2021 NAB League Boys
Someone get in his ear and tell him to settle down a bit... can't go getting 20 kicks every week if he's gonna miss the first round.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Agreed. The competition for Jetta’s spot is Lockhart and he’d be a couple of weeks off being able to apply any real selection pressure. That’s not to say that Hibberd is incapable of playing Jett’s position, but I’d say it’d be a role that we haven’t seen him play before.

What you’re suggesting is closer to the Mark Neeld school of people management.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs GWS
I'm really not a fan of losing the traditional Thursday 6:30 time timeslot for team announcements.

What they’re saying at Linton Street
Never mind! Found it this time. https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/teams/richmond/dustin-martin-told-mark-robinson-at-age-17-i-was-born-to-play-afl/news-story/8c91fad879391b517aea2982f58a2ec0 “I reckon I was born to play AFL,” he said. Bit arrogant? “I don’t think I’m arrogant at all, like, it’s just something I want. I want to play AFL, that’s all I want to do. “I just want it so bad. I don’t care where I play, as a long as I get the opportunity.” He has spoken to 12 clubs, and not Melbourne, which doesn’t surprise him. He, like everyone, expects Tom Scully and Jack Trengove to go No.1 and No.2. He has met Richmond twice, before and during the draft camp. “I think they’re pretty keen,” he said. “No one has said they’ll take me yet. If it’s Richmond, it will be awesome, over the moon.” If it is Richmond, the expectations on him - as they are on Trent Cotchin - will be, well, Richmond-like: Please, please, deliver.

What they’re saying at Linton Street
Not to step into the middle of this, but just wondering where the story of never interviewing Martin got started. I went looking for an article on it a couple years ago, but found nothing... Is it an established fact or is it footy folklore/urban legend?

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
Would be very happy to see a Woewodin running around in the red and blue. With all the Pickett/Farmer/Davey/Rioli comparisons kicking around, I have been thinking how much Rivers off half back reminds me of a young Shane Woewodin. Genuinely good and unfairly maligned player.

Danny Frawley
This is completely contrary to current advice on the issue. Talk to someone. Anyone. If you’re the ‘mate’; listen. Offer to help them find a professional. Dont judge. Be there for them.

Serong/Pickett trade
So another week and you still haven’t learnt to write off immensely talented 19 year olds..?

NON MFC: Rd 02 2021
Adelaide and Sydney has been a good match. Have really enjoyed the style of football this season.

How many wins for finals?
12s usually the magic number. We've already beaten Fremantle, so if we now beat the same teams that we beat last year, then that’s 12 wins and in the 8!

The Suspension Ladder
Would have played more matches than most during that period.

Tribunal & MRP 2021
Genuinely shocked that he got the three weeks. Personally, I think three weeks is a bit much, but I also believe that it would be given to any other player in the league if they did the same thing. Shocked the ‘good bloke’ loophole didn’t work this time.

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
Steven May 5 and 5 votes Clayton Oliver 4 and 3 votes Jake Lever 4 and 3 votes Tom McDonald 2 and 2 votes Andrew Brayshaw 1 and 1 votes Looks like the only disagreement was on Lever and Oliver.

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
Good players always need to accept less to stay and there’d be crazy money being put in front of a player of Oliver’s age and ability. Not expecting a long term deal. Im confident he’ll stay, but only for enough years to take him to FA.

Luke Jackson's last quarter
That mix of raw talent and inexperience. Young players tend to come in and out of games until they develop the mental strength, stamina, experience and confidence to be switched on from siren to siren. This can be more apparent for players who aren’t paying on the ball. Franklyn, Martin, Hodge, Ablett Jr, used to float in and out of the game. Even Oliver and Petracca took time to find consistency.

NON MFC: Rd 01 2021
Matthew Rowell may have done his knee! That is absolutely devastating if true.

Luke Jackson's last quarter
Very early for ‘Post of the Year’ but I think we may have found the winner!

Round 1 Crowd
I can understand people’s reluctance to attend mass gatherings until the vaccination rollout is complete. The world is a very different place to what it was Round 22 2019.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
In the 8!! Go you demons!

TEAMS: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
It's genuinely worrying that some people think that the line-up will be where the players take the field tomorrow. No surprises with team selection imho. Good to see Sparrow and Jordon get a run; the competition for spots in the midfield will be tough with Viney coming back for Round 2.
