Farewell Jesse Hogan
Lever was given a backline coaching/mentoring role. He was there in an official capacity.

2019 best 22 and depth chart
I see Lewis as shadowing Bernie’s 2017-18. Lewis put together some good matches this year, but the pace in the legs has left him and the mind isn’t too far behind. Next season I see him, like Bernie this year, starting in the 1s, then moved out by the end of the season. By the looks of things, Jones may be in the same boat one year later.

From MFC discard to MFC owner in the space of 10 years.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
I simply cannot get my head around this one. I thought, in the limited times I've seen him play, that he has a lot of potential as a full time ruckman. This makes me wonder why he's not being hotly pursued by many clubs, why Nth is letting him slip away with Goldy in his twilight years, and why a ruck, who could be playing consistent AFL games next year, would come to a club where he is guaranteed to be second fiddle to the best ruck in the league... The only answer I can come up with is that I, and many other fans, have significantly overestimated his ability and potential output.- Bernie Vince Retires
Interesting case Bernie. Didnt want to be traded, and definitely didn’t want to come to us, but as soon as he walked through our doors he embraced the club and played with genuine passion. His career was fading away in adelaide - to the extent that he was told they were going to cut him at the end of the next season if he didn’t leave. He then found a new level of intensity and consistency with us that he’d never had to that point. He and Daniel Cross were godsends in 2014.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
I think Gawn referred to him as his favoured opposition player during the preseason... after he dumped TMac in AFLX: “My favourite opposition player against my least favourite teammate...”- Bernie Vince Retires
Can hopefully now enjoy a few beers in the crowd as we go deep into the finals.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
It’s all getting a little bit silly now. The only reason the club would ever trade Hogan would be if we were offered something simply too good to pass up in return. Some arguments suggesting we trade home because he’s overrated or replaceable are fanciful. He would walk into the forward six of every team in the league- and they’d be very, very happy to have him. There was a similar thread in the first third of the year suggesting to trade Brayshaw for ‘whatever we could get for him’. Three weeks ago there was a thread to cut our losses and trade out Weideman (who’s suddenly replaced Hogan as our long term CHF). Jesse is a 23yo KPF who has only played 71 games. He hasn’t even scratched the surface. And... https://thewest.com.au/sport/melbourne-demons/jesse-hogan-isnt-going-anywhere-says-melbourne-coach-simon-goodwin-ng-b88942433z- Andrew Gaff
Exactly. With McGovern resigning WCE may not be in a position to match a huge offer. Darling, Kennedy, NicNat as well as signings like Redden and Jetta would all be taking up a lot of cap space. They’ll need him to re-sign for quite a bit less than market value as they’ll struggle to ‘match’ it.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I wouldn't shop Hogan around, but if he asked and that was the offer... we'd be mad not to take it.- Sam Weideman

I would have thought McCartin would be a round 2-3. Talent probably places him in the 2nd, concussions and health/injury issues push him to third... For the life of me I simply do not understand the hype around Darcy Moore and would be flabbergasted if a club surrendered a first round pick for him.- Sam Weideman
That’s the gamble. Id say he has very little value at the moment so would rather keep him and look to build upon his potential. It comes down to whether you think he has what it takes at senior level. I think he has the makings of a decent player and could surprise a few in the next year or two. With that said, I completely understand people who aren’t convinced as he hasn’t had a great showing at senior level as yet. I doubt anyone would offer better than a third round pick.- Sam Weideman
IF that is the case, I doubt we’d let him go unless the trade offer was significant. His stocks are as low now as they could ever be and he’s coming to an age and size that he can start to make an impact. We’ve already invested a lot of time in him and out no 1 forward has just gone down with what is a potentially very serious injury. Contracted to the end of 2019, so I’d hope we keep him.- Andrew Gaff
Currently on the same team as Hamish Brayshaw. He’s got some uncomfortable conversations ahead of him whichever way he turns.- Andrew Gaff
Disgusting. Should not play again this season, regardless of finals results. I can’t bear the ‘good bloke’ or ‘not a thug’ excuses. This act cancels out any of that instantly.
