he was good earlier this year but his last 4 weeks he has been in our worst. He effort has seemed to drop away so it is a pretty obvious omission imo

you make it sound like we have Buddy sitting in the twos. the highlighted players you mention have been given several opportunities in the team and have not performed. there is no reason to think they would be better than the other NQRs selected

was 36 actually. big difference is though: 16 players played 20 games or more last year. so the majority of the 22 stayed together all year

They will obviously rise up (they have been in the bottom 3 for 5 years straight) but not by that much unless they recruit or draft more talent. Outside of Cripps and Walsh they are still light on in the midfield. fwd pressure is not great. run off half back not great. they need a reliable ruckman and their leadership aside from cripps is poor They dont have the list to win a flag imo.

true, but compare the amount of players at the top teams (GWS, Pies, Tigers, WC etc) that would be on very good money and we still should have plenty to spend. unless we've overpaid the 6 above

good point but I reckon having 4-5 players on good money we should be able to absorb that and not feel the squeeze. 20 blokes on our list should be on very average coin. I reckon there is money to spend. Lewis retiring and Jones getting less too

How can our salary cap be stretched when we have 2 imports and Gawn on big money. we also lost hogan. we should have a lot of room to spare. god knows most players negotiating a new contract this year wont be getting more money based on 2019 performance

I wouldn't offer him another year. He has been dropped a couple of times. Had a re-birth up fwd but he will be older and slower next year. draft some kids and play them. get some speed up fwd. happy to offer him a coaching/dev role though
