No point getting it if you are going to turn it over.

In a heartbeat. If we could prize Tomlinson out of GWS in a Howe trade, we'd be doing well. Maybe Howe and a second rounder for Tomlinson.

No air in those handball - and often handballs players into trouble.. - J.Toumpas.
-
Excellent Jack Watts. Very calm, very poised. Your goal Jack, get around him boys.
-
If in doubt, don't kick in the direction of the opposition ruckman.
-
There a friggin throw in there. FFS, how hard is it to spot a throw.
-
Gilbert continuing to do whatever he wants. Must be a mate of Oxley's.
-
Viney going well. Gilbert doing whatever he pleases down back.
-
Well said Healy. This is becoming a BIG issue with Toumpas. It's just not good enough at this level.
-
Don't kick to opposition ruckman Dunny, I learned that in under 10's.
-
I don't even want to go through another Bail, Matt Jones, FFS Riley.
-
Vince and Jones started well.

I'd like to see us throttle these other sub par sides. Never really seems to happen, I guess both sides are growing. We seem to of been growing since Bruce and Green were kids.
-
GWS should've put this away by half time. Now they look like getting done by 30 plus. The umps do a good job of not letting Collingwood get too far out of touch.

Alex Neal-Bullen to Debut Round 11 vs St Kilda

Be interesting to see how this Luke Parker clone goes. I hope ANB doesn't start as the sub. Exciting times for the MFC. -
National Under 18 Championships - 2015

Francis looks good on tape - from the very little I have seen. But to assess the kid, I'd say he moves extremely well, kicks well on both feet - and is versatile. Weitering also moves well, is strong through the core, looks well balanced, and times the ball well. Those 2 players would be my clear top 2 atm. I haven't seen a lot of Schache, he does appear to be a smooth mover for a forward. I probably wouldn't overlook the other 2 in favor of him though, that would be risky. I think Parish might be the kid who slides to us, and he is very good user of the football, I'd be happy if we landed Parish. I still really like Glen as well, although I have no idea as to where he is perceived to go in the draft. -
We have a better young list than Fremantle. I know Fremantle look good atm, but Pav, Sandilands, Mundy, Johnson, and even Barlow, aren't too far off retiring. When Fremantle go through that inevitable football regression - where they slide outside the 4, MFC will be going through the opposite - hopefully anyway. It is all about timing, and IMO, the timing will be on our side in regards to Hogan.

Delistings/trades at end of the season

This isn't the 90's and Brisbane aren't Fremantle. Sure, if we can get away with it. Aish is a footballers footballer. -
Alex Neal-Bullen to Debut Round 11 vs St Kilda

Decimated by injuries but we've dropped a mature kid in Newton. As far as I know he isn't injured. I don't think it's the right call to play ANB quite yet. Unlike Brayshaw, ANB didn't have a pre-season, has had issues with his knee, and still needs conditioning. IMO it is a bad call. Of course, I will be much happier to be wrong on this one. -

IMO a bad call by the club. ANB needs more time and conditioning. I would debut ANB round 16-17 onwards, just to give him a taste. -
The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!

I will stop backing Brayshaw when he hits $2. That is my NAB betting strategy. -
Good luck to him. A GWS flag won't hold a lot of weight in the next decade. Give any side in the league the amount of quality draft picks - and they'd be in a similar position. When things aren't fair and equal, it's hard to take success seriously. Just a compromised era we are going to have to get through.

Lumumba is necessary. He isn't psychologically broken like a lot of our playing list tend to be. The body language of Nath Jones, McDonald, Toumpas and Watts - in interviews - says a lot about the psychology of the club. Roos has had a lot of work to do, Lumumba is a necessary ingredient, he is a strong personality - with a lot of strong beliefs. It is no coincidence that Vince, Vandenberg, Brayshaw, Cross and Tyson, have shown more than in a short time - than some of our list has shown in their careers. IMO we just need to restock our list with some more quality FA, continue to find the list balance of youth and experience. I think we'll improve rapidly in 2016-17.

100%. Absolutely vital for us Crossy. We need him more than he needs us, sign him up asap. This guy isn't even nearly done.

Toumpas is going to take time. We really have no choice there. I think he is improving, still does a lot wrong - but IMO that is expected, he hasn't played much top level footy. I'd like to see him improve on some simple errors though, he needs to put more grunt into his handballs, and needs to work on his composure, he handballs opponents into trouble a lot. I think the focus for Jimmy should be on all the 1% plays. Strip it back to absolute basics and just work up from there. That being said, he is improving as the weeks go by - which is encouraging for him.
