  1. Genuinely shocked that he got the three weeks. Personally, I think three weeks is a bit much, but I also believe that it would be given to any other player in the league if they did the same thing. Shocked the ‘good bloke’ loophole didn’t work this time.
  2. Steven May 5 and 5 votes Clayton Oliver 4 and 3 votes Jake Lever 4 and 3 votes Tom McDonald 2 and 2 votes Andrew Brayshaw 1 and 1 votes Looks like the only disagreement was on Lever and Oliver.
  3. Good players always need to accept less to stay and there’d be crazy money being put in front of a player of Oliver’s age and ability. Not expecting a long term deal. Im confident he’ll stay, but only for enough years to take him to FA.
  4. That mix of raw talent and inexperience. Young players tend to come in and out of games until they develop the mental strength, stamina, experience and confidence to be switched on from siren to siren. This can be more apparent for players who aren’t paying on the ball. Franklyn, Martin, Hodge, Ablett Jr, used to float in and out of the game. Even Oliver and Petracca took time to find consistency.
  5. Matthew Rowell may have done his knee! That is absolutely devastating if true.
  6. Very early for ‘Post of the Year’ but I think we may have found the winner!
  7. TeamPlayedFine39 replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I can understand people’s reluctance to attend mass gatherings until the vaccination rollout is complete. The world is a very different place to what it was Round 22 2019.
  8. In the 8!! Go you demons!
  9. It's genuinely worrying that some people think that the line-up will be where the players take the field tomorrow. No surprises with team selection imho. Good to see Sparrow and Jordon get a run; the competition for spots in the midfield will be tough with Viney coming back for Round 2.
  10. Go Oscar! Stick it right up ‘em!
  11. Am I missing something? Teams not announced on Thursdays anymore..?

  13. Plenty of expert predictions floating around about the upcoming season, with most being met with stinging criticisms on Demonland. Maybe time for us to have a swing at these ourselves... Premier: Runner-up: Wooden spoon: Moving up: Set to fall: Brownlow Medal: Coleman Medal: NAB AFL Rising Star: Best new Demon: Demon All Australian: Demon B&F: Big call: Ladder prediction: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
  14. True. He had Adelaide, Nth Melbourne and and Essendon instead.
  15. I don’t see the point in not playing Scully, Strauss and Maric; they’re the future- get them in there! Tapscott injured?
  16. Great to see Daw get amongst it. I doubt we’ll see him next weekend but could be ready in a few weeks. After a match and a half at VFL level, Gus would have to be a starter against Freo. With Viney out, he’ll get a good run in the middle. Shocked to see Hibberd played! I thought he was amongst the least likely to have recovered and had barely been out of rehab. Again, full VFL match suggests he’ll play round 1. Will be interesting to see what happens with Kossi next weekend. Missed a lot of the preseason and Chandler played quite well in his role. There may be room for both, but I feel it’s one or the other. Hopefully he’s pulled up ok today. I think we’ve found a player in Bowey. No rush to get him on the seniors immediately, but he may be knocking on the door sooner rather than later.
  17. Probably the best way to get him up to match fitness.
  18. The club is not handling the three teams, one club mentality. There is currently a disconnect between club’s leadership and the men’s, women’s and VFL teams.
  19. Tried to find details on the VFL league website yesterday, but found nothing. Should have checked the Casey one I suppose. Very strange it hasn’t been promoted.
  20. Thanks again Picket; amazing work. Any chance of a Round 1 best 22 based on training groups and fitness?
  21. Take this with as big a grain of salt as any other predictions. The AFL Captains predictions are usually as reliable as any others. Every captain predicted us to make the 8 in 2019. 15 tipped Adelaide for the finals. Every captain predicted GWS to make the 8 last year. 4 tipped Richmond to make the Grand Final, zero tipped Geelong. It's a bit of theatre for the empty weekend before Round 1.
  22. Going from a suburban preseason and rushing to to be match fit for round one is a hamstring injury waiting to happen. His comments weren’t out of touch, they were realistic.
  23. Hate it when business panders to the consumer!!!
  24. Who do you take instead?
  25. Not a lot of world beaters there.
