  1. Need to throw Petracca and Salem in the midfield. Leave em there with Oliver. Hawthorn cannot match those guys.
  2. - Scully is wasteful, only even bombs the ball in, but isn't damaging. - Cameron needs to kick straighter. - Zac Williams had a nightmare of a game. - Seb Ross is developing into a damaging mid for St Kilda. - Gresham is going to be a top liner in the next couple of years, very talented. - Injuries happen in football matches and people need to accept that. It is football. These things happen.
  3. I doubt Sydney will be able to afford him at that price either. I would say a worth of 600-700k is more realistic. Swans may not be able to even afford that price either.
  4. We got Oliver being touted as a potential brownlow medalist, Petracca being compared favorably to Ablett and Gray at the same age. Meanwhile Jayden Hunt is absolutely carving up sides with his run and carry. Good times.
  5. Good bet. Oliver isn't slowing down. I think he is that good that he could win it. Not sure we'll win as many games as Adelaide in the run home though. So given that Sloane is probably in front of Oliver atm, I think Oliver would do well with a top 3 finish. But anything can happen. Sloane may get injured, tagged heavily, or we may win more games than anticipated.
  6. I wasn't talking about our players. I mentioned that many of the Freo youth are unproven - as many young players are. Fyfe would be silly to bank on those players mentioned (Logue, Tucker, Balic, Blakely) becoming game changers. And let's face it, Freo will need some of them to become game changers. There has been some proven talent leave that side in the past year or so, and will be more leave the side. I doubt Freo will make the 8 anytime soon. Once Sandilands leaves I see that midfield not getting first use, I look forward to watching Neale and Fyfe not get the ball handed to them on a platter. That will be enjoyable. If Fyfe stays then he deserves to wallow in misery, that Fremantle side is going no where in the future. If Fyfe does decided to leave Fremantle then St Kilda, or even Melbourne are not his only options.
  7. That Dockers side isn't taking Fyfe to a flag. Logue, Blakey, Balic, Grey and Tucker are all unproven. There is nothing to suggest any of them will be anything more than role players at the moment. Freo have recently lost Pav, Barlow and McPharlin, will lose Sandilands and McPharlin in the next couple of years. Freo are not playing for a flag anytime soon - not in Fyfe's career I would not think. He would be silly to stay. Would need 1.5 million minimum to stay with a club he knows won't take him to premiership success.
  8. Jones appears to balance a lot of endurance runs with boxing and surfing. He isn't just doing endurance every time he steps out to train.Nevertheless, Judd does make some good points about how athletes do need to train smarter as they get older - quality over quantity.
  9. One of the most athletic forwards I have seen. Doesn't necessarily translate into being an effective footballer, but in Sam Reid's case it translates into being an above average forward, and a part time ruck man - exactly what we need. Reid could ruck full time if he wanted, has been pinch hitting in the ruck with Tippett out, and regularly beating established ruck man. Very good player.
  10. I am no Tyson fan, but I have noticed he is better as a middle man. If Tyson can hit the receiver at full speed then he can recapture his better form. Oliver is the key to that, and Viney lifting his game will help as well. Tyson has a sharp football brain, he just isn't the contested ball getter some have believed him to be (because he is easy to catch). As a middle man he can use his football brain to his advantage, and in turn be less rushed to kick. That is something I have noticed.
  11. Melksham just get off the ground.
  12. If Daniher kicked half straight this game would be over.
  13. Oliver, Petracca, Watts, Hunt, and Salem. That is the future of this club.
  14. He has always been a spud. Demonland initially had it right when his name was first mentioned. The club conditioned many into thinking he would be a good recruit, but he looks worse than he did at Essendon - which is pretty bad. He isn't even a VFL level football player.
  15. This is what happens when there at too many AFL teams. We see players making up numbers. Players who otherwise wouldn't have a career in AFL football.
  16. Best game Melksham has played for Essendon.
  17. Umpiring having no bearing on today's game. Both teams are just deplorable. This is embarrassing for AFL football.
  18. Thank christ for Joe Daniher.
  19. Jayden Hunt is in rare form. What a player. Very special.
  20. Lewis is overrated. He is no great kick. I haven't seen much effectiveness from Lewis since he started with us.
  21. They aren't the difference though.
  22. I still find it hard to believe Melksham plays AFL.
  23. No they are not. Adelaide look a class above both GWS and the Western Bulldogs. At present Adelaide sit as the team to beat. I wouldn't have GWS and the Bullies ahead of Adelaide, but it is a long year. GWS should improve as the year goes on. I don't buy into this GWS dynasty. They will be good, but they will be more than beatable. Still a few quality players to leave that group as well.
