  1. Tom McDonald is improving and I think Oscar will be the better player.
  2. That is twice Tyson. Give the F'in hands off!!
  3. After a good start, that is too slow Dommy T.
  4. Dom Tyson, your goal. Great tackle. Good decision making there by Pederson.
  5. I don't know if my eyes are failing me or not, but Dom Tyson is actually kicking well today.
  6. I think 61 for the Bullies (VFL) could be a good replacement for Brayshaw.
  7. Its unlikely Lever won't be signed by seasons end. An after the game interview the other week suggested that Lever was just holding off till the CBA was signed off. Part of me is annoyed we don't have either Lever or Kelly. They are both exceptional talents, and it is probably only due to bad luck that we don't have at least one of them. Then the rational part of my brain (or what is left of it) tells me that if we did have either of those players - then there is no guarantee we would have Oliver, Petracca or Hunt. That is the beauty of the draft. Win some/lose some. I think we could still move heaven and earth to tempt one of these players though. But I only believe they would be tempted because as I player I would be tempted. We are a club on the up. Both Kelly and Lever should consider us - especially if they desire to come back to Vic.
  8. Yeah well said. I think that stat itself only paints some of the picture. Then we have a look further and see where the player is positioned, but I agree that the eyes don't lie. I - like many - watch most MFC games, and after a while it becomes evident who is/isn't a great kick. I think Neville Jetta's reading of 88% is a number that matches up well with that I actually see. We do have a lot of players that don't use the ball well though. Jetta certainly stands out as one that does use the ball well. What I would like to see is a DE under pressure statistic - especially across the midfield. That is an area where we could be more be efficient.
  9. With the addition of Ablett jr next year it will be a team propped up by 3 players.
  10. I remember when Adelaide dropped Vince for some minor indiscretion, and I had the pleasure of watching him play SANFL. I think he had over 50 touches. He was far too good for that level and I remember thinking this guy is a footballers footballer. He was just a ball magnet that day. It is mostly for that reason that I see Vince playing a few more years at our club. I know he may look cooked at the moment, and you aren't the first to mention it - I have heard it on big footy as well. But Vince is a pure footballer IMO, and it is only a matter of time until he comes good. I will say, I am surprised that he is so down in form atm though. It is worrying, but I have faith he will come good.
  11. Purely from a performance perspective I think Lewis has been underwhelming. Beyond that we don't really know the significance of his contribution to our game plan, and the effect he is having on our youth. I am definitely in the camp that believes Lewis is not all he is cranked up to be as a player, but I can also see our team is on the improve, and Lewis is most likely playing a big part in that - whether its at training, off field, on field (running patterns, etc).
  12. He is going to be a good player. He is just young, and with youth comes inconsistency. But I think he is doing a good job down back. There will be games where he doesn't look up to it, and games where he looks more than capable. Today we seen both varieties in the one game. Hopefully next year and beyond we start to see the sort of consistency that comes with more experience.
  13. Hopefully Spencer gets a run. Gawn could do with the extra week.
  14. Glad they don't have Wells or Elliot. I don't underestimate the importance of those two guys to the Collingwood side. Two less game breakers we have to worry about.
  15. Gritted teeth, nah. I picture Viney using the photo as a dart board.
  16. Jones is promising. He is an intense player. Hits the ball at full tilt. I'd be surprised if they let him go. He is on his way to becoming an impact player, and his skills are rapidly improving. I have been very impressed to see his kicking looking so sharp at times - with his errors becoming less frequent. It would be a good time to offer Jones overs (just to put some more pressure on Sydney, and also in hope of luring Jones ourselves).
  17. At 25 years old I think Sam Reid would be worth a look. He can play forward/ruck, and he does fill a need. Serious upside to Reid, and I think a lot of people simply write him off because of past injuries. Look past that and you will see a rare athlete, and a footballer of great upside. For that right price I think Reid would be a great fit for our club.
  18. I like it. Very relaxing.
  19. What is the Tippett rumour on facebook?
  20. Yeah, probably need this years first rounder to get him. About the right price, and if I were Sydney's list manager I would stronger consider it. They are going to hard up squeezing Reid in that cap, and if they do they are going to need to free up some $$$. Sydney are in a tricky position now. They have a lot of older types accustomed to top dollar, and they have quality young talent entering their first big contract. I rate Jones, but if they don't lose Jones - it will be someone else equally as good.
  21. Just go all out on Lever. Offer overs if need be. We need Lever in the long term. Plenty of spuds to cut to fit in serious players.
