lack of marking.
I would suggest it’s a matter of gameplan. Some teams seek to control the play and tempo with a lot of short passes. As we’re (usually) so good with the contested ball, we seek to keep the ball moving forward as quickly as possible.

Round 4 Non MFC games
By what measurement is Darcy Moore an ‘elite defender’???

The Wagners
Josh will have to do a lot to win me over after the last couple of years... seems more of an athlete than a footballer. Very happy for him to prove me wrong. I see a bit more potential in Corey. He’s a bit ungainly at times, but he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time and things tend to ‘happen’ when he gets involved. Corey is a step down from Hannan, who I rate very highly. There’s a spot for him in the team TIL hannan is back- hopefully he can make the most of it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Sydney
If it cheers anyone up, Buddy’s personal record against us is very poor considering he’s played for two of the best teams of the past ten years whilst we have been one of the worst. He’s never kicked more than 5 goals against us. (Equal second least) Hes kicked less goals against us than all but one other team (not including expansion teams and Hawthorn) In fact, he’s kicked more goals against Sydney than he has against the MFC. In Frost and OMac we trust.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
I believe I have realistic expectations Preuss in his first match for the club. I'm hoping he can play a role and reduce the burden on both our KPFs and, of course, on Gawn. What I'm really hoping for , however, is for him to apply some physical pressure and fear in the opposition defenders. Not since David Neitz have we had a power forward that has made opposition defenders think twice about standing under a high ball. The way Preuss has shown he can attach the ball in the air will hopefully make for a pretty stressful night for Sydney's talls.

PREGAME: Rd 04 vs Sydney
Dees by 24 point. We’ll come out strong and keep them at arms length for the entire night.

What to do with Nathan Jones
I tend to agree. The young players stats are looking good, but the two way running and pressuring of the ball carrier who is delivering into our defensive 50 in completely non-existant. Good teams don't leave their defenders one-out against their opponent, or as we've seen often in the first three rounds, outnumbered in our defensive 50.

Big O Oscar, the one we let slip
I was being facetious, but in actual fact, we had four draft picks before Lynch went. We used all four picks on Tasmanians but not on Hobart's very own Alistair Lynch. So he would have been pretty close to our nose.
-
Big O Oscar, the one we let slip
We also missed out on drafting Alistair Lynch who slipped to pick 50 in 1986!

Dees honesty session.
I agree- dropping KK is premature. Early he looked off the pace and rushed a few kicks when he had time. He’s played very little footy at all for the last couple of years and needs to clock up some minutes in the seniors to get his judgement tuned in.

What is wrong with Michael Hibberd?
He’s escaped almost all scrutiny but I would say he’s one of the worst performers in the team when you consider what he’s capable of doing. He’s being exploited one-on-one and cannot compete in the air. His confidence looks shot and his kicking, which used to be a weapon, is a liability at the moment. The reality is, in the absence of Lewis, he should be one of the leaders holding our backline together.; but on current form, he’s a long, long way off.

ROUND 4 2006 - Melbourne v Sydney at the SCG
Remember that well. Rubbish call.

Round 3 Non MFC games
Very happy for the lions. They’ve had a horrid run and are now playing a great brand of footy with some very exciting players. Clear example of how getting the right people in the football department trumps draft picks.

Round 3 Non MFC games
Is there a club that hasn't had great talent leave? Hawks, Swans, Cats, Collingwood, Richmond... successful, powerful, well-run clubs have all had great players walk. It's a fact of life.

Round 3 Non MFC games
He didn't want to be at the MFC anymore. My understanding was: - We offered Howe a contract, which he declined - We then arranged a trade with Gold Coast (Pick 7 I believe) and some very big money for Howe. - Howe agreed to Gold Coast trade (in principle). - Collingwood then came in and offered him less money than Melbourne and Gold Coast, with a wing-half forward role out to him by Buckley whilst in holidays in Bali - Howe accepted that. Howe had wanted out of the club for a long time, but was held by his contract. He honoured the contract but nothing would have kept him here.
